A Chance Of Freedom [4]

Mr. Lukas and I were eagerly waiting in front of the torture cell. Mr. Lukas said Renar would be here any moment soon and we didn't have to wait long. In a few minutes, a familiar figure was coming towards us. On his both right and left had two muscular guards. They have remote control things in hand.

You could ask a question like "why use humans to control the prison? Wouldn't it be risky for humans in the midst of all those dangerous brings?" The answer is simple, the guards are well equipped with weapons and they could always use the controller on their hand to paralyzed the prisoners. All the prisoners who entered the jail had a necklace around their neck. Whenever they activated it, a insense amount of electricity flow into their body and ends in their heart. They have no choice but to obey the guards. On the other hand, the controller can't be used without the help of guards. To be more precise, only the guards can use that. It's also an invention of Ms. Clara. She's a genius in this field. I wonder how much she could invent.

As Renar is labeled as a Level two. We needed to be much careful handling him. Perhaps, that's the reason for the two extra guards coming with him. Mr. Lukas said something about preparation earlier but I haven't got a clue. He was grinning while looking at Renar. It was so much that he's emitting a creepy aura.

"So, you finally came. I thought you would reject my offer at the last minute." Mr. Lukas sure had a possibility for that. However, he also knows how to piss off people. Seeing his attitude Renar sneered, glazing at the cell door. Maybe he remembered his past. It was the same cell where he was held. It's been six months or more. There's no way he could forget those inhuman tortures.

"You don't have to wait long enough to meet your past friend." Saying that Mr. Lukas unlocked the door with a key card. With a swipe, the door began opening like a bank locker where all the money is stored. I felt like a heist here, trying to steal away the money."

"CREEAAK!!" With a huge sound, the door finally opened.

"Go now, Renar the child of Thirsty Wolves." What kind of title is that. Renar was stunned at first but then again giving no heed to Mr.Lukas's foul mouth, he forwarded and disappeared in the darkness. The fully astonished body of his, disappeared like a never-ending darkness. Mr. Lukas hurriedly ran into the next room where CCTV is placed. I also took his road. The two guards were left behind guarding the door. They have said nothing from the time they arrived to now. Were they too shy to say anything? Anyways, we got inside the monitoring room. Mr. Lukas had already prepared a chair for him. Why the arrangements? Are we going to watch a movie or so? Mr. Lukas was quite excited and I could gasp it from his smile. What the heck is with this guy? He gets excited all of a second and got serious. Whatever I also took a seat and gazed at the monitor that telecasts the CCTV footage.

As Renar entered the cell, the door closed from his behind. The room was dark but the light peeking from the outside made the room a bit bright but as the door closed the room went completely dark. Renar wasn't able to see but he got to see a bright pair of red eyes. The eyes of a monster. Unlike any other person who would freak out in this situation, Renar was well and composed.

Mr. Lukas had all the controls in his hands. "Now's the time!" Saying that Mr. Lukas pushed a button that lighted up the torture room. I felt like Renar was relieved seeing all the lights bumper up.

I gazed at the monitor attentively again.

"So, you're that so-called future of us. I thought you would be some kind of an arrogant brat. I mean when you got an enormous amount of power then that's a common thing." Jodan looked up from his downcast eyes. His eyes were more red than usual. I could see the bloodthirsty aura.

"Power? Huh?.... This is more like a curse than a power. " Renar stiffened for a second. He was walking around the room without seating on the chair in front of him. I asked a rather unusual question. "Sir, wouldn't it be better if we handcuffed him?" Mr. Lukas didn't say at first but he nodded a bit. "We did."

"Where?"

"It's invisible."

"I'm not getting it. Why would the handcuffs be invisible? Don't tell me you can only see it." The heck man!

"Don't get so worked up, Reyes. You'll get to know about it soon. Just be patient." Mr. Lukas gave me a warning and I restrained myself from going farther.

Feeling pissed I eyed at the monitor.

"You sure a wimpy kid. Who thought a little boy like you stuck inside this cage and chopped off his limbs is the FUTURE? That's absurd!" Renar was getting the point. "If only….if...only...I had the system, I would destroy this goddamn prison and get out here! I wouldn't spare a single one of those guards!" Renar shouted with a high-pitched voice. He was getting more intense.

"I didn't choose the system. The system chose me."

"Huh?...the system chose you? The fu*k! If you wouldn't pick that diary or whatever that heck. You wouldn't be in this place. Moreover, you got yourself labeled as a murder. Wait who was It? A bit*th!" For the first time, Jodan glanced at Renar with truly angry eyes.

Well, Mr. Lukas had already provided Renar all the paperwork to make things smooth. Mr. Lukas never looked away from the monitor screen not even for once. Renar was making Jodan pissed and he was getting successful, however, he might get violent and I was right.

"I see, you got a soft side for that bit*ch. What should I say? You're are surely one of us. I'm convinced. " Renar made a sneering look and turned his right. "No human can do such things. First, you love someone and then kill him or her. What a symbol of love!" Renar was stepping forward where Jodan is out of reflex. I was about to call out of Mr.Lukas to stop him but when I glaze at him he was in his normal state enjoying the scenario. He was nodding and mumbling, "everything is going accounting to plan." This is getting more and more intense.

"And what's that old man about? If you're saying about the doc, I killed him with my own hands. There's no way he would be alive after that."

"...No...He's… He didn't talk to me for a while but he'll" Jodan was crying? I couldn't grasp it as he was looking straight down.

"You never experienced how I felt. How….how..would...you know?" Jodan said with a deep tone. "Have got betrayed by your own people and they left you in the hands of their opponent? You think you're great because of the little pain you got."

"..." Jodan didn't reply. "Answer me! Answer me you brat---" As Renar was getting close to Jodan an invisible wall formed and tackled him harshly. He was thrown apart on the floor far off.

I grinned at Mr. Lukas, "I see, that's the invisible handcuffs."

"You got it right, Reyes. Those are specifically made by Clara. She took the concept from Jodan's one. Remember when he crushed a truck while hugging a kid tightly. Clara was inspired by that power he used that time."

This is really handy. Mr. Lukas continued, "Not only Renar but no one expects humans can go through it. No matter how powerful he or she is."

That's an awesome creation. Renar finally figured out the wall. By standing up from the floor, he tried to anger Jodan more.

"Let me tell you Jodan, your love for that girl is nothing but an Instinct. Even if you think it as your undeniable love, when you lay the facts all that comes down is your monstrous Instinct."

"No…" Jodan roared In a mysterious tone. I never heard this voice nor Mr. Lukas. "I warn.. you...if..you say another word, I would crack your bones." I could see a dark aura forming around him. However, Renar didn't back up. "What the heck? How funny! A small kid in chains is threatening me? If you think you're mightly then come at me. I don't feel a little punch. Don't cry after getting hit----" Before Renar could finish his words, Jodan looked damn straight at his eyes with an astonishing amount of energy. For a moment the CCTV footage glitched. Mr. Lukas was interrupted by it greatly. What had happened? Sh*t. Mr. Lukas got worried and so did I. In a few seconds, we heard a shattering sound and it was loud as hell. We rushed to the torture cell and what we found was rather surprising. Before we could reach there the guards had already in a possible to fight. They were as worried as us. Mr. Lukas swiped the key card and we entered. The first thing we saw was fidgeting Renar on the ground and glasses shattered all over the place. I could hear Mr. Lukas saying, "He broke the invisible wall?" It was true, Jodan had broken the entire wall. At first glance, you could never feel that the wall ever exist. Renar seemed stunned as if he witnessed a devil. The guards took him out of the room. As he was living he said his last words in the direction of us.

"Don't challenge him. He's a demon in the shell of a human." Those were his parting words. I couldn't understand it nor did Mr. Lukas. What did it mean?
