chapter 45-Dont be like Eliza

The whole family was assembled at the dinning table for lunch. The king looked around the table and waited for sometime before asking." Where is Alex and Reina? "

"They went horseback riding." Ruth answered.

"When did he leave?"

"Two hours before noon." Ruth replied.

"And he hasn't returned since then." Eliza added.

William looked pleased." I see that Alex is fond of the girl , he has never brought a woman to see me before." He said.

Ruth didn't look one bit happy with what he had said." He isn't fond of her brother. "She said. "In fact I think that it is you who is fond of her."

William smiled." Of course I am , she's such a sweet and lovely woman and also very easy to get along with ."

"You're right father she is very humble and doesn't brag about the things she has and is contented with what she has ; unlike some." Leyla said looking pointedly at Eliza." And I am happy that brother Alex brought her here to meet us." She added.

Eliza was burning with angry and jealousy. If Reina were here she would have strangled here to death, she wanted them to talk about her begin good for Alex not that stupid little girl and with princess Leyla continuous baiting it would be impossible for them to even notice her. Her fingers tightened around her wine glass.

"Well said lady Leyla, lady Reina is such a sweet and nice person that it is impossible not to like her." Daniel said.

Leyla smiled at him sweetly. "I know she is very pretty and is very capable. I think brother Alex made a good decision choosing her to be his wife."

The sound of glass chattering made everybody's attention draw to Eliza who had broken the glass that was in her hands.

Ruth took Eliza hand that was bleeding." Eliza , are you OK? "

"Am fine." Eliza responded, the angry in her engulfed the pain that was in her hands." Its just a flesh wound. "

Ruth didn't seem to hear her as she was closely examining her palm." It looks deep and I am sure that there are some glass particles inside your palm. Adam!" She called her son who was sitting opposite them and close to Daniel. "Call the physician here immediately!" She ordered.

Adam immediately went out and told the nearest guard to call the physician.

"What happened? How did you break your glass?" Ruth said trying to sound deftly.

"I held the glass too tight ,but I didn't know that my grip on the glass was too tight and it had a crack on it." She responded.

"What were you thinking about that made you apply pressure on your glass?" Leyla asked.

"I wasn't thinking about anything the glass had a crack and it wasn't strong that was why it broke." Eliza responded, she was getting irritated with this annoying princess.

Leyla didn't reply but just gave her a knowing smile and continued eating her food.

The room was in a hushed silence when the physician came in to attend to Eliza." Milady please come with me." The woman said.

"Come on Eliza let's go." Ruth said.

Eliza got up abruptly staring at Leyla with pure rage in her eyes before walked out of the room with Ruth and Adam.

"That wasn't nice Leyla." Her father told her when Eliza had left the room. "I didn't expect such behavior from you."

"But father i-"

"No buts." He said sternly." Next time I will not tolerate such unruly behavior." He said coldly." I hope I am making myself clear?"

Leyla lowered her eyes." Yes father." She replied hurt.

William sighed , he leaned forward and took her hand in his." I am not disappointed in you dear, I am not just happy about your behavior towards Eliza , I know that she deserves it ; but you shouldn't stoop so low to her level. You're better than that." He smiled at her.

Leyla looked at her father with tears in her eyes." I know father , you always correct a person in a good and a bad way. I am just so fed up with her and her useless tricks; she has been coming to the castle for years and have been trying her absolute best to win Alex attention and become his wife , and Alex have told have times without number that he had no interest in her. But she just kept coming back and now that Lady Reina is here with him and he have clearly made it known to is that he is going to marry her , Eliza is now making it her mission to embarrass her ; if not that aunt Ruth is protecting her and her father's position to us as your good friend I would have thrown her out of her myself." She said angrily.

"I know what you mean princess , but you have been tolerating her for a very long time ,why are you behaving like this to her so suddenly?" Daniel asked her.

"Because back then Alex didn't have anyone in his life and I thought that maybe Alex would have interest in her so that is why I tolerated her. But now he has Reina and I can see in his eyes that he loves her to the limit and I don't like it when someone tries to intimidate someone that is close to us." She replied.

William smiled at his daughter. "We are very lucky to have someone like you on this family."

She smiled , then she suddenly remembered one missing person, she turned to look at Daniel. "Daniel where is Steven?" She asked changing the topic.

"Prince Alex sent him on an errand." Hr replied.

"Where did he send him to?" She asked.

"I don't know for sure but I think he sent him to the library that is at the capital. "He replied.

Leyla nodded." Why would brother Alex send Steven to the library when there is one in here?" She asked.

"I don't know milady." Daniel replied and bent to focus on his lunch.

She turned to her father. "Daddy ,how old is the library at the capital?" She asked.

"It's more than three hundred years old and have more history and details than the one that we have in the palace." William said." I think that is enough of the questions, come let's eat our lunch before it grows cold." He added.

Leyla smiled and started eating her food with one question in her mind What does brother Alex what from the library?' Something was going on and she would gave to find out what.
