(Chapter 1)

Arabella Parker

The funeral had just finish and I was still here watching the two tomb infront of me, I wanted to cry again but I think I had drained all my tears for crying every night, every minute and every hour if I think of them because there's no tears coming out, I can't believe they're gone permanently.

I'm about to leave when two police officers approach me and they explain some details about my parents death they said it was a complete robbery after that they leave

And now I was in my room packing my things up because aunt Lucy will fetch me later

I open my drawer on a bedside table to get some things to bring for my one week or so vacation at my aunt's place, when I saw a small white envelope Inside I took it and check if it's mine but there's no name of the sender but it is addresses to me and immediately open it and it's from dad so I read it

" Dear Arabella;

Our daughter, always remember your mom and I love you so much and I'm sorry for leaving you this letter we just don't have any much time I'm really sorry for leaving you like this my dear I know you're a smart, intelligent, strong yet sweet,

anyway sweetie if you read this letter please be careful don't trust anyone, as long as they didn't know about you you're safe, and someone will help you but she will find you soon enough"

"what does it mean?" I asked myself after I read the letter

"and where would I find the box?" I asked again and look for a box inside maybe dad also put it in here and I'm not mistaken I found an unfamiliar small golden box at the end inside the drawer looks like dad really hide it

How or when did it hapened? maybe dad wrote the letter before the incident happened and maybe this is not truly a robbery but a murder?

and for the record my room was the only one untouched by those men who killed my parents

actually my room was unnoticeable dad used to use this room before as a mini library and a study room but I asked him if I can take it as my room when I was nine years old but before he agreed he gave me a problem to solve it's a code actually and I must decode it before my birthday's end it's exactly five days until my birthday comes.

the door bell rang finally aunt lucy arrived I rush down to open the door but to my disappointment it's not aunt lucy

"hello? how may I help you?" I asked him

"I'm here for Arabella Parker" he said directly

"why?" I asked and he's about to answer when my phone ring aunt lucy is calling I answered it

"hello" I said

"yes dear does sebastian arrive?" -she asked

"sebastian the driver? yes aunt lucy his already here" I answered

"okay and I'm sorry for the sudden change of plan he's the one will fetch you, I just can't leave here now it's kinda busy, anyway I gotta go, sebastian will bring you here at the mansion first, I'll see you here my dear bye for now" she said

"okay aunt Lucy see you" I replied and hang up the call

and now I'm sitting inside the car while sebastian is driving and later on for how many hours of driving we enter in a big gate I saw a fountain at the infront of tha mansionI'm speechless of how big and beautiful this mansion is, and I saw a lot of cars parked different kinds of cars actually

Anyway we didn't stop in front of the main door we go straight at the back then when the car stop sebastian help me of my luggage

"Go straight inside that door, it's the kitchen I'm sure your aunt is there" sebaatian said and I just nod and say thank you to him after that he leave

I started walking inside the door is already open so I enter and saw how Chaotic but still neat and Organize the kitchen I'am amaze how professionally the workers here, I was standing right now and watch them when someone grab my hand and put me in a hug

"oh, Arabella I missed you, but I'm sorrf we're really busy right now"

it's aunt lucy so I hug her back

"it's okay I undderstand"

I said to her and we let go of the hug then a lady in a chef Uniform come running towrd us

"He's looking for you, he's in the buffet table"

she said while catching his breath

"okay thanks Cindy"

aunt lucy said to her

"Arabella, Cindy will escourt you to my room you can rest there for awhile and tomorrow I show you to my place"

aunt lucy said to me too and she's about to leave when I stop her

"wait aunt lucy while I'm here I can help what can I do?" I said

aunt lucy was about to say something when Cindy cut her and said

"it's perfect she can help me decorate the cup cakes they requested, it's a lot of it I will appreciate if she can help me just this time"

"I would love to" I said directly

aunt lucy protested but I insist so she leave no choice

and then Cindy gave me a black apron and I put my hair into a messy bun,

I have knowledge about baking so decorating is bot a big deal for me

then cindy left to bring some finished cup cakes on the buffet section and I left in the kitchen with some chefs and their assistants

while I was seriously decorating some cup cakes I feel someone's presence near me and I look in that direction and saw a guy standing there looking at me with his armani suit he looks good on it he looks like a model or a hollywood actor I guess he's two or three years older than me but he has an intimidating aura it's a bit scary

"uhm---"

before I could say any further he cut me off

"who are you, and what are you doing here?"

he asked me with his brow crossed

"I- uhm- I-I just want to help" I said

why am I stuttering?

because he looks scary like any minute he will eat me alive for trespassing in his kitchen and before he could say anything Cindy arrive and run beside me and said

"Young Master she is Lucy's niece she just arrived thirty minutes ago and she offered to help"

"No, she can't help I don't let someone in my kitchen unless it's a professional you know that Cindy and I'm sure you can do your job just fine unless you don't want this job anymore well I won't hesitate to fire you"

he said to Cindy

why he's so mean?? and then he looked at me and said

"and you stay out of the kitchen"

what is his problem? he want me out? then fine

without any word I take off the apron and walked out

what a jerk, whoever he is I don't like him period and when I said I don't like him I really mean it

I'm just walking to nowhere when I saw a firefly flying infront of me so I stop and looked around me, I'm in the garden and it's beautiful, this Mansion has a lot of beautiful things but that guy earlier is an exceptional he's a handsome guy but he has an atittude

Anyway I saw a bench at the side and sit over there I felt exhausted once I have seated, there's nothing wrong if I sleep right here right?

Everyone is busy for the party so I guess no one will come at this place because I will just take a nap
