When Mavis, Zera, and Kei make it back into town they go toward the cathedral. Blue Skulls' base is located there and that's where Yuri and Precht are now. When they enter the cathedral they see Yuri holding the orb. He greets them.

"Oh hey, guys welcome back. As you can see we won."

When Kei sees the orb he can feel the malicious intent radiating off of it. He doesn't know how powerful it is but he doesn't want to risk it.

"Yuri let go of the orb!"

"Oh, so it's finally time to fight for the orb. Sorry but I'm going to be the one taking it."

Kei decides to rush him. He sprints at him until Precht gets in the way and blocks him.

"So you guys are aiming for the orb?"

"That's not what we meant! Long ago the orb absorbed too much evil power and was sealed. If you touch it you'll fall under its control!" Mavis yelled nervously.

Precht looks at Mavis and feels something is wrong.

"Yuri drop the orb." Precht tells him.

"Are you going to believe her!?"

"It's the truth!" Mavis says.

"She's lying! You know what kind… huh?"

Yuri was going to say something but all of a sudden the orb lit up. Precht tries to stop him however he gets bounced back. Kei used his Light Orb and shoots a beam towards the orb but it repels it.

"Damn it! We need to get out of here now!"

Kei grabs Mavis by the waist and jumps out. Precht also jumps out of the building. Once they get outside they see the dragon on top start to move. It wreaks havoc and starts destroying buildings all over.

"Shit! That dragon should have Yuri's suppressed consciousness. The evil is influencing him to destroy everything in sight."

Kei can't do much for him with the spells he has. The light orbs that can purify would be useless to save Yuri because they would damage him instead. If he knew how the orb worked then he could try to solve it but there are too many factors that are unknown for him to do anything substantial with his magic.

He then remembers a spell Zeref taught him. But before he could think about it he notices Mavis running toward the dragon.

"Mavis wait!"

Kei runs after her, leaving Precht by himself. He sees her on the roof trying to talk to Yuri. Then a large blast comes out of the dragon's mouth so he hurries and jumps on the building. He shoots a light beam to offset some of the damage while grabbing Mavis by her waist.

"Mavis, I know you are nervous right now but stop being reckless you can't help him if you die."

"Sorry and thank you."

They land back on the ground and Precht rushes over.

"All we can do is bury him with our magic. He is too far gone and out of control."

Even if he doesn't want to there is no other choice. Yuri is destroying the whole town and in a few moments, everything will be gone.

"Wait, I swear to you that I'll protect Yuri and Magnolia!" says Mavis.

"But how?"

Precht was skeptical that she had any way to save Yuri.

"I need to get close to him."

"That's reckless Mavis."

Kei intervenes in the conversation before she can say anything more. He knows what Mavis is going to use to save Yuri. Although he agrees that magic is the last option they have he still doesn't want her to use it. It is in an incomplete state after all.

"Isn't recklessness just a part of being a treasure hunter?" Mavis asks.

"You're not a treasure hunter!"

Precht yells at Mavis. But before Mavis could retort Kei steps in and asks her a question.

"Mavis, why are you doing this?

Mavis stays silent for a few seconds and then starts talking. "Warrod, Yuri, Precht, Zera, and Kei. I want all of us to be friends! I don't want the adventure we had to end in sadness. I want a happy ending. So even if it's reckless I still have to go." Mavis starts running off in the direction of the skeleton dragon.

Kei and Precht stand in silence for a few seconds before Kei starts laughing.

"Hahahahaha! She is still so reckless even after I kept warning her! Oh well, I'm going to make sure she at least doesn't take on that burden alone."

Kei starts running after her leaving Precht by herself. He knows that Mavis will try to use an incomplete magic spell so he decided to help her. He also figured out the spell is probably the reason she was cursed in the manga. He could stop her and cast the spell himself but Mavis would probably keep blaming herself. Along with the fact that it's too dangerous for him to be cursed since he has to go back home eventually. If he went home with the curse then it would kill the people he cared about.

He decided to cast law with Mavis. It would allow the burden to be split between the two and hopefully, make it weaker so he could suppress it somehow.

When Kei caught up to Mavis he sees she has gotten on the dragon by using her illusion magic to form coins. He was surprised when Yuri went for them. He was impressed by his greed still being able to show on the dragon when his consciousness is locked away.

He then looks at Mavis jumping on the back of the dragon and sweat drops. There should be a limit on recklessness right? Kei asks himself but jumps on the dragon as well.

"Mavis stop! I know you are going to use Law however you were told not to use it until it was complete! Are you sure you want to use it!" Kei yells.

Even if Mavis was dead set on using Law he still wanted her to know there will be consequences to using it.

"That's right Mavis, you don't know the consequences that will occur because of the spell."

Zera yells all of sudden from behind surprising Kei because he didn't notice her. He turns around and looks at her confused.

"When did you get here?"

"The same time you did."

Zera didn't bother to elaborate. Kei just ignores her and looks back to Mavis.

"Law is magic that destroys what you consider evil and saves what you consider good. It is the only way to destroy the evil from the orb and save Yuri." Mavis tells them.

"That only works after you understood it fully!" Zera yells.

All of a sudden the bone dragon hits houses and almost injures Mavis. However, before Mavis could hit the house a bright light surrounds her body. The dragon crashes into the buildings along with Mavis.

"Mavis!" Zera yells.

"I'm fine." Mavis says.

Mavis knew that she should have been injured but she came out unscathed. She remembered the dragon crashing into the buildings however before Mavis could hit the house she felt a warm light surrounding her body.

Kei climbs up next to Mavis.

"You should be more careful in the future. You could have gotten hurt if I didn't protect you."

"I'm sorry." Mavis embarrassedly says.

All of a sudden the dragon pushes Mavis and Kei up in the air.

"Mavis! Kei!" Zera yells

They land on the head of the dragon.

"We're fine Zera!" says Mavis

"Hey Mavis I know you want to save Yuri but the consequences might be extremely bad."

Kei warms her for the last time.

"I know but I still have to risk it." Mavis tells him resolutely.

Kei looks at her and smiles which confuses her.

"Alright, then I will take half the burden from you. We will use Law together. That way the risk will hopefully be split between the two of us."

Mavis is completely shocked.

"A-are you sure?"

"Of course I am. I consider Yuri a friend and want to save him as well. Besides I can't allow you to do it alone. Who knows what could happen to you if you activated Law right now. I can't allow you to harm yourself recklessly. I treasure you after all."

Mavis starts to turn beat red because it feels like he confessed to her. She starts having fantasies in her mind before Kei yells and she comes out of her stupor.

"Are you ready Mavis!"

"R-Ready!"

"Jump!"

They hold hands and jump off the dragon's head to the front of its face.

"Law!"

A bright light envelopes the surroundings and the dragon bones collapse and break apart. The orb breaks and Yuri is safely on the ground.

"You guys did it. You saved Yuri and the town." Zera cheers excitedly.

However, when she looks at them they are passed out on the ground.

"Kei! Mavis! Hey, wake up!" Zera yells, but no matter how much time passes they don't wake and stay lying still on the ground.
