Chapter 1

"Honey! Let's go!" I heard my mother call out. I quickly tied my hair into a messy bun and ran out the bathroom, heading to the front door.

"Let's go, we'll be late." My mother said, locking the door behind. Everyone was in the car and you walked in and closed the car door. Your mother walked around the car and sat down on the passenger's seat, near my father.

We drove off and soon arrived at church. The whole way there, my parents blabbed about being grateful, and how God is always here for us. You see, I am not a Christian. Even though I was raised in a Christian family, I just didn't get the holiness into me.

Since I was the pastor's daughter, people expected me to be a saint, and near perfect. It used to bother me when I was younger, but overtime I learned how to deal with it. I was 'elite' so to speak.

My father parked his car and everyone walked out and entered the gates to the church grounds. When I walked in I saw my friend and his friend walk up to me.

"Good morning Y/n." The blonde boy said. His name was Jacob. He was my closest friend. And his friend, Isaac. Isaac had an obvious crush on me. In the beginning it was fine but over time, it got annoying.

"Good morning, Jay. How are things going?" I greeted back. Jay was a nickname I gave Jacob. "All good." The blonde said in return.

"Morning, Y/n. How are you." Isaac, greeted, trying to flow into the conversation.

I coldly said, "Fine." He gave a sheepish smile before I placed my hands into my pocket and headed to the main building of the church.

I sat down on my 'assigned' seat in the front, with the upper church members. "Good morning, young Y/n. What a beautiful day it is today." One of the pastors greeted me with a smile.

I put on a forced smile and returned his greetings, "Indeed. It is a really nice day. May God bless this beautiful day to." I said in a convincing tone. The pastors all, looked satisfied by the magnificent way I spoke.

In a few minutes my father walked up to the front and started us off with a prayer, "Dear Heavenly Father! We thank you for a new day you've gracefully given us. May you be with us today as well, and forever more. We thank you for the things you've done for us. For the bread, for the wine, for your blood and flesh we rejoice to everyday. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay for our sins. May we all look up to you and have faith in you. In the name of the Lord, Amen."

"Amen." The others echoed. My father invited the musical crew and we all stood up and worshiped the Lord with our songs. We sang for about 10 minutes and sat back down.

This was torture. It was agonizing. I swear each time I sat one this chair, but ass was about to fall off. I just listened to my father's words and tried my best not to yawn or fall asleep.

My family's reputation depended on my actions. Did they raise me, to be a worthy pastor? Was I good enough? Was I righteous enough? All those questions could be answered by my behavior.

I sat still paying attention to my father's words. My ass was numb I couldn't feel my body. It was pure agony...

After an hour of my father's blabber, it was finally over. I walked out of the building and found my Jacob and Isaac talking with each other in the grass. I walked over to them and sat down next to them.

"Hey, what you guys talking about?" I asked. Jay looked at me and simply said, "Just video games, we're planning to go to a the arcades next week. Wanna join?" He offered.

I kindly denied saying, "You know that my father will chew my ads off, if I went. Especially with a bunch of guys. Although I guess you guys would be an acception since you guys come to our church."

"Yeah. You're right." Jay said as a response. I got up and patted the invisible dust off my clothes and said, "I'll go get something to eat."

They both nodded and I walked back into the building. The line was really long and I let out a disappointed sigh.

I decided to skip for now and walked back out. I decided not to go back to the guys and headed to the shed behind the church.

It was an old building, which I'm sure hasn't been cleaned in ages. I remember coming here when I was around the age of 5, but everything else was a fogged up memory.

I walked to the old building, which was supposed to be an attic. The old door didn't have a lock on it so I welcomed myself and and saw a few boxes dusty boxes in the far corners.

I walked over to them and something caught my attention. It was a black book, the cover was leather and a black gemstone attached right above the center. The gemstone was in the middle of a star that had a circle around it.

I sighed knowing exactly what that star meant and opened the book. There were a bunch of old texts and drawings of a raven and spider. More texts and nothing really intresting. As I flipped through the pages, a piece of paper fell out of the creveses.

I picked up the piece of paper and saw a page number written on it. "Pg. 137." I flipped through a few pages before I found that exact page and saw a drawing of a raven inside the star with the circle around it.

Beneath the picture there was a text in English which read, "Come and sign the contract. Be by my side, be my guardian, and in return, you get my body." What I didn't realize was that I had accidently read it aloud and soon things went black.

I got up and saw that I was standing on a mirror. My reflection was clear below me. I looked around and I saw that I was engulfed in darkness.

"Hello?" I asked, standing still in spot. In the distance I saw a slender figure slowly walk towards me. I didn't move. I heard the footsteps get louder as the figure got bigger and bigger.

Soon the figure was clear. It walked up close to me and bowed down. "I see you have found me, master." I stared at the tall slender man. He rose his head and said, "I see you've finally come to sign the contract."

I didn't answer, instead I asked, "Who are you?"

The slender man got up and said, "I am Sebastian. Sebastian Michaelis. It's a pleasure to meet you again young master. I am here to sign a contract with you. May we?" He asked politely.

I stepped back and said, "We've met before?" The male looked at me and let out a laugh, "Well indeed we have, young master. You may not remember this, you were still a small child back then."

I gave him a questionable nod and say, "So, what do I do to sign the contract? Sebastian?" He walked up to me and pointed at the side of my neck, and said, "We just did." I placed my hand to were to pointed and felt a light sting. I slightly flinched at the pain and removed my hand.

"I need to go back to the real world now. Do you have any idea on how to take me there?" I asked looking around, trying to find something in the pitch black darkness.

"Indeed young master." The man said as he snapped a finger and the mirror beneath me shattered and I fell into a white emptiness.

I woke up, with a gasp and grabbed onto my neck and felt nothing. I let out a sigh of relief and said, "Thank goodness, that was a dream." Then I heard someone from behind say, "Perhaps young master, that was not a dream." I looked back to where the familiar voice came from and saw the same tall man kneeling down to me with a hand.

I stare at the hand for a moment and slap my face trying to wake up from this dream, but the pain was real. "Young master, please don't hurt yourself like that." The same voice said.

I looked at the worried man's face and said, "You're really Sebastian?" He nodded with a smile as I took his hand and got up.

"And that, just now, wasn't a dream?" I asked, still confused. He nodded and pulled off the white glove from his right and showed the back of this hand to me. I stared at the star in the circle and gently hovered my hand on my neck.

"You have the same mark on your neck, master." I felt my jaws drop.

"Y/n! Dear! Where are you!?" I heard my mother's voice call out from outside.

I panicked and looked at Sebastian and said, "Can you hide this mark? And do you like have the powers to disappear? What even are you?" I asked.

"Well, I am a demon and no, you can't just remove the mark, it's a sign of our contract. And I myself can't just possibly disappear either." I groaned in response and I thought about a solution.

I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed my mother's number and when she picked up I heard her say, "Where are you honey?" I sighed and said, "I got a bit hungry and decided to go out and get something myself. I was about to get good at church but the line was too long, and I was really hungry. I'm sorry mother."

She let out a disappointed sigh and said, "Come back home by 1:30, okay?" I nodded and said, "Thanks mom. Love you, bye." And hung up.

I looke at Sebastian and sighed. "We should wait here a bit, and when my parents leave, we can climb up the Walla and head back." I said.

He nodded and I sat back down, letting out another sigh. I looked up at him and examined his face, and his figure.

"So," I started, "You're a demon..." I said. His smile still plastered on his face, he said, "Yes."
