Chapter 46: Thank you

I start my morning by waking up by side of Jean. Remembered what she asked me, if she forgot about it, I think it would be okay. I don't know how I will answer her question. I do not know even what she'll be asking me.

I went downstairs, and with every footstep I made I stopped thinking about Keisha. You can't blame me, what would you do if your ex-girlfriend went back after years? She left like nothing. I don't know what I will going to feel if I meet her once again. Will I be happy? Can I even smile when I see her? Damn, she makes me think about her huh

I look around the refrigerator, looking for food to cook and eat. While I'm bending to check the refrigerator I feel something in my back, Jean appears in my back.

"You woke up, did you miss me?" She cutely nodded still close to her eyes. I took some egg, and bacon to cook. I think that would be enough for breakfast.

"Milove, go sit there, I'll be here." she shook her head and slowly wrapped her hands tightly around my waist. "I love you gel." she hugged me right and let her head on my shoulder.

"I love you" I rub her hair and tell her to go and sit while I'm making breakfast. I need to go to work, there's so much paperwork I need to do as usual.

She slowly let go of me and before she even let go of her hands around me she kissed my neck and cheek and walked away to sit down. I focused on what I was doing. Come to think of it, we are supposed to talk something right? Well, it can wait till later after work.

"Go wash your hands Je, I'm done cooking." She smiled and stood up, she went straight to the sink to wash her hands as I told her to.

"About the thing you mentioned yesterday evening, let's talk about it after work. I know it is serious." I said to her while slowly getting the spoon. Looking at her eyes you can tell it is serious.

We eat as normal, talk to someone, laugh at jokes she or I said, and soon we finish eating I excuse myself. I need to go to work right now as soon as I can. Not gonna lie, I'm so tired of working. If I don't need to work on this early and late I just sleep every morning to night, but what I can do? I need to go to work every morning until evening just to live. It's suck

I sigh as I'm in a hurry, my bath was just like a touch of water on my skin. I just wear anything shirt and pants I can wear to work. "I'm off to work, go and start dressing up and go to work also. I'm going first, bye!" I shouted before passing through the door and close it.

work went well, I was about to go downstairs to meet Jean but then Keisha's father called me to his office. I don't know what we are going to talk about but I have it in my mind. In times like this, the boss won't call me to talk about something related to the work. It means it will mainly focus on Keisha, again.

"Yes sir?" I knock and then open the door slowly. "Take a seat first." I nodded and then said thank you as respect. "What do you want to talk about sir?" I asked as I looked into his eyes. "I don't know why but you stop calling me uncle since the incident. Even if it happened, that doesn't change the fact that I raised you as my second daughter." Mr Alonzo said, "You also know that your mom asked me before she left us and went to the other side." Mr Alonzo added I don't understand why and what his intention is and did not get his point. I just sat there and listen to all his talk.

"What I want is for you to gain your relationship with us if you don't know, Keisha's mother or my wife if you prefer. She misses you so much Gel." I look into his eyes, I feel moved but also guilty at the same time that I do not even need to feel. "Thank you for always being at my side uncle, you and Auntie have been my side since I was a little. You stand by my side like my real parents, it makes me feel guilty about what I did." I look down as I can't look into his eyes directly. "To all you guys did to me, I betrayed you and fell in love with your daughter. I'm so sorry uncle." I added I feel in my eyes that my tears were starting to gather in my eyes. I try my best to stop my tears from falling, but I can't help it. It feels like talking to parents.

"Honey, there's nothing wrong with falling in love. Yes, I feel betrayed at first, but what I can do? As time went on, I could see that my daughter truly loved you. I am so bad at parenting, that I made it to the point where I forced my daughter to marry a man she doesn't like." He said while looking outside the building through the glass window in his office. "The last time I saw her smiling that was truly pure is when she is with you. I am so sorry, I'm so selfish," he added, I looked up and noticed that Uncle was crying.

"You did that you think the right thing for your daughter as her father. Don't think like that Uncle, you are just a father like the other fathers out there." -"I'm so grateful to be in your family and once again to be welcome to your family Uncle." I added I smiled thinking about gaining the love of my family, they are my family. Even though they are not my biological parents, they are always here for me. What I can do? I can't hate the man who helped me through all the problems I faced.

"Thank you for always being here Uncle."

"I'm sorry for being a coward and just talk about it now Angel, I know my wrongs that's why I'm so sorry my daughter. I love you!" He approached me with his hand wide open, reaching for a hug. I smile and hug him, my tears can't hold back anymore. They drop like a bucket, I can not help but cry my eyes out.

I just love the family I used to grow with. I miss you.
