Sacrifice

Kilo thought hard about what to do, since if they moved Berry's wing, then it might hurt him alot. But, it wasn't as important then actually taking Berry from there so that they or Berry gets caught by the non known species to him.

"It got shot down and landed here! Over here, guys!" The original voice shouted. They were quite far, but as the words dragged on, it was getting closer.

Kilo looked at Oaka, who stood straight and was in a salute pose. "Oaka.." Kilo thought his word very carefully.

"We should carry Berry away from here, but he can't make that much noise." Kilo knew that if they moved Berry, then his wings will drag, and that means that the arrow is going to drag, then that means that it's going to pain him more.

"I don't know about this, but since this forest has very thick leaves and they are very long too, then you can gather about 3? Please? Even though your not into actual building or crafting things like Seissylt, but hang around her alot because your the errand boy and she needs lots of things, then you know the basics, right?" Kilo spilled out a whole essay, but it was just to make the classical Oaka understand.

"Umm, I think so? She made a new bed for Suga recently... It was from the thick leaves he found-"

"Guys, I swear it's close!"

"Just hurry!" Kilo whispered.

Oaka ran into the forest, looking back 2 times before disappearing.

The people might come here before Oaka can find the actual leaves and whatever else he needs to find, so I have to move Berry somewhere before that happens.

Kilo thought hard about where he should take Berry. Berry groaned again, and before he could talk, Kilo showed his hand like a flat board and swunged his hand to Berry's neck, instantly knocking him out.

So he doesn't feel pain, Kilo thought and then dragged Berry quietly to a big batches of bushes.

Only 7 seconds later the other bushes rustled and then, the strange-

HUMANS!? Kilos mouth hanged in disbelief as a man came into view, leaves stuck in his black hair. The man looked around 31 to 38 years old, had a brown leather jacket and tight white pants. 2 belts crossed each other on his waist and he had a bow slunged on his shoulder. Fastening his belts, he looked around confusingly, and snapped his attention to the bushes he just came from.

"Did you find it!? What's the species!?" A woman brusted through the thick underground, crushing numerous leaves and some mint.

A man and short girl followed, both having chestnut colored hair and the same outfit as the first man. The other woman matched them, but was wearing dark blue for her jacket and baby blue for her shirt and pants. Her short hair has streaks of hot pink over blonde. Kilo grunted quietly.

That's ugly. Kilo thought blankly.

Then he spotted something alarming. I FORGOT TO SCAN THE AREA FOR FEATHERS!! NOW THERES SOME LIKE, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!?

Kilo frantically pushed Berry deeper into the bush, making way for him to go deeper within.

"Uhm." The original man said, shrugging.

"Didn't you say that you got a Sky creature?" The woman brushed off leaves and looked at her belts for branches while talking.

"Clearly, you imagined it or you did, but it got away." The other man holding the short girl's hand said. "Abi, brush yourself off of leaves, girl." He said to the girl named 'Abi.' She brushes off her shirt and pants, and her hair was carefully getting inspected by the other man.

"Dave, did you actually shoot down a Sky creature?" The woman asked after she brushed herself clear of leaves and twigs.

Dave hesitanted. "I'm not so sure anymore, Ava. It might just be a fluke-" then he spotted it.

"..what's this?" Dave asked, picking up the feather. His eyes flicked up and down it suspiciously, and then he realized it was a Sky creature's feather.

He whispered to his teammates, but Kilo heard it all. "Inspect the bushes. I was right, I did really shoot down a Sky creature. There's blood on this feather too."

Kilo jerked up quickly, then knew he should expose himself.

If I don't, then it's just going to be Berry getting caught! I can't do that to the children I raised! I'm already proud of Berry, surpassing Araceli in herbalist and remembered the secret teachings I told him my past life. Can't let this young one die!!!

Kilo creeped to the other bushes beside the one Berry was lying in. Then, when he was far enough and the original man closing in on Berry's bush, Kilo finally jumped out and ascended up into the sky, casting a huge shadow. Then, he got all of the humans' attention quickly with his hair, tail, and wings.

"COME AT ME!" He challenged the guys below. They stood there, looking at the strange thing in the air.

Then the original man yelled.

"GET HIM!!"
