Wind and Ink

Gorgo was still alive. The bullet had missed. The next one was unlikely to do so - Amanda had several pistols lined up on her belt and she prepared the next one without any hesitation, as quickly as only a woman scorned could.

Bastian had just enough sense left in his head to react by attacking, but in a gust of wind, Gorgo passed a distance of at least the length of a ship in seconds. It had to be that wicked magic he employed…but now there was some kind of a common thread here. Bastian could not put his finger on it, but he would be able to tell the type of Gorgo's magic from just a few interactions.

But the captain had already disappeared into the jungle that sprouted from the rocky terrain just a bit further from the shoreline.

Amanda let out an enraged roar.

"Thank you," Bastian said breathlessly. "How did you even know where I was?"
