chapter 37-The first meeting

"I think that she is Sofia's daughter." Eliza said.

"We haven't yet verified it , so I'll advise you not to jump into conclusion." Lucius said.

"But why would her father his her for all these years ; if not that he is hiding something." Eliza looked at Lucius as he sat on a chair and was busy flipping the pages of the book.

"I see your point there Eliza, but it is good to be sure." He said.

"If Ethan were here ,it would have been easier for us." Ruth said.

"You are right about that Ruth , Ethan was a master at con, he could easily trick people into believing anything he wanted them to believe. It was too bad that he couldn't use the trick on his little sister." He placed the book neatly on the stool close to where he was sitting.

"Lady Sofia is something else ,who would have thought that she was that clever, she always acted so stupid and naive in front of people." Ruth added.

" Let's come back to the matter at hand." Lucius said." In a few days time the palace will be hosting a party in honor of the late queen and am sure that the girl will be there , I will disguise myself to see for myself if the girl is really Sofia's offspring; and until then you'll need to keep an eye on her and notify me on any strange behaviour no matter now small." They both nodded in agreement." You must to return to the castle , before that start suspecting. "He concluded.

"Yes , we should both be going." Ruth said and tagged Eliza along with her as they quietly left the house.

He was still seated when they left the house ,Reina Drummond, why hadn't heard of her before? If she was really Sofia's daughter it would change everything.

For years on no end he had been searching for one the three gifted. If he could capture one of them and have their powers he could become the grand duck of hell.

Why would God gift a child with such divine abilities? He could have given it to a person who could use it. Maybe the girl didn't know how to use her abilities , he would have to capture her quickly before she knew about her abilities and how to use them.

He smiled when he remembered Sofia's beautiful face the first day they met, it was another sunny day and he had decided to stroll in the forest.

He could feel the breeze of is hair and felt at peace, he always loved it in the forest ,he always loved the sound of the birds chirping, and the breeze ,it was a peaceful paradise.

A snap of a ting interrupted his peaceful thinking , tilting his head to face bright blue eyes like the sky above.

The woman in front of him looked absolutely terrified, her midnight dark hair was loose and tumbled down her waist her clothes were from as if she had been attacked by an animal.

"Are you alright?" He asked the woman whose eyes were swollen from crying. "What happened to you?"

"Pl-please help me." She cried and hugging him tightly.

"Who did this to you?" He asked.

She tried to open her mouth but closed it as a sob escaped from her lips.

"Shh." He patted her head gently." Listen please , I need you to tell me what happened to you and who you are; so that I can help you OK. "He said raising her head.

She nodded trying to pull herself together." It was vampires. "She murmured between sobs." They attacked our village last night , they killed so many of our people and my parents."

"Are they the ones that did this to you." He asked.

She nodded." Yes, one of them attacked me, but I was saved by my father." She said.

"Are you the only one left?" He asked.

" Yes, me and my brother and some few villagers managed to escape." She said.

Lucius looked around to see if there was anyone around ,but i t seemed like she was only." Where is your brother? " he questioned.

"I don't know, we were both running in the forest trying to escape when I stopped running I saw that he was no longer with me. We must have both ran in different directions, and I tried to retrace my steps but I got lost." She answered." Please mister help me to find my brother, he is the only family that I have. "She please looking at him with her beautiful blue eyes.

"Don't worry , I'll help you to find him. But first you have to come with me , you must be very tried and hungry from all the running ; a you might need some food ,rest and also a change of clothing." He said.

"What about my brother?" She asked.

"We'll find him ,but first you need to tale care of yourself." He replied.

"You promise that you'll help me find my brother?" She asked carefully.

"I promise." He responded.

He started heading back and she was following him from behind.

"Mister what is your name." She asked innocently.

He smiled warmly. " it's Lucius. "He responded.

"Well, mister Lucius, my name is Sofia. "She replied.

He smiled when he remembered the incident that brought him to Sofia , she was s pure and innocent woman and he wondered why life was so cruel to her; anytime he thought of her he was always sad because Sofia's happiness didn't last. And now he was sure that her daughter happiness wasn't going to last long.

"Enjoy you happiness while it last Reina Drummond." He said pucking up the book he had earlier dropped." Because very soon you'll end up like your mother." He smiled deviously, as the saying so like mother like daughter.
