Meta Ability.

The simplest term to describe the mutations of humanity when they first manifested. 

Most called it a disease. Something that needed to be nipped out quick. Many were cursed with abnormalities that destroyed their lives before society found ways soften how we see them.

Quirks. Such a fun term. So personal.

But to one man, his Quirk...no...Meta Ability, had almost nothing to do with his personality.

If it did. It reflected how fast he wanted the man who killed his entire family... to die. 

[Gearshift]

Allows the user to control the velocity of anything on contact. A simple sounding ability. 

One For All is far from simple. A century of stockpiled power evolved the Meta Ability to a whole new scale. Affecting speed on a cellular level. 

It's original user, the 2nd holder of OFA. Kudo. His proficiency only worked on small objects. 

Thanks to Toshinori Yagi for growing the raw strength. Now in the hands of Izuku Midoriya. Raised it into an entirely different league.

In the face of a Nomu Meteor, he couldn't pull any punches. And with 8 quirks at his beck and call he knew he couldn't hold back here.

Placing a hand on his chest, everything slowed down for Deku and it began.

Deku: [Gearshift]

Activating the 2nd oldest ability first was the key. His perception was increased as every cell in his body and mind matched speed. Though this was only the start of the plan.

Deku: [Blackwhip] - Instant Overlay!!!

Gearshift not only affects physical speed of targets. Over time, Deku discovered he can use it to affect the activation speed of his other Quirks.

The next instant Midoriya was encased in weave of dark tendrils covering his body. Wrapping around him, encasing and reinforcing his body inside and out. If anyone saw this form, could mistake him as a...monster.

Speaking of which, the Nomu Meteor still on course, Izuku made his following move the most decisive.

Deku: Fa-Jin!

Performing hundreds upon hundreds of squats and push-ups with his increased speed in prompt. The kinetic energy built cracks the surface beneath the hero while surrounding him in a dense red aura.

Deku: Now! Fa-Jin!!! Float!! Full Throttle!!!!!!!

The hero would rocket himself at the threat with speeds a human shouldn't be capable of. 

Since becoming a fully-fledged hero, he had became a master of utilizing his multiple Quirks.

Upon reaching the epicenter of the monstrous creation, the only thing Deku had left to do was only thing that mattered in the face of danger.

Smile.

Deku: Smash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Even if you were watching Deku from his position, nothing would be seen or felt until the next breath. Not a blur. Streak. No sign that he moved in the slightest. 

Just there, and then he wasn't.

The force that was felt across the country scattered the clouds, broke windows miles aways, and pulverized the monster in its entirety. 

What was almost another tragedy, turned into a show of pure resilience. Like All Might before them, every hero that day earned their title as such. 

And of All Might's apprentice. He would be found by his best friend and rival, Dynamight, in the worst of shape. Having chosen sacrificed his own arm in an instant. Picking him up, he starts angrily berating him and rushing to reach help.

Bakugo: Deku!!!! You always gotta rush in like an idiot!!! Now look!! If you think I'm gonna let a dumb-looking meteor be the cause of you kicking it, you better overthink again!!! 

Deku: I was following...y...youur...example.

A weak voice comes from the young man. Even with losing his an entire arm, shows his friend reverence. How Bakugo was the first to make the move against the seemingly impossible threat.

Midoriya would then fall silent while on his partners back.

Bakugo: Deku? DEKU!!!!!!!!!!

With hospital still intact the next few days were absolutely crucial for the One For All user. 

Everyone's first thought was where is Eraser Horn.

His promising sidekick Eri rarely uses her Quirk and focuses on melee suppression to deal villains. Preserving her horn's power was paramount to most dire of situations.

Her mentor. The most powerful hero losing a limb, was one of them. 

However...

Bakugo: "No...how...what happen to your horn?!!!!!!!!!"

The young hero Eraser Horn, weeps, as her horn seen...broken. 

Eri: "There was so much happening when the evacuation started. I lost focus and..."

Bakugo: "Don't you see what's happening now?!!!!! Deku!!! Your mentor needs you now!!!!"

Dynamight true to his name, couldn't control his anger against the young woman. Her quirk, being the only thing that could restore his best friend.

Kota: "Sir, it's not her fault. She was covering my ass!!! One of slime things was on our tail during evac!! If it wasn't for her, my head would be gone!!"

Katsuma: "Please, don't be mad at her!! She was doing her best!!! If you need a healer, I'm right here..."

Bakugo: "Enough!!!"

The hero had enough of their answers. 

While he had accepted them. The situation itself was still far good. 

Bakugo: "Your healing won't do much but help stabilize him further. He lost entire an limb. Rewind, was the only thing that could've helped."

The room fell silent. The man who destroyed Shigaraki was given such a fate left a sour taste in the mouths of those he chose as future sidekicks.

Eri sunk to her knees and wep louder to fill the hospital. What should have been a glorious day for everyone. Became a damaged day for the heroes.

Kota: "How is Mr. Deku?"

Bakugo looked down.

Bakugo: "*Sighs* How do think? Once he wakes up, he'll say it's nothing. But what comes next, I don't know."

Izuku is seen passed out. Medical tubes running through his body to keep him stable. 

3 people are at his bedside. His mother Inko Midoriya. His mentor Toshinori Yagi. And his girlfriend the hero Uravity, Ochako Uraraka. 

Silently, they await for their hero is awaken.
