Is It Really Me?

Chloe's suggestion caught June and Sushi off guard, leaving them stunned as they exchanged confused glances.

Meanwhile, their parents appeared pleased with the idea, their faces lighting up with small smiles.

Sushi's mother chimed in, adjusting her tone, "You're absolutely right, Chloe. I had the same thought. But when I asked Sushi, she didn't agree, mentioning they had too much work."

"Yes, Mom, but I believe now is the perfect opportunity. I heard June's business partner just returned from abroad.

So, I think she can handle things at the company, right June?" Chloe directed her question at June, urging him to respond.

The stunned June struggled to respond, eventually managing to utter, "Yeah, she is quite talented and can handle everything, even if I disappear for days."

"What on earth? What did I just say?" June glanced at Sushi with a bewildered expression.

"Well, that settles it then. Chloe, start scheduling and preparing everything for them," her father instructed.

"Don't worry, Dad. Leave it to me. I know the perfect place," Chloe began to explain, recounting her visit with Vin.

As preparations began unfolding, Sushi felt a surge of frustration. "Why did he have to say that? Now they're all getting ready. They didn't even bother to ask for my opinion. What am I supposed to do now?" she grappled with her inner turmoil.

"Chloe, it's alright. We can postpone this for later. We have too much on our plate right now; we can't just leave everything to Nivi," Sushi attempted to intervene, hoping to halt the honeymoon plans.

"Don't worry, Sushi, about a thing. Just follow Dad's orders. I'll take care of the rest," Chloe gritted her teeth, inwardly frustrated by what she perceived as Sushi's cluelessness.

"I was trying to mend things between them, but she's determined to ruin the plans," Chloe thought to herself before vocalizing, "I'll have everything ready within two days. You can fly out this weekend."

"That's too soon! It's only two days away. I have commitments that can't be rescheduled," Sushi protested desperately.

"It's not too soon. If anything, it's already too late. You've always procrastinated like this. This time, you need to listen to us, Sushi," her mother interjected firmly before leaving the room.

Feeling helpless, Sushi looked to her father for support, but he remained silent, rising from his seat and following her mother out, ignoring Sushi's pleading gaze.

On the other side, June simply stared at Sushi, a smirk playing on his lips as he observed her expressions.

"Now you have no choice. You have to come with me. Let's see how you will behave." June mused, his thoughts tinged with a hint of cruelty.

Annoyed by June's smile, Sushi glanced at him before ignoring both him and Chloe, heading off to her room.

Chloe and June both burst into laughter at Sushi's expressions and her helpless situation.

"Chloe, I need to ask you something," June said, moving closer to Chloe after Sushi had left the living room.

"What is it?" Chloe inquired.

"Sushi mentioned something about me causing her misery. I don't understand what she means. Do you have any idea?" June asked, seeking clarification.

Chloe was taken aback by the question and paused, reflecting on the memory.

"I'll never let him back into my life. If it weren't for him, I could have saved my mom," Sushi's sobbing words echoed in Chloe's mind.

"Chloe! Chloe!" June's voice broke her reverie, realizing she hadn't responded to his question and seemed lost in thought.

Shaken back to reality, Chloe quickly gathered herself. "Don't pay too much attention to it, June. Sushi says things she doesn't mean when she's angry," Chloe reassured him before leaving June alone in the living room.

"Did you say something to June?" Chloe asked Sushi, ensuring their privacy by locking the room door from inside to prevent anyone from overhearing their conversation.

"Said what?" Sushi replied, annoyance evident as she sat on the bed, clutching her giant teddy bear tightly, seemingly taking out her frustration on it.

"June just asked me if I knew anything about the misery you mentioned he caused," Chloe explained, taking a seat on the bed in front of her.

As Sushi recalled the words she uttered in anger in front of the hospital, her expression softened.

"I think I said that in the heat of the moment. What did you tell him? Did you confide in him?" she asked, setting the bear aside, her curiosity piqued.

"No, I avoided the topic and left," Chloe replied.

Sushi felt a wave of relief wash over her, her nerves calming at Chloe's response.

"I've always wanted to ask you, why did you marry him after swearing you'd never let him back into your life?" Chloe brought up a past situation, seeking justification for her actions.

"Even I don't know. Do you remember the first day I went to him pretending to be you? Despite the time that passed, seeing him made me realize that I couldn't let him go," Sushi reminisced, lost in her thoughts about that memory.

Continuing, she confessed, "I realized it was never his fault. He didn't know anything about it. Maybe I blamed him all along to cover up my own mistakes. But seeing him again brought everything back to me and made me realize it."

"That's true. He was never to blame. It's good that you finally realized it. But when do you plan to tell him everything?" Chloe inquired, her concern evident.

"Chloe," Sushi began, gently taking hold of Chloe's arms.

"What is it? Why do you look so worried? What's on your mind?" Chloe asked, rubbing her hands in anticipation of a response.

"I think you should know, I'm pregnant," Sushi confessed.

"What?!" Chloe's voice echoed loudly.

"Shh! They might hear you," Sushi hushed Chloe, trying to calm her down from her excitement.

"What? Congratulations! I thought you two were still trying to adjust, but you've moved pretty fast," Chloe's excitement bubbled over.

"Wait, does this mean I'm going to be an aunt? What names are we considering? Is it a boy or a girl? And why didn't you tell everyone downstairs just now?" Chloe's curiosity surged, her face immediately turning inquisitive.

"June doesn't know it yet," Sushi revealed.

"But why? You should let him know, right? After all, he's the father. He has every right to be informed," Chloe reasoned, trying to emphasize the importance of honesty.

"I know, I know. I wanted to tell him too. I don't want this child to grow up without a father. But do you know what he said today?" Sushi's voice trailed off, frustration evident in her sigh.

"What did he say?" Chloe asked, concerned.

"He said... he said..." Sushi hesitated, unsure whether to divulge the painful truth.

"It's okay, tell me. I know everything about us, right? It's okay, tell me," Chloe reassured her, moving closer and placing her hands on Sushi's shoulder.

"He said... he was sleeping with me because he was thinking of you when he got drunk," Sushi's eyes welled up with tears, her voice trembling with hurt.

Overwhelmed by Sushi's pain, Chloe enveloped her in a comforting embrace, offering solace as Sushi wept.

"It's okay, don't cry. But I think I'm starting to understand why he behaved like that. You made him like that," Chloe blamed Sushi.

Sushi pulled away from her, her tear-streaked face full of confusion. "What have I done?"

"You behaved like Chloe throughout his childhood. Now you've come back as Sushi. But to him, the person he thought he loved was a girl named Chloe, and your similar behavior is confusing him," Chloe explained.

"How did you come to that conclusion? Because we were both there, me and you," Sushi questioned.

"Yes, that's true. We were both part of his life. But I kept my distance from him with all sorts of excuses. That's how I started hanging out with Vin, to avoid June. So I'm sure he loved only you, but he's just confused," Chloe elaborated.

She continued, "Think about it, June wouldn't need to stop you from leaving if he hated you. And he wouldn't need to get angry at the thought of you being with Huan if he didn't care for you. It seems more like jealousy from my perspective."

"Do you really think so?" Sushi asked, her tears subsiding as she listened to her sister's words.

"Yes, take advantage of this honeymoon opportunity. Ask him who he loved: the innocent girl or the fierce girl from his past. I bet he'll tell you it's you.

And you have to tell him about the baby, Sushi. That's the key to fixing everything between you," Chloe consoled Sushi, offering a plan on how to prompt him to admit his true feelings.

"Do you think it will work? What if it's you he truly loves?" Sushi expressed her doubt.

"Don't worry. I'm confident that it's you.

Just go and mend your relationship with him. I'll handle these obstacles, Huan and Nivi, before you return," Chloe reassured her, adjusting her hair with confidence.
