Panic

It took excatly a minute for Camella to make Rita the scapegoat.

Benjamin said, "lady V consider the deal as signed and sealed. I will accept all your terms and conditions" then he turned to Betty who was looking at the entire scene in front of her with complete admiration.

She was highly impressed by Benjamin how he finely stopped camella from sabotaging a gold deal.

"Betty please give Rita a week's suspension notice for providing the company with wrong details. She will not be paid for the week, put this online so that all employees sees it right now". He said unsympathetically.

Camella didn't know what to do, Mr. Fedrick would give her a hard time and without Rita in the office she will not know what goes on with Benjamin

"You can leave camella" Said Benjamin.

Camella left the office. In another half an hour Rita received the notice and went ballistic.

Once the deal was finalized lady Vanessa said "I'm hosting a party tomorrow both of you better be there".

Betty chuckled, lady V left but not before telling, "benjamim marry her otherwise you will regret it".

Betty blushed. "What's with this woman and marriage? She didn't realise but Benjamin came near and was standing very close. He put his hand on her cheek as he traced her blush, he said "what do you think Mrs. Jackson, should we marry".

Betty stared at him for moment. That was enough for him to place a soft peck on her cheek. Embarrassed she ran away from the office shaking her head.

A week's suspension from the office was a huge issue in company, not many people got those kind of suspension letters. When Rita read her suspension letter she went mad, she contacted camella but she wasn't picking the phone. After all it was Camella who asked her to provide wrong details for the project. As soon as she received the letter, there was a buzz in the company regarding her conduct and everybody thought she wanted to sabotage a deal. They talked about her and looked at her strangely wherever she went. All her so-called close friends in the secretary staff started distancing themselves.

After a while of digging she came to know that Betty had provided the correct details to the CEO. Her anger flared up she went to meet betty but she wasn't there on her desk. She had to take her revenge, ever since Betty had come to the company she had been neglected and now she has been suspended.

Betty left the office in the evening and went to the parking area, when she reach there she smacked her head because she didn't come with a car, she had come with Benjamin. She started walking towards the exit when Benjamin honked from behind. She looked back only to find him and said "no thanks, I have to go meet grace".

"That's fine betty since I'm also going that way, I have to meet up with Wilson" he replied.

Betty was relieved, she thought he would be following her there. She nodded and sat in the car. Minutes later Benjamin dropped her at the driveway at Gracie's house "come straight home okay?" Benjamin said with tenderness in his eyes, "yes I will" betty replied with a blush.

Betty opened the door to Grace house, she still had a key. "hello Gracie are you in? there was no response she went upstairs and found Grace sulking on the bed she had tears in her eyes and her mascara was drippin. She dropped her bag and run to her.

"Gracie what's going on? what happened? You were Soo joyful the last time I saw you why the sudden change? Grace hugged and cry the more, she cried so bitterly. Betty didn't know what made her friend like this. Between them grace was the strongest one, what could break her so badly now. She put her hand on her back "it's okay Gracie I'm here now don't cry anymore" Grace cried even more bitterly.

After few minutes, she started wiping her eyes, her eyes was Soo red, it made betty sad. She helped wipe her tears, what happened gracie? I never seen you break down like this, Betty said almost in tears. "Betty it's mike we broke up, he didn't love me. He was just after my money, I heard him telling his friends. And when I confronted him he admitted it, I was just his toy Betty, he had someone he loved. She broke down in tears again, "I'm a bad person? I had feeling for him because I thought he was who he portrayed to be". Remembering her past with Jeff she cried, she only wanted to console her friend but she ended up crying too. All she could say was "I'm sorry you had to go through this Gracie". This went on for a while.

Then all of a sudden Grace said in shaky voice "how did the talk with your boss go? You haven't told me anything about it". She wiped her tears with the back of her palm.

Suprised at the sudden change of topic Betty said, "Um.... Grace I think this is not a good time to talk about this, you need to sober up first maybe next time when you're feeling much better we can talk about it" she was only trying to change the conversation. "No, tell me no, don't worry about me am fine. And am listening" grace said sitting up.

knowing her friend Grace could be so stubborn she started biting her lips, she didn't know how she would explain to her friend that she got married instead of getting a loan. She was lost in her thoughts. "Come one Betty am not getting any younger, would you tell me before my hair turn Gray from waiting for answers? Grace lamented.

"Okay grace, you know whatever I did was for good, and it's not even real, we haven't even consummated it yet. she was blabbing. "Hold on lady, tell me who is 'WE' she asked looking confused.

Betty panicked a little.

In a rush she said 'I got married'.

Grace just looked at her without any expression "what are you saying? do you think it's time to make jokes?" Please answer my questions Betty, "Is true Grace I got married to my boss".

"What? Grace shouted untop her voice. How did this happen betty? That was not the plan girl". Betty she cut her short "Gracie, i had no other option. When requested a loan he asked for a marriage due to family reasons and I needed money for my house, so on a second thought, I agreed. You know we both need each other, and is a contract marriage but for eight months only, we haven't done anything yet I promise". She said raising her hand like she was swearing.

"Betty, should I scold you or be happy for you? First this is crazy, but on the looking at the bright side, good. You can now give your uncle the punishment he deserves".
