The Spy Game

"Why are you smiling so much? Were you eavesdropping?" Nivi questioned, noticing June's continuous chuckling as they waited by the elevator, far from Sushi's room.

"Haha, I wasn't eavesdropping. But I heard everything from start to end. I've never heard her voice so loud before; it was quite the surprise, you know her voice was always below 40 decibles."

June replied, still laughing. "And her expressions! Did you see her face? It was adorable how hard she tried to stand her ground against you. She's quite fascinating."

He chuckled on, shaking his head in amusement. "I have to hand it to you, Nivi. You have a way of bringing out the best in people," he remarked, playfully running his hand through her hair.

"Hey, don't mess up my hair. I'm not a kid. We're adults," Nivi protested, trying to get his hands away.

"How much can you grow? You'll always be a kid to me," he teased, continuing to tousle her hair.

As the elevator doors opened, Huan was taken aback to see them standing so closely together, their heads almost touching.

As Nivi realized Huan in the elevator, she gently rested her hands on June's cheeks. "Here we go, another puppet. Let's play a little more," she whispered, as if they were enveloped in their own world.

Quietly, Huan stepped out of the elevator without interrupting them. A smile played on his lips, as if he was edging closer to another revelation.

They both erupted into laughter as Huan left, as if they were gradually making a fool out of him.

"Huan, have you seen them acting all lovey-dovey? It's like June doesn't even care what people will say about you," Huan was trying to say something to Sushi., but her mind was elsewhere, preoccupied with thoughts of June and Nivi.

"Sushi! Are you listening?" Huan's loud voice snapped her out of her reverie.

"Yeah, Huan, I am. Do you know where Lizzas is?" she asked abruptly.

"Yeah I know where it is", he responded wondering why.

"Can you take me there tonight? Let's go there for dinner," she added, a hint of desperation in her voice.

"Sure, why not," Huan agreed, noticing the sudden shift in Sushi's demeanor. He agreed without knowing the underlying reason for her request.

"Is this a hotel?" Sushi's eyes widened in shock as she beheld the towering building adorned with flashy lights in that night sky. Her mind raced with a million possibilities involving June and Nivi.

"It's a famous restaurant and hotel among the wealthy," Huan explained.

Quickly, Sushi covered her face with a mask and adjusted her hair to obscure her features.

"What are you doing?" Huan asked, puzzled by Sushi's strange behavior.

"Nothing. Let's just go inside," Sushi replied hastily, her eyes darting around as they entered, searching for any sign of June and Nivi.

A waitress approached to seat them, but Sushi deliberately chose a secluded table that offered a vantage point of the entire restaurant.

Once seated, Huan asked, "What would you like to eat?"

"Anything is fine," Sushi responded quickly, her gaze still fixed on the entrance, anticipating any sign of June and Nivi.

"Can we have SetB, please?" Huan ordered, feeling slightly embarrassed by Sushi's odd behavior.

As the waitress left, Huan attempted to address the elephant in the room. "Is something bothering you today? You seem like you're somewhere else..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Sushi suddenly ducked down as if hiding from something. Alarmed, Huan turned to see what had startled her, but she whispered urgently, "Don't turn."

"What's wrong? What happened?" Huan asked, confused by Sushi's behavior.

"June and Nivi just walked in," she whispered.

"Where?" Huan started to turn to look, but she interrupted, "Don't turn, stay low."

Startled, Huan nodded quickly. "Okay, I won't. Don't worry."

"Hey Bunny, looks like we need to step into character. I was hoping for a peaceful chat with you as my friend, but it seems we'll have to enter into our roles again," Nivi said, drawing close to June and adjusting his hair gently. "At 11 o'clock from your left when you turn. Let's not make it obvious. Your wife and her loyal sidekick are over there."

Led by the waitress, they entered a special room adorned with hanging glowing designs covering the doors.

June chuckled as he stole a quick glance at Sushi, his eyes sparkling with amusement. He then placed his hands on Nivi's shoulders and guided her into the room.

Sushi's anxiety continued to mount. "Why are they heading into that room? There are plenty of empty tables outside," she muttered to herself, still adjusting her posture to avoid drawing attention, unaware that she had already been spotted.

"Is that why you insisted on coming here for dinner?" Huan inquired, observing Sushi closely.

"I heard they were coming to this restaurant. So I wanted to see" she reasoned, her gaze still fixed on the room even as she spoke to Huan.

Just as Huan was about to respond, the waitress appeared with their ordered food, serving it onto the table.

"Now, are you going to eat at least?" Huan asked, sighing to himself.

Lost in her scan on June and Nivi, Sushi absentmindedly tried to take a spoonful of soup, only to spill it on her dress as she forgot to remove her mask.

"Do you even know what you're doing?" Huan asked, his voice tinged with frustration.

Embarrassed, Sushi excused herself and hurried to the restroom to clean up.

"June, wait here. I'll be back quickly," Nivi excused herself upon seeing Sushi heading to the restroom.

As Sushi attempted to clean her dress with a little water, she suddenly heard Nivi's voice entering the restroom. Desperate to hide, she quickly ducked into one of the toilets and locked the door.

Upon entering the restroom, Nivi noticed that Sushi was nowhere to be seen. Suspecting that Sushi might be hiding inside, she decided to play a prank on her. Pretending to have a phone conversation, she began speaking aloud as if she was conversing with someone.

"Yeah, we're at Lizzas now. Do you remember how much June and I used to love this place," Nivi said, pretending to talk to an unseen companion.

"I know he's married, but he doesn't love her. I have my ways of dealing with him. I'll make him mine tonight. Besides, his wife will be leaving in two months," she continued, purposely raising her voice to ensure Sushi could hear.

"Leaving in two months? Did June even tell her that?" Sushi gasped in shock, eavesdropping on the conversation.

"That's why I booked a suite room in the penthouse for tonight, just for the two of us to enjoy," Nivi announced loudly before leaving the restroom.

"Penthouse? Suite room? What is she planning to do with my June tonight? I need to do something to make them stop," Sushi muttered to herself, pacing back and forth outside the restroom, pondering her next move.
