Getting familiar with her boss
After a long day, betty came home but Grace wasn't in. she got to her room after a relaxing shower she changed into her pyjamas and crashed into the bed she was too tired, when she woke up it was already 6pm she began waiting for Grace to come back home. She went downstairs and took a stroll in their backyard.
She kept waiting for Grace until 9pm but she still hasn't arrived she had her dinner alone, when she didn't come even until 10 p.m. she became worried she pick her phone and called Grace after few rings "hello Betty sorry I'm not home yet I'll be spending the night at Mike's he wouldn't let me go"
"gosh really now? and I was worried for no reason huh? alright have fun" Betty said faking sadness "oh baby I promise to make it up to you tomorrow okay" Grace said apologetically "it's okay Gracie" bye babe Betty ended the call.
Since there was nothing to do alone betty went to her bedroom and sarted going through the file her boss gave her then she thought that she would work very hard to earn lots of money to get her house back thinking about this she became excited and even started researching about the company she didn't realise when she fell asleep.
She woke up late at 10am in the morning over her papers. She leapt out of the bed to take a shower after a quick bath she went downstairs to have breakfast.
Benjamin was in a meeting when Betty arrived betty straight way headed to his office but was stopped by Rita in the middle.
"where do you think you're going miss? this is not a free way that you can use to travel whenever you feel like this the office of the CEO of Victoria Empire you're not allowed inside" snapped Rita acerbically.
Other secretaries arrived and they asked what happened. Rita pointed to them how this lady wanted to enter the ceo's office without an appointment all of them started laughing they were afraid of Rita because she was the head secretary and was the only person allowed into Benjamin's office. They wanted to be in her good books one of them said "miss you better get appointment from the CEO and then enter this building".
Rita added "just because you were able to meet him yesterday you think you can also meet him today?
"Please leave this place and stop hampering in the daily work said yet another one.
Rita held Betty's hand and started dragging her out of the office and Betty jerked her hand away and shouted at her "how dare you even think of dragging me like that? who the hell are you? I work here and I can go into the ceo's office anytime as am his personal assistant".
other secretaries were wide-eyed when they saw Rita been treated so badly she couldn't bear this insult and angrily pulled her hand saying "you better leave this premises or else I'll call the security and have you kicked out".
While she was dragging her out a voice from behind roard "Rita! everyone stopped in his or her tracks they turned back and saw that Benjamin was standing there with his hand resting on the door of his office and one hand in his pants pocket.
"What are you doing? He demanded angrily
Rita started shivering out of fear, she said "sir this woman is entering your office without permission I am just showing her out.
"Who gave you permission to do that? don't you know that she is my personal assistant? He sneered at her
Betty Jerked hands away from Rita and walked away from them towards Benjamin.
Rita was extremely surprised a pang of jealousy hit her heart and she felt like stabbing that woman in front of her all the other secretaries left from the area immediately leaving Rita alone.
betty slowly walked inside the office with Benjamin leaving Rita with gaping mouth why was the boss showing so much interest in her? He usually don't care about anyone.
In the office Benjamin offered her to sit down and poured tea for her. This was the first time he was actually serving anyone.
"I'm sorry about the way secretaries are treating you they still don't know who you are" said Benjamin apologetically.
betty thanked him and had her tea, then she looked at his hand it was now neatly wrapped in a bandage perhaps he had gone to see a doctor after all because the bandage now look like a job done by professional.
Benjamin saw her looking at his hand he said "I had to get a stitch here"
Betty look down in her lap she wasn't responsible for anyone getting angry to the extent of hurting himself.
Benjamin found himself lost staring at her. He woke from his trance "betty tell me about yourself" he said "What? Now? She asked flustered.
"when do you think is the best time to do that if not now" said Benjamin sarcastically.
"Ok my name is Betty Cruz, am a model and an unpopular actress" she said looking down
"I mean tell me about your background" Benjamin said.
Betty found it very hard to say but she had to say it anyway she began "
I'm an orphan I lost my parents in an accident while I was in high school and I managed to graduate with the help of the insurance my parents saved up for me but later I was thrown out of our house for my uncle" she said as tears were prickling in eyes "I'm sorry sir that's all about me you can know".
Benjamin passed his handkerchief so surprised but she took it, feeling ashamed of herself she excused herself out of the office she went to her office and screamed "oh my goodness Betty how could you tear up like that in front of your boss? geez I feel so ashamed of myself"
On the other hand
Benjamin felt sorry for her he knew everything about how already, he felt like hearing from her directly and he felt bad that you made her cry he clenched his fists and he felt angry but doesn't know why he felt like that he wanted to protect her and never allow her cry again, although hehe wasn sure about where his feelings were taking him to but he still wanted to risk it.
He put a call across to wilson immediately he answered "yes bro what's up? Wilson said "i think Betty has not known about the news that her house have been put up for sale" Benjamin said with a different tone in his voice "oh really she haven't heard of it? Do you want to tell her about it? Wilson asked curiously, "Of course not dude" that will ruin everything, let her know about it first.
"Benjamin I don't know what plan is cooking in your head but I trust you" "don't worry Wilson put a call to my lawyer let him get the papers ready". Benjamin replied
Later betty came back to the office she cleared her throat to get his attention he didn't see her walk in
"Miss bety welcome back" he said. "I'm sorry about earlier I didn't mean to leave like that betty said still trying to hide her face she couldn't look at him, she felt embarrassed for crying in front of her boss.
"Miss Betty there is a meeting in less than 5 minutes get ready you will come with me". "Oh really? I mean ok sir" He handed her a tablet "sir what is this for? Betty asked looking at it oddly. "Its used to take pictures of the meeting he answered mockingly, this tablet will be used to take note of every minute during this meeting got it? Yes Mr Benjamin she said biting her lip.

Top floor of Victoria Empire the office was decorated in European style a large table was placed at the middle of the room, a computer some tablets files pens with pen stand and some other important things were neatly organised on the table.
the back side of the table had some book shelves with various kind of books many trophies and medals were placed accordingly in the glass shelves
the right side of the table has a big glass window from where the beautiful country A could be seen in the sunset the mesmerizing view could really take one's breath out. the front side of the office table had big European style sofas and a centre table was placed right in front of it.
Betty walked with Benjamin only to find an empty room "what is going on here? It's already past the meeting time" Benjamin said already pissed. then came Rita running.
"Sir! She was breathing like someone who just did a marathon, "rita what's going on? Benjamin asked angrily.
I'm sorry sir the board members postponed the meeting for next time" she said panting "and why wasn't I informed? he shouted with anger making her quiver in fear even betty was not left out she was scared. he walked out of the office angrily.
raising her head she only saw Betty, she gave her a stern glare, betty was about walking out of the office when she heard Rita say "enjoy your time with the boss it won't last long".
betty scored, she turned around and told her "little advice dear you should try concentrating on your job and stay the fuck out of my business ,with the boss angry at you right now if you continue with this behaviour you will lose your job no doubt atleast do what's your paid for" saying that she left rita "I can be a bitch" she said in her thoughts.
she went back to the ceo's office but he wasn't there then she returned to office to review the files.
In a dark room two men were watching a video clip, "jeez man I never knew Betty was a fierce girl she really put that rita in her place" Wilson said but Benjamin only smiled. "all the more I like her she's gentle as a dove wise as a serpent just my style"
What do you mean Benjamin? Wilson asked "nothing I like that girl" he said replaying the video "which girl betty or Rita?. "Come on man do I have to spell it out?kyou're too slow that's why you still haven't gotten a girl yet" Benjamin mocked.
"come on bro don't rub it in and I'm not the only single guy in this room you better get a girl soon or you will get it hot from grandpa this time around"
Shut your mouth don't you see I'm trying to get her? "Betty" Wilson asked "yes man, I really don't know bit I feel different around her
please spare, Betty don't get her into your family problems she has enough on her plate Wilson said
"I will protect her" benjamin said with determination.
it was a long day and Betty went back home without seeing the boss she couldn't stop thinking about what happened at the conference room remembering the words of Rita "that girl is looking for trouble, when i first saw her I thought she was a nice lady but no she's a wolf in sheep clothing she better watch her back" I would never let her embarass me ever again she left the company and went home.
Upon arriving home, grace wasn't back she didn't bother to eat, she washed up and sank into her bed hitting the pillow she flew to her dream world.
