Chapter 39: The party has begun

We took our first shot, Keisha was busy dealing with others. Some of her relatives talk to us, especially Kiel. They have known Kiel since he was a kid, and they also know me but of course, they focus on Kiel as Keisha's fiance.

We laugh at Kiel being busy dealing with others, doing his best to smile for others, We all drink alcohol as we laugh at Kiel and talk to each other.

Their conversation continued for a few hours. You can see Keisha from afar trying her best to welcome all the guests.

Finally, the relative the one talking to Kiel starts saying goodbye.

Before they even got away far from us, Kiel let go a big sigh. The smile he wore while talking to the other, as he turned to us his smile slightly fading away from his face.

After he inhaled and let go of the air as he shouted, he started talking.

"Damn, how hours should I wear this fake smile and fake accent bro."

As I scoffed at him I replied to his thoughts.

"It's nice to meet you here Uncle, Aunty. I'm happy to see you once again." I said with the tone of how Kiel talks, I mocked him and smiled.

"Can you please stop? I don't have enough energy to fight with you." He said while touching his forehead.

"Okay, I'll stop, Sit down for now, let's drink shall we?"

He sat down and took his shot and straightened it to his mouth.

As the time flew by we enjoyed the party, I saw Keisha walking towards us. She seems to have finished talking to the guests. After all, many people came and she couldn't talk to everyone.

"Finally, My jaw tired from smiling and talking for hours. They keep going and going, but after all, I'm happy that they came."

"Take a seat, take a rest sweetie," I said and stood up to take the chair for Keisha to sit down.

"Thank you dear" Keisha said to me.

"I can't believe it, I don't know where your kind personality hides. Maybe you're just shy to show me that, aren't you?" Kiel suddenly spoke

"The hell man, I'm mean to you that's because you deserve it, your behavior, your attitude, and what else. Everything is not good, Why do you think I'll be nice to you." I shouted to Kiel while glaring at him.

"C'mon you guys, stop already, We are here to enjoy and celebrate our girl's birthday. Fix your behavior." Jean stopped us while holding onto Kiel's chest.

"Okay, I'm sorry, I think I drank too much already," I said in a low voice while holding my hair.

For now, we start a conversation. I already gave my gift to my girl earlier so we all need to do is enjoy it. After all, I don't need to go to work tomorrow so I think I can enjoy and get drunk.

Sebastian said we should call Maxine, but the time where Maxine is here is different. She may be sleeping or busy. We also didn't want to disturb her so we ended up not calling her.

We took a picture and sent it to Maxine. Even if she is not here by our side, no one should be left behind.

While we were having fun, a relative of Keisha approached us.

"Keisha, Kiel, you're just here. I've been looking at you two for a while." Keisha's relative who is her aunt said. Next to her aunt was her daughter.

"Why Aunty? What do you want to us?" Keisha asked her aunt.

"I just want to congratulate you in advance." Her aunt said while smiling.

"Congratulate me? Why Aunt? I think you mean Happy Birthday?" Keisha asked but she was confused.

"Omy? You don't seem to know yet? Maybe you didn't listen to what your beloved father said?"

Keisha looked at her aunt for a long time, trying to figure out what her aunt was trying to say. She was silent for a few minutes before talking again.

"Aunty Amanda, can you just say what you really want to say?" After Keisha told her aunt.

"Aren't you supposed to get married next year?" Her aunt said.

We were all stunned by the news. The surroundings fell silent, not a single one wanted to speak.

What does it mean? What does her aunt mean? What does she mean by next year? Why? What? Did I hear it right? Am I drunk? Many questions came to my mind but the news we heard was sudden. I've been drinking too so I'm asking myself if I heard it right.

"Aunt Amanda, what do you mean next year? Isn't it supposed to be until our 27th birthday? It means we still have time, we still have 3 years left. What does it mean??" Kiel suddenly burst out and started asking Aunt Amanda.

"Why am I you asking? Ask your Uncle Alonzo, that brat little brother of mine. I didn't know that you guys didn't know about it. You all look surprised." Aunt Amanda said.

"Of course, we are, What kind of parents is that, making decisions for their daughter? Let me talk to your dad Keisha." Before Kiel walked, Keisha reached for Kiel.

"W-what does it mean Aunty? W-why?" Keisha's voice starts shaking while she's talking, she can't even talk straight.

"W-where's dad and m-mom?" Keisha asked her aunt one more time.

"I think they are in the ro-" Before Aunty Amanda finished her sentence Keisha started running to the room where her parents were.

"Keisha, wait for me." Kiel starts chasing Keisha trying to calm her down.

My whole body can't move, I want to chase him but my legs don't want to move. I want to look at him but my head and eyes don't want to move. I was turned to stone because of what I heard. I was shocked by what I heard. I lost all the alcohol I drank because of what I heard. Now my head is just full of questions of "why?" And "what?" But I can't speak. I couldn't do anything but stay where I was sitting.

Little by little my eyes are getting black, my vision is disappearing. Before disappearing completely I felt a hand on my shoulder and I heard a voice. Over time, the voice I heard got louder and louder.

"ANGELICA PULL IT TOGETHER, ANGELICA" I heard Jean's voice.

I snapped myself, I back consciousness. I slowly looked up where the sound was coming from.

"Angelica, breathe please, breathe," Jean said to me while her face looked like she was worried about something.

I don't know why but I breathe slowly and catch up my breathing. Before I realized my hand felt watery. The liquid still fell from my face, I touched my face and realized that I was crying.

That's why she's calling me huh?

"Sebastian water please," Jean said to Sebastian, Looking at them they both looked worried.

Jean passed the water to me and made me drink. After I drank the water and I was slowly catching my breath, Jean suddenly hugged me.

"I'm right here at your side, it's okay now. We are here for you." Jean said while hugging me. I don't know why and what happened but that hug made me relieved somehow.

That's right, Keisha and Kiel huh

My eyes slowly closed even though I didn't want to. I want to know what happened, I want to know where they are. I wanted to get up but my body was exhausted and Jean's hug didn't let me stand up. Her hug made me too sleepy.
