Interesting type of blood sample

"It's a quite interesting type of blood sample you got. It's… nether a human's or like those monsters. Should a say fusion of both? No, that wouldn't be appropriate. How should I put it? Anyway, you can tell from the sample that the color of it wasn't as similar as human blood. It's not just red, it's closer to pitch black. This is my first-time encounter with such a case."

Dr. Clara said in wonder. Her face shows a mixture of confusion and excitement.

Apparently, we were in the CPA-4 Research lab where all crime forensic and other stuff were tested. Such as DNA tests, blood tests, Monster resonance tests. Although it all sounded kind of creepy to me, I happened to understand most of them.

"So, this is new to you also, Clara?"

She nodded slightly and gazed at me for no reason. I could see her mature face, She was wearing medical glasses, Was it for a show? Or did she had a problem seeing? Whatever, it's none of my concern. What concerns me most is how she talk. When she talks to me or with her colleague, she would turn somewhat cold, dead. However, when it comes to Mr. Lukas, she would become a somewhat soft, light human who you want to sacrifice yourself for her. Well, did she have any romantic relationship with him? Probably not, It's Mr. Lukas I'm talking about. He's not a person who would like romance. As I thought that, I couldn't help but fantasize about Mr.Lukas as a romantic person from a Chinese webcomic.

"If I'm not wrong this is a new species of Monster." Her expression was as if she made a significant discovery by herself. "I want to see that monster myself."

Is that women out of her damn mind? That monster is not something you would like to meet face to face. People who see that monster would try to run away as soon as they saw it.

"Thanks for your help, Clara. I think I got it. Don't stop research on it. If you find anything, please be sure to inform me." Saying that Mr. Lukas began walking, leaving her, he didn't even look back. I was lagging behind, so I pushed myself to move onward.

"Sir, it might not my business but could you have any relationship with Dr. Clara? I mean it would be okay even if you don't answer it." Shi*T my curiosity got the best of me. I should be very careful.

"It's not like the type you're thinking." Yes, My accusation was right.

"Before this, she was with me, working as a Junior assistant." So, she was in my position.

"After some time, she chose to work in the research department. It was her choice. I didn't stop her. During work, I pay a visit to her, just like today."

Mr. Lukas is a kind person. I don't why but I think something had happened between them. It might be an incident, not sure.

"Reyes, Did you find any trace of that boy?"

"The problem is that other CPA departments aren't cooperating with us. How many times I called they don't seem to care at all." I was not going at handling such a crisis.

"Did you the Chief knows about it?"

"Yes, He knows it."

Mr. Lukas suddenly became serious; His face was swollen. Did he not sleep at night?

"What about the background check on that boy?"

"I got them; His name is Jodan Libert.

He had a father who went to WW3 but never came back. He also had a mother but she died recently. She was bedridden for a while. What surprises me most is that Jodan hardly pays a visit to her. From what the hospital staff said that he was kind of afraid of her. There's no record of him vising the hospital in the last two years. He didn't even come to the funeral of his mother nor contacted them. In the end, the hospital had to arrange a funeral on their own."

"So, A normal guy?"

"You can say that but he's kind of weird. He became a shut-in after his first year in college. There is a various rumor that he was being bullied by his classmate."

"I see…" That was what Mr. Lukas answer, Nothing more, nothing less.

You're gonna say that after I work my ass of collecting this much information. Did you know how much I had to spend traveling from one place to other? You could at least praise me a little like saying, "you did well." Or something like that.

Whatever, I don't expect much from him.

"Did he kill anyone before?"

"huh?" That was sudden.

"Any murder record?" Mr. Lukas again asked as I couldn't grasp the meaning.

"No, He's like a typical college boy."

"What about the workplace?"

"He did work in some part-time jobs, Such as waiter in a cafe, cleaner in a hotel and proofreader in a webcomic company although he lasted only one or two months. More precisely speaking, he left the jobs after a few months of working."

"Any particular reason?"

"There's no cases of a bully or low payment."

Mr. Lukas was wondering what could be the reason so I. People usually work to earn money. Money is a must-have item in today's world. You could literally buy anything with money, that could be power or assets. But a teenage boy would try to be a chairman or something? That would be absurd. What could a teenage boy desire? I wonder if he brought drugs with that money. To avoid suspicion, he changed his workplace from time to time.

"hobby?" Mr. Lukas spoke out. He was also brainstorming with me. "What's his hobbies?" That might be it.

"Playing games… and…"

"Yes, he might be using money to buy those games and novels."

It possibly is true as we already know, he's a game freak. The young generation nowadays wastes their money on those pity things. Why am I thinking like an old man all of a sudden? I'm not that old.

"Sir, are we thinking about that?"

"right why?" He became puzzled but then again, he reorganized his thoughts, "No, there's a reason for it. We could track him. Contact the stores where he bought those, he may visit the shops to buy more."

As we were limited on manpower, we should use strategy. The chief neglects Mr. Lukas and didn't give him much power to work with even though he's a senior detective here. Mr. Lukas knew it more or less.
