Chapter 30. Claire's Turmoil-1

I keep my mouth shut, letting the Luna speak first. Claire glances at Uncle Jerry, who has lost his relaxed demeanour. Tense and on edge, he chooses to keep a vow of silence, just like me.

"Fighter Montgomery." Claire murmurs sweetly, smiling at Uncle Jerry. "Could you give Aly and I some space? There are some things I need to discuss with her."

"I'd prefer to stay here, Luna." Uncle Jerry grunts suspiciously, glaring at a quiet Gomez.

"I'm afraid that's an order." Claire shrugs nervously. "Sorry, I don't mean to be rude. I just...really need to speak to her. Alone."

"If this is about the Midnight Fire Alpha, then I can assure you there's nothing fishy going on."

"Well, that's something I should ask Aly; don't you think?" Claire replies a little abruptly.
