You slow piece of garbage I love you and your story so please just update faster. Come on it’s been almost a month since the last update. How is this not 140 characters yet?

Unfortunately can't bring myself to like this, I tried but it just isn't doing it for me. I'm not feeling anything from what I'm reading so far and without the horror factor, it's really not a top tier novel. To the point I've read from the start, it has yet to grab my attention and give me that "I want to keep on reading" feeling. It doesn't help that I'm tired of these "XXX Manager" type of novels such as Gourmet of Another World and Black Tech Cafe. They're not bad per say, just not my type of novels. Barely got to 300 chapters for the previous ones, only because I like food and games. Horror though I have no interest in, and even if I did, I'm not getting any thrills like other people claim to have. Felt more eerieness from certain moments in Lord of the Mysteries than anything I've read so far in this one. I'm not undermining the author and translator's effort, I'm sure for the people who got hooked in the first place, this is a wonderful novel. Not my cup of tea though, and I figured I'd leave my view point in this sea of spammed 5 star reviews by the same accounts.

I kid you not when I say this is the best book on Webnovel. Everything is very well organized and the plot is interesting. You think it’s not that scary and then you realize you don’t want to go into dark places, because you think a ghost is going to get you.

Really creative horror novel, pretty unique in it's kind as the main character is not always the one suffering but sometimes the one making the horror.

I love how the author includes historical Chinese aspects in the story instead of just names and locations. There was some kind of research done to make this novel and its something I highly appreciate. If I could, I would make a sound track dedicated to this novel so readers can listen to it while experiencing the thrill of the story. 5/5 I highly recommend.

Everything about this book is just amazing. 2 years of reading, it worthed every second. Characters: the development of the MC was slow but stady. He was not an OP MC. He needs the help from his people but he achievemented the best outcome. However, I think Chen Ge is the strongest and the smartest MC among the novels I ever read because as a normal human his decisions were always the best way. More importantly, the side characters were described well too they have thier story and plot. Storyline: This novel executed the storyline so well. There was a reason behind every situation. The readers can understand what is goingon. Honestly, I don’t hate any villains in the story because they are all too the victim and have their own back story. Plot: the development of the story was perfectly described too. It has the right amont of evehrything, horror, mystery, humor, comady, tragedy, phycological and romance. I’m glad that I don’t drop this because I can’t handle the horror scenes at first. Otherwise, I will miss this great novel. GIVE IT A TRY YOU DEFINITELY LOVE IT!!!

I really like this book. it wasn’t like any of the others where it is common to see the same plot. I can’t really say anything else without spoiling it. I can say this is original, not one of the common plots that you keep seeing in many novels. Also I finished this book using translated raws. Has anyone got any good suggestions on any new novels that is similar to this?

This is something else, it's by far the best thing I've ever read. Although coming up with some of these ideas would make me never want to see the author in a dark alleyway. Funny to read at daytime, not advised to read at night.

I've been reading webnovels from East Asia since 2016 and trust me when I say that this novel is the best Chinese Novel you'll ever find out there. I used to dislike horror back in the day too, but wow this author had the most eureka moment of adding System to Horror. The story revolves around an owner of a haunted house that received the System to upgrade his haunted house by investigating horror stories provided by it. Every mission is a complete story of its own and even better, one story connects to another and eventually forms a giant web that all came from one spider. You will never get bored at all as the author spends no time wasted on dragging the story out or even transitions, because each story is connected to each other and you'll barely notice that it already transitioned on to another miniarc in a single chapter. There are a lot of reoccurring characters, especially the police, that gives them plenty of time to grow on you, something that's totally impossible in cultivation novels. Which is a fitting comparison because the power level actually keeps on getting more and more scary and dangerous, but the author manages to keep the relevance of the weak noncombatant characters since they're all humans and the ghosts are rarely able to talk. The icing on the top is that IT UPDATES TWICE A DAY! Definitely recommend this, please try it out.

After years of reading translated Webnovels. This is the first one that has blew my mind with how well it's written. The author throws away many of the cliches that plague eastern Webnovels. The horror is expertly written, with just enough dry humor that brings a little levity to the bone chilling action. Characters are fully fleshed out with personality. Even some side characters that are almost forgotten come back with full backstories, helping to build a world full of suspense and mystery.

Temperature suddenly dropped. The door opened, revealing a scary man holding a blood drenched hammer. He had several scary looking shadows behind him. Oh! Don't be scared, if you are a nice human, he is your savior! If you are a specter with unfulfilled wish, he will fulfill your wish! Overall, he is a good person. Just a has a weird habit of collecting ghosts as his employees. But who cares? We are here to see him dealing with evil specters and persons, and get our world peace. (a sort of specter favored avenger) Full support for boss Chen Ge! And yes, don't develop feelings for him, otherwise something scary will happen to you!

hmm... this is the first horror novel which I read so far!! usually I would drop it about 10 to 20 chapter, this novel best and the translator doing good job with his/her work!! it's just the author need to focus on scaring people, not on mission!! hopefully no murder mission again since it would be like a loop!! by the way Zhang Ya need spank a little lol!~ eehh... what are y-

These many chapters in I have to say I am spooked, thrilled and enthralled ... I have read many ghost/horror stories ... This one will rank in the top of my list ... I grew up listening to all kind of ghost stories and later became an avid fan of reading all sorts of them ... I have to say I am getting goosebumps to read a novel of this genre and also a spookilious one at that ... I hope the quality will be maintained throughout the novel and my craving for a true blue horror story will be fulfilled ... Thanks🎃🎃

This is an amazing horror novel. There are repeats as everyone said and they take up 4 to 5 chapters. Our protagonist is brave and rational. It's funny how everyone misunderstands him. Horror in this novel is the real deal, it is not our ghosts jumpscaring or disturbing gory elements. It is appropriately scary. Hope I can find more horror novels like this.
