Pre-prom

It was a Monday. I was currently in my room watching TV. School has been bustling with the talk of one thing. Prom. Let's do a recap.

One. Because the fact I killed the 'Nomads' Bella was never hurt nor did they leave forks. In the movies it wasn't mentioned, but it took Bella a few months to be freed from the hospital. Her leg was snapped like a twig and she did loose lots of blood along side other fractures.

The months that passed were peaceful with everyone just doing them. Me and Alice had multiple dates along with her visiting and playing with Mia. Those moments were the cutest and funniest because they were both goofballs.

There were still times were she snuck over and we had some 'alone' time. I have also had a few competitions with Emmett and Jasper. We did arm wrestling, races, and sometimes we had spares were it always came down to me or Jasper.

Jasper may have had an advantage with experience, but if your opponent out classes you in all fields all scheming and tactics are useless. Though it did take a while for me to adapt to how he fought, but with my DNA change my primal instincts kicked in making me adapt as I fought. This surprised everyone as they knew Jasper was a former soldier.

While this was happening I gave myself a lot of physical changes. My nails can retract out like claws and the same for my teeth but they are fangs. I also wanted to enhance my eyes to not see further but through things so I could find my target directly instead of searching if they ever try to hide.

This lead me to developing a reverse infrared vision. Infrared vision works by taking the light emitted from the sun or a heat source and splitting the electrons based off of how much heat it gives off and sends it back like a picture or a silhouette of the object.

With this knowledge I just had to revise it so that it sends back all the cooler things to me instead of the hotter things. This actually required the use of two thought processes. I had to analyze how to reverse infrared light into my eyes while using the other to make sure I don't get cataracts.

Cataracts is the most common eye disease associated with near infrared radiation, which is what my eyes and nerves will be coming into full contact with also amplifying the effect because of my enhanced vision.

Once I made this I felt good with my strength. Over the months I hadn't stopped improving myself even once, especially when Alice is doing her sweets tasting. I also noticed that Alice is very possessive. The other Cullens wanted some of my blood from the sweet/desert tasting and she shut it down immediately telling them it was something met for only us to share.

It partially was because when my parents are on business trips she would come over and we would use this time helping her learn to cook. It was sort of special because we always had fun while making a mess even Mia was sleep so we were alone doing this.

That's how the months went with me getting stronger and having a nice time. Truly the perfect life. Well, for now anyway.

Back to the present. I was watching a movie till I heard my name being called down stairs.

"Zane, Alice is here." I got out of bed in my robe. Though it was a Monday it was a sunny Monday. The Cullens weren't going to school and if Alice ain't there neither am I. I got out of school by making my cells have 'allergic' reaction. I have a stuffed nose and my throat is a bit itchy.

Though when I'm alone I make it go away only looking sick when my mom of dad comes around to check up on me. Even with all the bullshit their jealous superiors throw on them they still make checks on me for a few minutes. They are amazing parents.

I walked down the stairs with messy hair and my nose was red. I had on a wolf fur robe with only boxers on and black socks. I came downstairs and saw Alice with Mia.

Almost forgot Mia is now three years old. Her birthday was a week after Bella was released from the hospital. We had a shopping spree and she asked me out one date. It was my sister and and she was just turning three so it was just her wanting to be around me more since I've mainly been with Alice a lot.

"Alice, come on I'm going to get you sick." I said with my stuffy nose and my eyes were watering. She laughed lightly and jumped up putting Mia down. I pat Mia's head and tossed Alice over my shoulder while slowly walked up to my room. My mom was in the kitchen cleaned up the breakfast we had and dad was doing work or playing games on his phone.

We got to my room and my whole posture changed. I looked perfectly fine like I wasn't being poisoned. I put Alice down on the bed and went back under the covers. Even though I wasn't sick the cover was always kept warm thanks to the heat on my body.

"Zane, why didn't you come over today?" Alice asked as she slipped out of her shoes and slid under the blanket. I started thinking and had to ask myself.

'Why didn't I go over? ...Oh right." I then remembered why and looked at Alice snuggling up to me and said "When I made myself sick being in bed made it 100x more comfortable than normal and I just stayed in bed all day watching movies and eating junk." I finished with a sheepish smile.

"Since you like junk so much maybe we should buy more junk when we do the sweets tasting." Alice said with a thinking expression. I looked at her wide eyed. She wanted more it's really a good thing vampires digestive system is frozen in time as well or Alice would have a huge ass stomach ache.

I only kept quiet to that asked "Did you want to talk about something or did you come to just see sick old me?" I joked getting a blank look from Alice. She sighed and said "I wanted to ask you about prom." I looked at her and said "It's a surprise." Her eyes shined with excitement and curiosity.

I already had it planned out. I had a spot and the whole night set up and planned. I kept it all a secret from everyone I wanted it to be a huge surprise. For this I also focused more so on my speed than strength so I can get there fast. Though to set it up I had to focus dearly on strength.

I wanted prom to be something she would remember and never forget even if vampires didn't have a perfect memory. It wasn't my first prom. In my past life I had one it was okay but dancing was weird to me so I just drunk a lot and let Jesus take the wheel.

As I thought about this Alice was looking at me in a daze. I didn't know what she was thinking but I k is it was good or at least hoped so.

"I really, really, really love you Zane." Alice happily and quickly said. She hugged me tight and we had a nice make-out session spending the rest of the day at my house till we were about to eat when she left thirty minutes before that.

'Tuesday will be prom. God I'm so excited.' I thought while taking a big bite from my fish sandwich. It was fried fish with lettuce, cheese, mayonnaise, and banana peppers. It was amazing with fries and onion rings on the side.

I then went back to my room and watched more movies till I lost against my sleepiness and dozed off.
