A Healing Hand

You ever just met someone and know you were meant to met them. The day I met her my whole life would be changed by her. She was a beautiful girl, and when she actually smiled she looked like an angel. It was lunch time and even though I knew for a fact she had lots of friends, she picked up her tray and sat next to me. She smiled and said my names Cheyenne, what's yours. Ryan I told her. She smiled again and said it was nice to met me. However this time when she smiled I saw something in her eyes I hadn't seen before. What I saw in her eyes was a cry for help. I saw a little girl was was lost and afraid, she was scared of the dark and what laid in it. I saw a broken person who smiled to make others happy, and to me that was brave. I saw someone closed off from the world but still wanted to help others. I saw a past that was to hard for someone to bare alone, and yet she did. When I finally looked away from her eyes I told her, she shouldn't sit with me. Her answer was why not, they won't bully me. However I knew they bullied her but she stayed strong and didn't let me help her. That day at lunch was the happiest day of my life, because someone finally reached out for me. She held her hand out as if to say, if you grab on now I'll pull you out. You no longer have to face this on your own, so grab on and I'll help you. I'll pull you out of the darkness that consumes you. I knew even before I grabbed her hand that she too needed someone to pull her out of the darkness she was in. Though at that very minute it didn't matter to me, and maybe I was selfish to take and use her kindness, but I grabbed on and just as she promised she pulled me out. For me to grab those hands was like a healing touch, that would slowly heal the wounds in my heart.
