Chapter 16. The Goblin settlement part 1

Miles reached a village close to where the goblin settlement was located , the people of Masar where living in fear due to the goblin settlement been so close to their village , They all knew it was a matter of time before the goblin came bringing destruction and chaos to their village and the only reason the goblins haven't attacked yet was because they where busy pillaging other village, so when they saw two adventurers sent to take care of the goblins they where brimming with joy treating them as their saviour .

They where immediately taking to meet the village chief , His settlement was in the middle of the village which symbolized the heart of the village .

The building resembled the village chief's settlement in Miles home town and seeing it got him nostalgic thinking of his village and his family.

But unlike the village chief in Liegae Masar's chief was much younger , He looked to be in his Thirty's he was tall with a well built body but no battle scars and a perfectly handsome and smooth face which was a dead give away that he had not experienced battle at least he wasn't a veteran , he wore battle armour which compared to all the armour in the guild been used by adventurers looked like second rate armour .

He wore a worried face and was making arrangement with some men dressed in armour , they looked more younger than the village chief and they seemed to be planing on defending the village from the incoming goblin attack and each one of them was so nervous they could not hide their expression even with their helmet on.

And Miles took the liberty of Assessing their strength .

The village chief was the strongest but he was still not strong enough , Due to his lack of battle experience he was weak compared to Darkish ( Liegae village chief ).

The village chief seemed to be to busy and stressed to notice them coming and was still busy planning when Miles introduced himself.

"Are you the village chief" ? Miles asked.

"Who is asking" ? Yerail asked angrily .

" We are adventurers from the Merveran guild and we are here to destroy the goblin settlement which have been plaguing the neighboring villages , and we will like to be informed about all we can know before we move to the settlement ", Miles explained.

Yerail was visibly happy with the news he heard doing a complete 180 in his expression and even his behaviour.

" Welcome adventurers my name is Yerail and I am the village chief of this village please take a seat" , Yerail said telling one of the villagers to bring refreshment for the adventurers.

Miles and Lilly where tired after the long hours spent on the road so they happily took the drink and ate happily all the food, when they were done Yerail explained to them all they knew of the goblin settlement.

According to him they were more than 200 goblins , 100 of them are armed with short sword or other types of weapon making them Melee range goblin while about 50 of them where ranged with weapons like arrows or spears , They were also armoured hobgoblins who where more bigger and more muscular than other goblins and their leader was classified as a goblin general more taller than a human and so muscular that all his body seemed to be made purely of muscles with enough strength to kill an average human in one blow.

After explaining the different types of goblin he also explained how they operated and how there wall was built.

"The goblin wall is around 15 meters tall and 2 meters wide and was built with timber so it is easy to set on fire with magic for a fire type mage or simply setting it ablaze , they are scout towers on the walls which goblins are stationed to stay on the lookout for an attack or an ambush , and there are 6 goblins in armour guarding the gate , no one of our scout have ever made it past the wall so we don't have information of what is going on inside" , Yerail explained .

When Miles had been given the information he needed he left the village into the forest and proceeded on his quest with Lilly tailing behind him .

When they where almost at the settlement they started running in to goblins , they where killed by Miles who never bathed an eye or even gave them a chance to alert the others , Lily seeing this side of Miles couldn't help but be dumfounded at how easily it is for him to kill , but she wasn't put off by it infact she found this heroic side of him quiet charming.

It was night when Miles got to the settlement ,He could now see a cleared path with no trees growing and the settlement of the goblin s , Miles moved with caution making sure to not get caught , thankfully as it was night time the goblins couldn't see really far.

"How are we going to get in "? Lilly asked .

" I have a 'skill' I can use" , Miles replied.

" A what .....do you mean ' Magic spell "? Lilly asked.

Miles nodded in confirmation realizing what the system called a skill was called a spell by adventurers.

" Stay low I will be right back ", Miles said using void jump to teleport him to one of the towers killing the goblin on the tower and using void jump to sneak into the settlement unnoticed.

And before Lilly could protest against him going alone he had already left.

Lilly was lost of words she had never seen a magic spell like that ,one moment he was around the next moment he had disappeared , she was amazed and shocked at the same time.

'What type of magic is that is it a wind type magic but how powerful would it be for him to just disappear like that' Lilly thought

Meanwhile in the settlement Miles was busy stealthly chopping down unlucky and unsuspecting goblin unfortunate enough to be seen by him , the disappearing and appearing just before he kills a goblin made him look like a ninja , Miles had leveled up twice and was pretty happy with his achievement , He was thinking the quest was going smoothly and if it carried on like this he would kill almost all of them before they noticed but alas his luck wasn't that good.

Miles used void jump appearing at the back of an unsuspecting goblin , Miles stabbed him in his stomach expecting him to fall to the ground but was shocked when the goblin looked him in the eyes and realised a blood curling scream before falling to its death.

The whole settlement went silent for a second before shouts and screams resounded through out the settlement coming closer to where Miles was.

" I really did it this time" Miles said while positioning him self in a defensive stance.
