Chapter 5: Canon Starts

1st Person POV:

After that incident, Mira completely changed her looks and personality. She no longer wears gothic-looking dresses and acts arrogantly. Now, Mira is a loving and caring person who treats her friends, and even strangers, with kindness. She wears a bar-maid outfit. She has long, white hair which curls slightly at the ends, with two bangs framing her face and reaching down to her chest; her hairstyle's most distinctive trait is a short, upward ponytail obtained by gathering and tying the hair covering her forehead. Due to her always adopting such fashion, her hair seems to have adapted to it, with the hair on her forehead remaining pointed upwards even when not tied.

Mira plays a motherly role within the guild and is often seen running the bar at the guildhall. She has rarely been shown to be in a bad mood and can tolerate all of the guild's eccentricities. She stopped going to quests and started modeling. But she still trains daily to maintain her fighting prowess.

Mira and I have gotten quite close to each other. We flirt a lot in the guild when I'm back from my job. I've started developing feelings for her and I'm pretty sure she has feelings for me as well. I'm just not ready to start a relationship when the start of the canon is just around the corner.

During these years, I've gotten a lot stronger than before. Now, my Domain can cover 200m in radius. My magical and physical prowess has gotten a significant boost. I've also opened my second origin in the magic container, so I have pretty good endurance in a long-lasting battle.

My Re-equip magic also improved a lot. Now, I have 100 cubic meters of storage due to it. Traveling is a lot easy due to Re-equip magic. I wonder why nobody bothers to learn such useful magic.

I've also met with Gildarts Clive when he was back. We had a spar and it was a pretty one-sided match. Gildarts just use crash magic to destroy my every attack. The only spell that works against him was my Domain. But, he just uses crash magic and attacks me to disrupt the domain. I lost the match and learned a valuable lesson to improve my other magical spells as well as improve my domain to work while I'm moving.

Due to Gildarts, my Domain improved a lot. Now, I can keep my Domain active even while moving. My other magical attacks also improved a lot during time. It is still nowhere near zeref/acnologia's level but I'm pretty sure to fight against other antagonists in this world.

I still spar with Natsu and Gray every week to improve my hand-to-hand combat.

Now, while I was flirting with Mira, a piece of news caught my attention.

"Hey, Natsu! Did you hear that there was a salamander sighting in Hargeon Town? Maybe you can find information about your dad there." said a random guild member.

"Really!? Thanks a lot. Hey, Happy! We're going to Hargeon Town to find Igneel." said Natsu as he quickly called his feline friend.

"Aye, sir! Let's buy lots of fish there as well." replied Happy. I honestly think the cat's head is full of fish.

After they quickly left the guild, I saw Macao taking the Vulcan subjugation quest to impress his little son.

Everything is going to start now. Canon will start and with it, new enemies will keep appearing each stronger than the last one.

"Hey, Mira! I'll go to the forest for training. See you soon." I said as I got ready to leave the barmaid.

"Do you have to train so much? It's like you're ready for war every day. Try to relax sometimes." said Mira jokingly.

'There is a war coming now. I can't say that to her now can I *sighs*' I think while sighing.

"Still who knows what will happen tomorrow. I don't want to regret wasting my time when can I train to be stronger. Still, I'll be able to relax if you accompany me for a date. Anyway, I've gotta go now. See you soon Mira!" I said jokingly while leaving the barmaid behind.

"If you just ask me out then I'll gladly say yes," said Mira in a low voice while pouting. She is cute when she pouts.

I quickly arrived at the forest and started training. 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and 10 km running is my daily training while wearing gravity enhanced clothes.

I'm not like those shounen protagonists that always carry weights with them in the name of training. What if someone took advantage of your slow speed to assassinate you. So, I always try to stay at my peak condition while going out.

While I was training I keep trying to remember some important plot events to prepare for.

After I finished my training routine, it was already dark. So, I quickly went toward a family restaurant for a meal. After the meal, I went home, took a shower and lay down on the bed to sleep.

"After Lucy arrives, canon will start. Let my adventure to become the strongest start then." I said with determination.
