Kheanna's POV

Hi! I'm Kheanna Sanches, a 15-year-old girl from Ilocos Sur! But my Papa said that I'll study in Manila for Highschool. We just moved in a month ago and I already miss my hometown.

I'm already in my third year of high school next week and since I'm a transfer student, I'm a little bit shy to interact with other students. I wish I'll be in the same class with my cousin so I won't be lonely.

"Khe, sweetheart! Come and have your snack." My mom shouted from the balcony. I put down the book that I have been reading and went down.

I saw my mom and dad sitting in our mini garden. Papa was reading a newspaper and Mama was sewing some of my clothes. Even if my family was wealthy, we would always choose a simple life. No judgment from people and no toxicity. Just pure happiness and a great family.

I walked towards them and kissed them on their cheeks. "Hi, Mama! Hi Papa! Wow, the food looks so tasty," I commented which made my mom chuckle. "Any food is tasty to you sweetheart,"

"Especially when you are the cook Ma! Can we have carbonara next time??" She thinks for a second then smiled.

"Sure, when your papa will buy the ingredients that I need." I just nodded in response and ate my portion of Ginitaan.

"Sweetheart, when will your class starts again?" My dad asked and put down the newspaper to eat with us.

"It will be on Monday Pa, time do flies so fast. I hope I'll be in the same class with Maria." I said and finished my food.

"I'll drive you to school or you'll go with Maria?" I was thinking of going with Maria so we can catch up a little.

"I'll go with Maria, Pa." He didn't respond and finished his food.

I went back to my room so I can continue reading my book. I took it from my table and started to read. I was in the middle of the story when my phone suddenly vibrated. I set aside the book and took out my phone.

It was a message from my cousin, she sent me a picture. I opened it and I think it's the list of students per section. I looked for my name and there! I'm part of the Ivory section and Maria is my classmate, Yes! I looked at the column of the boys hoping to find someone I know. I found some which were part of my elementary years but one name stands out from the list.

"Mikael Rojo" I said as I read that name. It sounds familiar like I've heard that name before. Huh? I'll just see it on the first day.

I immediately called Maria so we can a small girl talk.

("Hey Khe! You've seen it??") She said after answering my call.

"Yass girl! And we're classmates!" We screamed in happiness, we look so crazy right now.

("Are all your things settled already? Even your first-day speech?")

Huh?? Speech? Why would I need that?

"Damn you! What first-day speech are you blabbering about huh?"

("What else? It will be the introduce your self segment, duh your a transfer student remember?") Sometimes I really want to hit her hard for teasing me.

"Of course I remember duh," I said and rolled my eyes "Oh, right I forgot to tell you that I'll go with you on Monday."

("And why? Can't Uncle take you to school?")

"He can but I just want to go with you since you know the school more than I do," I answered and I can sense she rolled her eyes.

("Fine, just don't be late.")

"Yes, I won't." I ended the call and open my social media accounts. I planned to stalk some of my new classmates, I first stalked those who are not familiar to me.

"Hmm, they got good looks. But maybe evil on the inside." I thought while scrolling on their timelines.

I'm almost done stalking half of the class when I decided to know if who owns that familiar name. I searched it and there were many choices.

Does all this belong to him?

I just clicked on the first profile and it matched! His picture looks like it was taken in elementary for how thin and small he is.

He surely looks familiar, like I've seen him somewhere before.

My thoughts will be answered on Monday when I'll see him in person. I put down my phone and did a little stretch.

"Mmm, it's getting kind of boring here now. Maybe I'll go for a walk in the park today." I changed my clothes into high waist short and an oversize shirt. I took my phone and wallet before going out.

I have a bike but today, I just prefer to walk. The weather is nice, it's kind of cloudy but the breeze is so cooling. It makes me feel relaxed.

The park is located in the middle of this subdivision which is just a few blocks away from our house. As I was walking down the street, a puppy suddenly barks at me.

"Poochie, where are you going?" A lady said while running towards the dog. Poochie? Cute name.

Instead of being scared of it, I look at it with awe because it was so fluffy and small. I took its leash so it won't run away again.

"Is this your dog ma'am?" I asked and hand out the leash.

"Yes! Thank you so much." She answered and took it. The lady was in her mid-20's since her skin looks so young.

"You're welcome! Please hold on to it tightly so it won't get loose again." I smiled and pat the puppy's head.

"Will do! Thanks again!" I waved them goodbye and when I was supposed to turn to the other side, I suddenly bumped into someone. I crashed to the floor because of the impact.

"Ow! That hurts.." I groaned in pain and held my hip.

"I'm sorry miss! Let me help you," the person who bumped into me said and gave me a hand. I just accepted it and he helped me stand up.

"Please watch where you're going. My hips really hurt so bad." I exclaimed and didn't look at him. I remove the dust behind my shorts and massage my hips.

"I'm very sorry Miss, here's a coupon for the new open ice cream parlor near this subdivision. It will serve as compensation for hurting your hips." He said which made me look at him.

Wait...I think I saw him somewhere.

"Uhmm, miss? Can you stop staring? It is making me uncomfortable." I came back to my senses and apologized for my manner.

"Have we met before?" I asked which made him confused.

"I just saw you today." He answered

"Hmm, you look familiar." I raised my left eyebrow while observing his features.

"O...kay, I'll get going then." He handed me the coupon and walked away. I shouted "thank you" before he could vanish from my sight.

Yey! A free ice cream coupon today! How lucky! But it does feel like I've met him before...
