Flash back

Anthony ran back and forth playing a childish game with the little children of the neighborhood as the carried water on their heads back to there various houses.

" Anthony you have tried for the day come and eat something " Mrs mercy smiled speaking to her son as she sat in front of their house.

" Mum I can't let this small kids beat me I most come out victoriously let me just finish with the water I will come and eat " His eyes still on the tap watching the children smile walking passed him. Mrs Mercy laughed staring at her son childish grain she really loved seeing him this way a lot about him had changed after going to school.

" Okay fine go win let me not spoil your fun" before she could finish are speech he had zoomed off running ahead of the children as the ran after him screaming in excitement.

" Dear God I don't know what you did to my son but thank you am very grateful " She gave thanks are eyes filled with tears.

" Mum I won those children they thought they are wise but I showed them " He smiled happily enjoying his childish play.

" Byee byee uncle" The kids waved wishing him their goodbyes as the also went to their homes for the day .

Mrs Mercy stayed silent staring at her son face for a long time. Anthony caught her eyes on him with a smile on her face.

" is the something on my face those children hope they didn't rob something on my handsome face. mummy show me we're it is " He asked robbing his face to wipe off a stain that wasn't even their.

" Is it gone " He asked still wondering why is mother was gazing at him that way.

' What did you do to my son, are you a alien pretending to be my son. because if you are the Anthony I gave birth too then God is truly good " She smiled genuinely

" Mum what are you saying I have always been this way " He responded sitting by her side.

" My old son was nothing like what am seeing now the last time you played and laughed like this with our forcing or faking it was when you were still little I think 12 years old . but today you have a care free childish grain on your charming face "

Anthony laughed loudly leaning on the cold floor.

" Oh... mum let just say I meet an angle on earth " He smiled light face appearing in his mind.

" The angle you speak of have a cute name called light " His mother teased smiling at her son.

" Exactly mum am coming let me go eat my food I deserve it " He kissed her on the cheek standing up taking his bucket along with him into the house.

Mrs mercy sighed staring forward the morning breeze blowing her face a memory of the past flashing true her mind. Three years back 19 year old Anthony stood in the living room with a straight cold look letting his mother vent her anger.

" Ah woo this boy want to kill me. Anthony what have I done to you. why do you want your poor old mother to die " She screamed biting and pinching him every we're on his body as she cried the young guy kept a straight face he was the head of a dangerous gang in his neighborhood so is mum small bitting and pinching didn't hurt him one bit the scares he had on his body were much worst.

" Mum stop crying" He spoke in a plain tone hugging the woman who tried to struggle trembling in his arms.

" Anthony please don't kill me don't let you poor mother struggling go to van " She cried in his arms.

" Mum I will write jamb if that what you want but don't expect me to like it. I will go too school I promise you mother don't cry any more" He wiped her Eyes placing a kiss on them .

Anthony stormed out of the house in rage leaving his mother alone to celebrate. He had written the jamb as promised and passed in flying colors for the course he had ones had dreams for medicine. He went to the school but never attended class not for one day just moving around school ground doing nothing but waste his time for two good years not returning back home to see is mother as a punishment for making go too the university not on his own well. On the second year he decided to write jamb and passed again that was how he started hundred level with light group.

Her flash back ended when Anthony called out her name from inside she smiled standing up to her feet Going into the house.
