A Late Confession

-A Few Days Earlier From The Wedding-

"Mom. Are you sure she is ready?" Andre worriedly asked his Mother who was currently sipping on her tea, enjoying her time in the beautiful enormous garden.

"Why do you ask so?" Mrs. Adolphus asked, sipping on her tea.

"Just...I don't think she is happy with this marriage. No, I guarantee she is not happy!" he said as he got seated on the chair in front of his mother.

Charlotte placed her cup down as a serious expression took over her face.

"I think so too. The way she reacted that day upon hearing her marriage news was not something to ignore. She looked shocked and disappointed...disappointed in her parents" Charlotte said.

"I know for sure after that day, she must have hated me...our race...and everything related to us." Andre said with a sad smile, confusing his mother.

"Afterall, my incompetence led her to a traumatic life. I made her lose her trust in thinking we can be peaceful" Andre added.

"What day? What are you saying? Do you know her? Can you explain please?" Charlotte asked as confusion only rose inside her.

"Me too!!"

A voice startled both the mother and son duo.

It was Scarlett, hiding behind the pillar. She popped her head out with an awkward smile on her face. She ran towards them and got seated on the third empty chair.

"Letti? Are you eavesdropping again? How many times should I tell you not to do that! You are not a kid any-" Charlotte started to scold the fifteen-year-old but Andre stopped her by saying,

"It's okay Mom. She's still a kid, and let me complete my confession please."

"Yeah! Exactly! We should listen to him first" Scarlett exclaimed and mouthed a 'Thank you' to her Elder Brother who smiled at her.

Charlotte glared at both her kids before diverting her attention to Andre.

Andre took a deep breath before opening his mouth to finally reveal his long lost secret to his mother.

"Actually, Eight years ago, that day...."

And he explained the whole story as both the ladies listened to him carefully.

___

"What?!"

Both of the ladies stood up from their seats with their eye sockets popped out, whereas Andre was looking down in guilt.

"So this is why you never told me what happened there?! This is why you didn't tell about the intruder girl others were talking about? This is why that incident happened?" Charlotte asked in shock.

"You left her to die with them? An eleven-year-old girl? Who used all her energy to save you? Brother, I'm really disappointed in you" Scarlett said, disappointment was clearly seen on her face and same went for his mother.

Both of them sat back down, glaring at the root of that incident.

"Is this why you locked yourself up in your room for a week? And the reason why you cried on my lap each night?" Charlotte asked, feeling a little sympathy for his child, remembering his condition eight years ago. Andre slowly nodded his head.

Eight years ago, when Elisa was out of his sight, he knew what was going to happen to her. He was happy when he heard she was alive but all his happiness crashed the moment his father's men described the scene there. He knew how much of an effect this all might have had on Elisa...

His first love...

His father had always been a wise leader and he punished all the men that crossed the border and sent an apology too but received no reply, but still didn't blame anyone.

"I can understand her now. How her eyes showed fright when she found out we were Werewolves, how cold sweat took all over her forehead. At first I found it odd but now..." Charlotte said.

"This must be really hard for her," Scarlett said as others nodded, agreeing with her statement.

"Poor child...She is such a good child that she is sacrificing her happiness for her parents" Charlotte said.

"But why is this marriage happening in the first place?" Scarlett asked. Mrs. Adolphus sighed and opened her mouth to speak but before she could speak another voice interrupted her.

"I'll tell you but first of all..."

It was Samuel Adolphus. He proceeded his steps toward the trio and got seated on the last empty seat.

"I heard all your conversation and Andre...I must say you really were incompetent" Samuel said with disappointment as Andre looked down.

"*tch* Stop it. He's already guilty enough. Now you also don't start it, okay? And were you also eavesdropping on our conversation? Now I know whom Scarlett takes after!"

Charlotte burst out as Samuel got silent. Whereas the other two were controlling their laugh, witnessing their Alpha father turn into a puppy.

"Sorry, Honey. Okay? Calm down" Mr. Adolphus said as his wife heaved a sigh of frustration.

"This whole family is mental" she said to which others just stayed silent.

"A-Anyway, Daddy, What was the reason...that you were...talking about?" Scarlett asked, trying to change the topic and both the males thanked her with their eyes.

"Y-Yeah. The reason! Good question. Right, Honey?" Mr. Adolphus asked as his wife just glared at him.

"Okay, so" Mr. Adolphus said, after getting rejected by his wife.

"The reason is that Elisa is very popular and powerful too. So powerful that she can wipe out a whole town single handedly and her parents aka my friends both were worried about her well being and because of her traumatic past, it only added to their worry. Plus the fact, I already knew about her past and my son's deeds because they told me what happened to her" Mr. Adolphus said, making all three eyes to widen.

"And you didn't tell me?" Mrs. Adolphus complained.

"I was looking for the right time and it's not good to tell everyone about someone's tragedy but now that she is our soon-to-be daughter-in-law, it was about time I told you and when I heard your conversation, I thought today is the day.

Elisa's parents came to me to discuss this issue of theirs. We were pretty close from the very start. Our friendship blossomed in our early business days in the human realm and our differences only made us stronger and unbreakable. When they shared this issue with me, I was the one who suggested this marriage.

They wanted someone to protect their baby even if it risks his life and I wanted someone who can make our son serious in life. It was a good opportunity. I knew that because of what happened before would make Andre protect her at all costs and she is a kid who will make our home heaven. Business was just an excuse. They just want to protect their beloved daughter"

Mr. Adolphus explained as others looked at him in amusement.

"You're a player, Dad. Way to go!" Scarlett cheered as Mr. Adolphus acted like he was being crowded between his fans.

"*scoff* What player? He is a con you know, C-O-N, Con" Mrs. Adolphus said, breaking their proud moment.

"When will that time arrive when you will really appreciate my sincerity" Mr. Adolphus said, dramatically.

Whereas Mrs. Adolphus rolled her eyes. Both of their children were just enjoying their cute interaction.

And that's how the whole evening went by...
