Evelyn wandered about the street stopping by any company she came across with. It was difficult for her because she had never faced this type of hardship in her life before. People took her as a poor thing but she preferred living simply because she wanted to be on the same level as Kate. Her affection for Kate is beyond description because she loves her so much. She knows that hardship Kate has gone through since her childbirth and even now that she's an adult. Kate is a life fighter. She's the type that achieves what she wants even if she has to walk through hell to have it. She had lived her life hating men because if her past experiences.

"Good day" Evelyn greeted the receptionist of the "Sky walker insurance company"

"Good afternoon Ma, how may we help you?" The receptionist smiled as she asked. Evelyn cleaned her sweat with her handkerchief as she looked around the receptionist office.

"I saw a Vacancy board outside and it's requesting for a secretary" Evelyn said calmly and she tried her best to make her voice gentle and pleasant to the ear.

"That's right, Miss. Do you want to apply?" The receptionist asked amd Evelyn quickly nodded.

"Please, let me show you to the Boss's office" The receptionist showed her the way. Evelyn thanked her and then she made her way to the office shown to her.

"Good Afternoon, Sir" Evelyn greeted as soon as she was in the man's office. The man who was busy typing on his laptop, halted when he heard the girl's voice.

"Who are you?" He raised a brow. Evelyn gulped her spit hard. She couldn't even look at the man because of embarrassment. The other CEOs she spoke with, insulted her in mere staring at her face.

"I'm Evelyn Tee'orre" Evelyn said with respect as she bowed before him. The man hummed.

"I'm Raphael Kingston...Soo?" The man introduced himself too. Evelyn heaved a sigh of relief because she felt somewhat calm because the man's voice wasn't harsh and cold.

"I'm here to apply as a secretary" She hastily said as the man raised a brow. Evelyn eyes popped out die to man's reaction.

"Don't worry Sir, don't mind my dressing. I'm a specialist in dressing but I'm here like this because I wasn't expecting this type of job. I promise to serve you well and be a good girl. Please, Accept me" Evelyn rapped as she knelt down before the man. The man looked surprised. He didn't even say a world but this girl had finished it all and here she was kneeling in front of him. Raphael stood up from his seat and approached her.

"Pls stand up, Miss Evelyn" He urged her to get up but Evelyn remained adamant.

"I will only get up if tell me that you've accepted me" Evelyn stared at him. Her eyes were silently telling him to say "Yes, you can start working tomorrow".

"Okay, Fine. You are accepted, Miss Evelyn" Immediately he said their words, Evelyn quickly stood up and jumped I'm excitement.

Finally! Her roaming about today wasn't in vain.

"Wait, Mr Raphael. How do you know that am a "Miss" and not "Mrs"?" Evelyn curved her lip in anticipation for his answer.

"Looking at you, one can judge and you are not wearing a ring" Raphael said as he went back to his desk. Evelyn pouted her lip as she stare at her fingers.

"I gotta buy a ring because I can't stand this disgrace" Evelyn mumured and Raphael head snapped towards her.

"Why?

"Because, I don't want people to think that I'm not married. I'm only enough to find a husband but I'm not married due to some reasons." Evelyn said annoyingly and Raphael tilted his head. His concentration was back to his laptop.

"Good bye, I'd come tomorrow, sir" Evelyn bowed and left his office.

Kate swayed her feet to Zamiel's lazily itched her eyes. Her eyes were becoming blurry and her neck was inching due to the work. Kate head was banging hard.

"Miss Kate?" Zamiel said as he noticed her presence in his office. Kate didn't even reply a single word as her head was spinning around. She could hardly maintain her balance.

"I was asked to give this to you" Kate mistakenly throw the files at his desk as she lost her balance. Kate fell on an expensive carving and the both of them fell on the fall. The carving was shattered on the floor. Zamiel hastily carried her up and lay her on the sofa.

"Are you alright?" Zamiel asked and Kate nodded. Her palm drifted to her forehead. Zamiel knew something was wrong with but he didn't bother to ask.

"What happened here?" Alexander voice was heard. His office was just beside Zamiel's.

"Nothing much. It's just an accident" Zamiel said casually as he tried to brush the matter off. Alexander hawkishly cleared his throat.

"It's is something much. Do you know how much that carving is? It can pay her salary for a good year" Alexander pouted his lip as he stared at Kate. Kate shut her eyes closed. She didn't want to make an eye contact with this heartless being. She hated him, only heaven knows how much she hate this man.

"Miss Kate, isn't it better that you resign? I can't cope with you anymore" Alexander jeeringly said but he meant the words that he was saying. Zamiel short a glare at him.

"She's not leaving" Zamiel quickly objected before Kate could even speak.

"Well! Well! Well! Then she won't be paid for a good one year for the carving she destroyed" Alexander stared unsympathetically. Zamiel tucked his hand in his pocket

"I will pay for it. So, let her be and stop making her life miserable$ Zamiel warned Kate. A naughty smirk escaped from Alexander's lip. He turned around and left the office. Zamiel approached Kate and checked on her temperature. Tears gradually dropped down her eyes as she stare at Zamiel.
