A Proposal That Links Us Together

Day 6

Sushi got excited when June sent a car to bring her up the following day. She accepted the ride out of confusion but curiosity, and when she got to the company, she saw Huan in June's room. They looked at one other, speaking to each other without using words. Sushi wondered why Huan was there and what June had planned for them, but she was unable to get rid of her uneasy sensation. She prepared herself for whatever lay ahead.

As Sushi greeted Huan and moved to sit beside him, she felt a sudden tug on her hand. Startled, she looked to discover June had grabbed her hand and nudged her to take a seat next to him. She was taken aback by his action and couldn't help but detect the glint of jealousy in his eyes. Huan, meanwhile, was keeping a close eye on their exchange and could tell that, even if they were both grinning, something was wrong. His interest was piqued as he wondered what was hidden behind their seemingly banal welcomes.

"So, Huan," June began, his tone laced with curiosity, "I heard that you asked Chloe to pretend to be Sushi. What's your proposal?" His question hung in the air, carrying a mix of intrigue and suspicion, as he awaited Huan's response.

Huan first believed that Sushi had confessed to him, but then he heard June say again in his head, "It's not Chloe pretending Sushi, it's Sushi pretending as Chloe," and he glanced at Sushi and asked her, "What's happening?" with his eyes rather than speaking.

Sushi took the initiative to divert attention from the truth and addressed Huan, "Don't worry, Huan. I explained to June that I stepped in to assist with your project proposal by substituting for your team member Sushi."

At last, Huan able to comprehend, and they both began presenting the project proposal. June's body is there looking like he's listening, but all of his attention is on Sushi as she goes over the specifics.

After analyzing over the concept in detail, June thought it was a good one and offered to implement it with his team, providing a contract he had already drafted before even going over the presentation.

Sushi inquired, "But you just heard our proposal. When did you have time to prepare it?"

"I called the team last night to prepare one because I trusted in your abilities. And If you're satisfied with the offered compensation and terms, you can sign now. June said softly to Sushi, "This way, you'll be in front of my eyes every second."

Huan saw and felt like a third wheel when he saw that sushi blushed and they were both feeling lost in themselves. He took the agreement and went over the specifics in order to prevent the situation.

"But, Mr. CEO, though I'm pleased that you find our proposition appealing, there is one more thing I'd like to add in terms. He said bitterly, "I will only sign this contract if you accept my condition."

June was surprised by his tone, but he responded gently, "What is it?"

"Though Chloe will be assisting me with this project, Sushi is a very precious person to me. Therefore, I want Sushi's name to be on the agreement instead of Chloe's, and I also want an additional clause inserted stating that Sushi cannot be removed from the project until it is finished, regardless of what happens in the future. I dislike it when people bring personal issues to work, but who knows? Maybe you'll fire Sushi in the future because you favor Chloe. With a proud demeanor, Huan continued, considering every scenario after Sushi's confession to June.

Huan's abrupt personality change startled Juan a little bit, and as he was considering, Sushi intervened, holding Huan's hand and asking, "What exactly are you talking about? I need to talk with you. Come outside," she said as she led him out the room.

Sushi glared, "What are you trying to do?"

"No matter what I say to you, you definitely cannot understand." I simply want to help you," Huan said, attempting to clarify

"I'm not sure what's on your mind, but just don't make any trouble for June. That's not okay; if you don't accept what's stated in the agreement, we're both out of the project. Select where to stand quickly," she commanded in a raised voice.

As Huan accepted her decision, they headed back into the room, only to find June already signing, adding a new condition.

It's not an issue; I accept your condition. I agreed to the concept not just because Chloe was involved but also because it has potential. By placing papers in Huan's hands, June counterattacked his attitude, saying, "And I can differentiate my personal life and my work, otherwise I wouldn't in this position which I hardworked from scratch."

June ended his talk with Sushi, took her hand gently, and escorted her out for lunch before dropping her off at her house.
