Chapter twenty eight.

The sudden question brought a silence to the other end. "Ellie, I cannot run away forever, the people who made my life a misery are enjoying themselves, so why should I be afraid?" Just the thought of what she had gone though made her clench her fist. She touched her belly, the life that was growing in it was no more, only because she loved the wrong person. She lived in depression that if it was not because of Elena and Rita, she would still be the same miserable girl as before.

Elena knew what Cassie was thinking, the pain of loosing her baby, almost made Cassie commit suicide, "Cassie, what about your previous career? Don't forget you were an actress before you became a lawyer."

"No, I am no longer interested in acting, Kalen and Becky will do it better."

Elena did not press any further, "so when do you plan on coming back?"

"The day after tomorrow."

"Okay, I will send Robert to pick you up at the airport. Bye, I have an auction to attend to tomorrow, so have your final tour before you come back," without waiting for her reply she hung up and helplessly looked at Rita.

"She is coming back right," after Elena nodded, she also sighed and said, "it is okay, let her come back. Besides all of us are here, so why would we let her stay there? Also, she cannot run away from her past forever, we are here to support her." 

"Elena dismissed everyone and only her, Rita and Martin were left in the room, "Martin, tell Robert that he will need to pick Cassie at the airport the day after tomorrow, so he should be in contact with her for more details."

Martin bowed and left, "I guess we will be having a girls night out." Rita could not hold back her excitement, "I will inform Becky and Kalen," she stood up, picked up her bag and started walking towards the door, "oh, and I tell them to send me the bill for whatever you will wear tomorrow, it is on me." She opened the door, winked at Elena and blew her a kiss then left. The only thing Elena could do was click her tongue.

The auction day arrived, from two in the evening to five in the evening. The Davis group auction was just below the Robotech company auction, the only difference was that the latter was more successful than the Davis group's auction. The Davis had used a lot of expensive resources and all was wasted, all the very important people they had expected did not come, leading to a major loss.

Damian was so upset, "what happened?"

"Sir, all the conglomerates received an invitation through email from Robotech company. They were introducing a new model of robots plus they added the host to be the madam."

"How comes you are telling me this now?"

"The invitation was sent yesterday, and we were not included." The assistant replied. Damian gritted his teeth, but he still wonders why the owner of the company is not interested in seeing him, nor having a meeting with him. 

"Is there any videos of the Robotech company's auction?"

"I will go and check."

At the same time, Damian received a call asking him to go back to the mansion, his father had requested to see him. He left the office early and went back, the voices were so loud that he became more irritated, "babe, you are back!" Came Anna's joyful voice, "I was just telling your mother how we met,"

"Continue talking," he looked around and did not see his father, "I am heading to the study to speak to my father."

"Your father is not in a hurry, you can catch up with your fiancée and talk to him later," his mother said.

"I have no time for that," leaving his mother shocked, he walked towards the study and knocked, and after there was a reply, he walked in.

His father motioned for him to sit and said, "so what happened today? I have been receiving calls of how much of a loss today was."

"The Robotech had also organized the same event as us, and you know how influential that mysterious woman is,"

His father nodded, "how come you did not know they would also hold an auction today? Were you not supposed to check the events that will happen this month on the calendar?" 

"I checked, and this month was clear, you know I had planned for this auction a few months ago," after saying the last part, he suddenly realized something, the message he had found on his desk next to the divorce papers, he started wondering if Sarah had something to do with this, and how is she connected to Robotech company? "Robotech organized their auction at the last minute."

His father nodded, "I told you to make sure you have a partnership with Robotech, that woman is mysterious but very influential, how far have you gone with it?"
