A Promise That Needs To Be Fulfilled

'The world is a void of endless possibility' there is a saying like that. Yeah, I remember that day when John came to college with eyes swollen. One, no two possibilities came to my mind that day. The first was that he might have played the MNVrop that came out the other day. The second possibility was that the annual exam is near so he might have gotten serious about that and studied the hell out and thus got his dark circle or whatever that is. Though that was my opinion about him I didn't know if they were true or not.

In the end, my curiosity got the best out of me and I asked Peter who was a little better at socializing than me. Unlike me, he has some friends and got with them more or less. When I told him what he thinks about that matter, he quickly gulped the bread that he brought from the canteen and murmured, "….umm….." He thought for a second as if he was doing some research in his mind. Then again, he detached his lips to spoke out. I could see the bread crunches sticking on his mouth. "ummm, I see, but just to sure let's ask him in person." It was a bad idea to ask him. As he was about to ask John who was idle seating on the corner of the classroom, eating his last piece of crunched roll. It was probably five dollars in the canteen but most of the time it was sold out in a minute or so. Oh, sh*t I got distracted, so where was I?... oh, I swiftly grabbed Peter by his hand to stop him from asking John, "Don't ask him, he might get angry. Didn't you know he has a bad temper?"

"Oh, you're right." How could you be this airheaded?

As a matter of sorrow, I didn't get to know what was the reason behind his swollen eyes that day. The next day I heard a rumor about him getting into a fight with the boys of College. It wasn't from Peter whom I get to know about that but some of John's friends who were badmouthing about him to each other. I happened to overhear that.

Eventually, my all assumptions were found wrong and false. So, the world really is a place with infinite possibilities.

Ah…(Sigh) There is a possibility of me getting close to Jessica today… Possibility… A possibility… I was thinking about that for a while now. Was my relationship with Jessica can get better?

"Oi! Are you off with you're mind again? concentrate on your hands." I broke out in shock but then again calm myself.

I nodded in response to his scowl. "Ummm.. sorry…"

"Good, If you understand that. Think when you go home not here." After saying that he went on chopping the meat that he took from the slaughtering department. I have cut my fingers more than I could remember and Kelan knows it best. So, he was always conscious of me whenever I go into deep thinking. The regeneration power is slightly decreasing. For example, whenever I got my finger cut, it didn't heal instantly. It took a whole day to recover. Remember the car accident I got into or should I say I made? That time my regeneration power was sky rocking. But as the days went the power is gradually falling. I know that what that means. The mad scientist I mean the doctor that old fart inside my head already told me about that. If I don't kill humans, I would die eventually. It is a slow process indeed. That's not bad than dying instantly. Right?

Oh, fun fact the road I occurred the accident is now known as the legendry tracksuit boy ghost. Various content creator people went there to get the gasp of the ghost boy but of course, they didn't find anything such. I wonder if I went there wearing the same tracksuit at night when they were filming, would they get afraid of me?

You might be thinking that my pain was gone now and I'm free from that. But you're not entirely correct. Indeed, my pain was kind of gone. But every night I feel that pain more or less. But it isn't that penetrating that it used to be. I got hardened by it.

"Here, Cut this one in big chanks, four by five. Please do it quickly."

One after one Kelan get the meats and put them in front of my table. He was in charge of this department. So, he was good at handling that.

"Today is more work than usual. The customers are coming rapidly. Was today a special day or something?" Kelan asked me without looking at me. He was constantly focusing on his work while speaking to me simultaneously. On the other hand, I was able to focus on one thing at a time.

"Not in my knowledge." I replied casually " but isn't it better to get more customers?"

"Yeah, It's definitely right. All of a sudden … that's problem… I mean it's hard to tackle such a rush. Even Mr. Heriss is having a hard time."

Kelan was right on spot. Today is more crowded than normal times. Was today a birth a noble man who eats meat on his birthday?

There is one person who I didn't know about. He works here but I hardly saw him. After some research and background checking… Ahem… I mean asking Kelan I get to know about this mysterious person. He is a college student just like me. He comes to work every morning before my shift starts. Kelan described him like this,

"uh, you're talking about Sutasi? He's quite skilled in handling knives. He works one or most two hours a day."

My reaction was like, "Only that much? Here I work my ass off in more than three hours."

"What he does in these two hours is more than a day's workload. In other words, his work equals your entire day of work." That's how Kelan explained to me.

First, I didn't believe in him. But one day I got a gasp of him working. What I saw was heavenly. How swiftly and beautifully he works. Cutting meat isn't that beautiful. But I mean spiritually. He was truly a child of a meat seller or butcher although I didn't know his dad's occupation.

As I was thinking weird stuff, I got a sudden reminder rang in my ears.

I promised Jessica that I'll meet her today. Was it possible in this midst of work?

I can't break my promise to her. Gotta finish the work as soon as possible. I rushed through the meat to finish it. Seeing me got so motivated, Kelan looked at me with astonishment.
