Melodies of Love

In the midst of packing her handbag, Sushi paused as she heard June's voice calling out to her from the living room. She turned to see him standing there with a serious expression on his face.

"Have you forgotten about agreement number 4?" he asked, his tone firm yet tinged with a hint of concern.

Sushi furrowed her brows, trying to recall the specifics of that particular agreement. As she mentally went through the clauses, realization dawned on her. Agreement number 5 stipulated that she should always take her husband whenever going out and shouldnt go alone.

"But I am going to the office, not anywhere else," Sushi exclaimed, her tone adamant.

"So am I," June replied calmly, coming near her and opening the car door for her. He gestured for her to sit in the passenger seat before he buckled her up, ensuring her safety before closing the door with a gentle click.

As he started driving, Sushi lost in thoughts, "He is behvaing so weird today. I don't understand his intention at all. He is weird and at the same time he is behaving as himself. He is confusing me".

"About number 5, did you change my contact name yet?" June suddenly asked, breaking the silence between them.

Sushi shook her head. "No, not yet. I'll do it now." She took out her phone and swiftly changed his contact name to "Hubby💜."

"Satisfied?" she asked, showing him the updated contact.

"Good," he replied, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Then what about you? Have you changed my contact name to 'Wifey'?" Sushi inquired.

"The conditions in the contract apply to you, not me," June replied casually.

"Why didn't you tell me this sooner?" Sushi pressed, her voice rising slightly.

"You didn't ask, and you signed it. Blame your own dumb brain, not me," he teased her laughing at her.

"Why do I feel like I got scammed by my own husband", she replied.

"It's all right, I've been scammed by my own wife. You should get used to that feeling too," June teased again, referring to her earlier betrayal.

Sushi fell silent at the mention of it, and they arrived at the office in silence.

Around lunchtime, just as Sushi was about to leave with Huan, June intervened, glaring at her and signaling with his eyes that she needed to have lunch with him as per clause 2 of their agreement.

"Do you need something, boss?" Huan asked, sensing the tension between June and Sushi.

Understanding the situation, Sushi quickly improvised. "Uh, Huan, why don't you go ahead for lunch today by yourself? I need to talk to June about something."

June continued to glare at her, prompting her to correct herself. "Um, I mean, I need to talk to my husband, Huan. You go ahead for today."

Huan was left amazed by change in a over night and confused by Sushi's sudden change of words, but he didn't question further. He silently nodded and left.

With Huan gone, June smiled triumphantly, feeling a sense of satisfaction at removing his love rival from the equation. He then gently took Sushi by the shoulder and led her to his room, where a table was set with a variety of dishes.

Feeling conflicted, Sushi couldn't help but wonder if June's actions were a form of control, holding her accountable to the terms of their agreement.

Yet, there was also a hint of happiness within her, seeing June's efforts to spend time together and perhaps mend their fractured relationship. She decided to push aside her doubts for now and focus on enjoying the meal and the moment they shared.

Later that evening, June waited for Sushi outside the building, his impatience evident as he questioned her about being late.

"Why are you late?"

"Why did you wait for me? You should have left," she responded.

"Stop talking and just get in the car. I'm already annoyed enough," June retorted, holding the car door open for her.

As they drove, June asked, "Tell me about your day?"

"Nothing much, just work", she replied.

His tone tinged with jealousy as he inquired,"If it is just work, what about your conversation with Huan at the pantry".

"Uh, that, not a big deal", she tried to avoid the topic.

"Oh you don't want to tell me. Understood, I think you won't get a strike off today, you are loosing the aggreement on your first day itself. Fine, don't say.", he shifting his gaze outside of the window.

"No, he asked, he asked that have you gone mad? that you are acting weird today", she told with hesitation.

"What?, how dare he?", June slamming sudden break at a red light. He expressed his frustration, "so what have you told him?"

"I didn't say anything. I just mentioned that you have a lot on your plate," Sushi replied cautiously.

"Is that true, um? "I'll take care of him tomorrow.", unconvinced June seemed ready to confront Huan the next day

"Don't harm him in any way. He speaks sarcastically occasionally, but he is genuinely a good guy. That's all, but he didn't mean any harm. "He has a pure heart," she said with emotion.

"You seem to know a lot about his heart," June remarked coldly as they arrived home, storming inside without hearing Sushi's explanation.

"What? Is he mad at me over Huan? But he's just my friend. Did June misunderstand us?" Sushi pondered as she followed him into the house.

"No, we're not like that, June. Don't misunderstand us," she said, attempting to clarify things as they entered the living room.

Before he could respond, the household helpers approached and informed them that they had rearranged and prepared their room.

After thanking them, June suddenly covered Sushi's eyes.

"What are you doing, June?" she asked from behind the blindfold.

"Just keep walking," he instructed, guiding her up the stairs.

When he finally removed the blindfold, Sushi was shocked by the transformation of their bedroom.

It was completely different, with a new large bed against the far wall, a painting of their wedding picture hanging above it. A wardrobe stood nearby, filled with both of their clothes, and a sofa with a large teddy bear and some of her favorite toys.

Near the balcony, there was a cute swing, with curtains swaying in the breeze. Above them, the ceiling was adorned with a glowing galaxy.

Sushi was amazed at the transformation and was about to ask June about it.

"This is our room. From now on, you have to be here with me every day," he said with a happy smile on his face as he showed her around.

"Is he really happy?" Sushi wondered. "But it's been a long time since I've seen him smile at me like this. It feels like he's back."

"Do you like it? If you want me to change anything else or if you want something else, I'll rearrange it," he said, reaching for her hand.

Although Sushi was truly shocked and surprised, she replied, "I like it. It's just like how I imagined it before our marriage."

Hearing those words from Sushi made June feel incredibly happy. "Go and get freshened up. You must be tired," he said warmly.

After a while, Sushi stood near the balcony lost in her thoughts, "am I going to sleep here today? With June?, beside june? Can I handle it, why my face is so red, why i am feeling so hot in this cold air".

June finished freshening up and entered the room shirtless. She couldn't help but notice his toned physique, and her cheeks flushed even more red as she quickly looked away.

"What are you thinking about?" June asked, noticing the puzzled expression on Sushi's face.

Sushi stammered, "Oh, nothing... Just wondering about where to sleep tonight."

June raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "Well, I think we've got a big enough bed for both of us," he teased.

Sushi's face turned even redder, and she nervously played with her fingers. "Um, yeah, I guess so," she mumbled, feeling flustered by June's playful demeanor.

June noticed her embarrassment and stepped closer, concerned. "What happened? Why is your face so red? Do you have a fever?" he asked, reaching out to check her temperature.

But Sushi quickly evaded his touch, stepping away. "I'm fine, really. Just a bit tired, that's all. I think I'll go to sleep now," she said hurriedly, retreating to the bed and covering herself completely, leaving no trace of her face visible.

June couldn't help but chuckle at Sushi's innocent behavior as she hurriedly covered herself. He slowly climbed into bed beside her, inching closer as if to hug her.

When she realized a movement on bed, she slightly opened her blanket. As he drew near, Sushi's eyes widened in alarm as June drew her close to his bare chest, and she quickly pushed him away, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

"June, what are you doing? You're shirtless! Put some clothes on!" she exclaimed, feeling flustered and trapped by his sudden embrace.

"I can't sleep with my clothes on, and its not like you have never seen me" he replied nonchalantly, holding her firmly against him.

Despite her protests, he seemed determined to keep her close. "I'm tired, let's just sleep for today," he insisted, his tone firm as he settled down, making it clear he had no intention of letting her go.

As Sushi lay with her head on June's chest, she felt a mix of emotions swirling within her. She found herself gradually relaxing into his embrace.

His steady heartbeat beneath her ear provided a sense of comfort she hadn't expected. Although she couldn't move, she felt strangely content in his arms, a feeling of warmth spreading through her body.

A query came from June while she was happy and lost in thinking about situation they are in.

"What is your secret for today that you have to confess?"
