Chapter 3

We walked into the store and I was immediately greeted by the cashier, "Good morning, Y/n, dear. What brings you here today?" She sweetly said. I greeted her with my forced smile and said, "We ran out of sesame seeds. Do you have any?" She nodded as she pointed to the spice aisle and I thanked her.

Sebastian and I walked over and I picked up a bag of sesame seeds and walked back to the cashier, placing the bag in front of her. "That'll be 10 dollars." The cashier said after scanning the tag.

I nodded as I picked up a 10 dollar bill from my pocket and handed it to her. She handed me the bag of sesame seeds and I headed out after thanking her.

Sebastian and I walked down the streets and I thought for a moment and said, "Did you hide the seal on my neck?" He nodded and said, "Yes. I believe it was a request from earlier." I nodded and said, "Thanks, but how long will you be able to hide it?"

"Just till fall." He said. I nodded and thanked him again.

We arrived at home and I gave my mother the sesame seed and she thanked the both of us and said I was free to do whatever.

I walked Sebastian to the backyard and I sat down on the summer swing that hung from a tree. "There are cameras around this house." I informed him as he sat down on the patio. He nodded and looked at me slowly swing my legs back and forth.

None of us said a thing for the next 5 minutes. "What were your other contractors like?" I finally said, breaking the silence.

"There was one memorable one, back in 1889. His name was Ciel Phantomhive. Such an intelligent master." He said. I nodded and said, "You really were alive for that long."

He nodded and said, "I'd like to know more about you." I looked down at my feet and said, "I'm not so interesting. There's not much to know about me."

"I'm sure there are interesting things about you, young master." I sighed and corrected him, "Y/n."

"The maidens told me to address you as, young master at all times." I sighed and said, "There are a few things you'll need to know about this house."

He nodded interlacing his slender fingers with one another and placed them under his chin, "I'm all ears." I nodded and started off by saying, "Well, first off, my father is a pastor and our whole house hold consists of Christian freaks. I think you noticed that there are crosses in every corner. Doesn't that effect you?" I asked.

"Well, those things don't have an effect on me." I nodded as I continued, "I'm not sure if the maids already told you this, but there is a separate room for the maids and butlers on the first floor."

He nodded again, "But I'll make sure to get you, your own private room."

"Oh you don't have to, young master. I wouldn't want to be a burden to you." He said afterwards. I shook my head and said, "It's nothing much. You can use the guests room as your own. It's across my room."

He gave a grateful nod and I continued, "Every Sunday, we have a Sabbath meal, there'll be varieties of food and drinks. My father will let out a prayer and bless the food. you can eat human food right?" I asked.

He nodded and said, "Yes, I love human food." I nodded and asked, "Does human food help cease your hunger? Or..." I stopped.

"Well no, human food doesn't help with our starvation, only a soul can. Sometimes we take a soul forcefully and sometimes we sign a contract." He filled me in. I nodded and asked, "When was the last time you ate a soul?"

"Almost 100 years ago." I looked down at my feet again and said, "You must be starving then..." He didn't say anything and got up.

I'll go help the others out. I nodded and followed him inside and headed to my room. I plopped myself down to my bed and thought about the mess I got myself into.

I got up and headed to my closet and took out a long sleeved, pastel blue blouse. My wardrobe didn't have anything black in it. I then took out some beige shorts and took off my old clothes.

I looked in my full sized mirror and then put on the new clothes I selected. Then I walked over to my desk and pulled out my scar removing cream from my bottom drawer. Then I took a box cutter from my crafts drawer and sat down on my bed.

I extracted the blade from the cutter and placed it above my forearm. Before I could make a cut my door swung open and I saw Sebastian staring at me and the box cutter above my forearm.

I inserted the blade back into the cutter and dropped the cutter on the floor, raising my hands up in the air in defeat. None of us said a thing. I got out of bed and took the box cutter and as I was about to put the cutter back into its place, I felt a hand grab my wrist.

I looked back to see what was going on, and saw Sebastian looking down at the cutter.

"I'll take that for the time being." He said. I nodded as he let go of my hand and I handed him the cutter. He then, looked at the cream on my bed and walked over to it. He picked it up and read the labels. "So that's how you hide your scars." He stated.

I refused to look at him and just nodded. He handed the cream back to me and placed the cutter in his pocket. "Your mother was looking for you." He said. I nodded and walked out of my room and headed downstairs.

"Please, keep this a secret." I asked, while walking down the stairs. He nodded and said, "Under one condition."

"That is?" I asked idiotically. "You won do it again." I didn't answer the question and headed down.

I found my mother in the living room setting up the table, which a few other maids. "Honey, you look stunning." My mother complimented me. I thanked her and she said, "I want you to help me chose the napkins. There are these white ones with golden prints on them, and these pastel blue ones. I think they both look cute. I need you to chose one." I nodded and walked over to her.

I picked up the 2 sample napkins from her hands and placed them near a plate. I looked at which one looked better with the plates and chose the white and golden one.

"I think the white ones compliment the plates more than the blue ones." I said handing the napkins back to my mother. She looked content and said, "You really do have a great taste honey." I thanked her and asked, "Would you mind of Sebastian joined us today?" She thought for a while and gave a disapproving look.

"I'm sorry honey, I don't think your father will be happy with that." I nodded and left. I walked back up to my room, Sebastian following behind me.

I walked into my room and sat down in bed and Sebastian stood in the center of the room.

"So what kind of human food do you like?" I asked, trying to make a conversation. He didn't answer. I looked down on my hands and stayed that way.

"Young master, I'd like to know why you do those foolish things?" I didn't look up. My gaze stayed planted on my hands. "Let's not talk about it. Do you want to go to my favorite spot?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"Let's go." I said getting up. He followed me downstairs and I informed my mother that I'd be going out and that I'd come back by dinner, and she agreed.

I led Sebastian down the streets and to a place far away from home. We walked up a tall hill and when we went over it there was a cliff. I ran towards it and sat down on the edge, gesturing Sebastian to do the same.

He did and I looked at the forest beneath the cliff. I took a deep breathe of the fresh breeze.

"Isn't this place wonderful." I asked Sebastian , still looking down. "Indeed, young master."

I didn't say anything. I heard something in the distance and slowly got up. "Where are you going young master?" Sebastian called out from behind.

"I think I heard something." I quietly said, walking towards the source of the sound. I walked through the grassy plains and saw a boulder in the middle of the plain.

I walked around the corner and saw...
