A Longing Heart

Day 8

Sushi felt a shiver run down her spine as she read the message from June. He had clearly discovered the truth, and now she had no choice but to confess. She struggled to face the impossible task of fully disclosing, bearing the burden of her lies.

All night long, her mind was buzzing over possible explanations, requests for forgiveness. She struggled to sleep, and every minute that went by made her fear and hopelessness worse. She was aware that the situation she could no longer avoid would arrive with the arrival of morning.

Sushi's fingers trembled as she typed a message to June, her heart thumping. "Is it possible for us to meet? There is something I must tell you. I'm sending the location details. Could we meet there today at noon?

Despite not receiving a response from June, Sushi held onto a glimmer of hope as she made her way to the agreed-upon location. Each step felt heavier than the last, her mind consumed with worry. She prayed that June would give her a chance to explain, to mend the shattered pieces of trust between them. She waited nervously, hoping against hope that he would show up.

She waited for him more than an hour, alone and sad, every minute seeming to take a lifetime. She tried calling June, but she never got a response, which made her feel even more alone and helpless.

She became emotional at realizing how serious the issue was. It seemed as if she had let something priceless, something that was hers, slip through her fingers like sand grains. She was crying uncontrollably, her heart heaving under the weight of her feelings as time went on.

Night fell, casting everything in shadow, but June was nowhere to be seen. She sat there by herself, the chill in the night air reflecting on the reality that her chance to make things right might have vanished forever.

Suddenly, a car with bright headlights approached. Looking up, her heart skipped a beat, thinking it would be June, but to her surprise, it was Huan getting out of the car. As he walked towards her, his worried eyes began to soften. Noticing her pain, he removed his shirt and tenderly draped it around her shoulders, providing her with warmth and protection at her darkest hour. He sat down next to her without saying anything, his quiet reassurance in the middle of her chaos.
