Chapter 28

Soon enough my priestess Tenma arrived after her duties and likewise, I realized I was definitely right about people somehow finding out about me hosting a little get-together for dinner as of all people Flandre Scarlet was flying up towards my mountain like she was running from something or more likely someone?

"Hmph, I see then," I muttered gathering Tenma and Sakuya's attention as I watched from behind the rushing form of Flandre was the chasing duo of Remilia Scarlet and surprisingly Patchouli was flying atop a large bean bag or something looking half asleep as she followed Remilia.

"Well, I suppose a couple more guests won't tax my food... Especially with how they drink blood." I mused before looking at Sakuya. "Sakuya, Remillia is chasing Flandre up my mountain. Invite them to join us for dinner. I have some extra blood on hand from making my dwarves." I ordered and she swiftly took off after telling me the girls liked their blood at around body temperature.

Rather than bothering to keep blood at a certain temperature I just enchanted a couple of large ruby-incrusted golden chalices to do just that while I was splitting my attention making a veritable feast to feed Yuyuko and the others. But the Ghost Princess's gluttony was the biggest reason I was making a whole spread.

"My Lord I was curious how... Accurate your sight is upon your mountain. Do people have any privacy at all?" She asked and I hummed in thought as I considered how to answer it.

"I certainly do see all, as it were. Literally, everything is within my eyes, but do I pay attention to everything is the real question?" Seeing the petite Tengu frowning at my non-answer I chuckled as I leaned my chin on my fist as I watched Sakuya meet up with Flandre and hug the distraught girl allowing her pursuers to catch up.

"The answer is a resounding no to that. If had to watch every single blade of grass and leaf rustling from the wind that was atop my mountain, I would be driven mad." I explained with Tenma nodding in understanding, but I didn't mention a couple of important tidbits about my sight.

Any form of magic or just the actions of people in general was kept in close view and I was already a bit torn on what to do when people try to kill one another here on my mountain as this was Gensokyo. Not Earth, violence leading to sometimes grievous wounds was just another Monday for the Youkai and monsters of the land.

Especially with how these Youkai mostly were spiritual entities and could just reform in time should they be killed.

"Let's get going to the back veranda," I said as I saw Sakuya leading the Scarlet Devil Mansion in that very direction while Ran came out of a Gap with Yukari Yakumo. Chen Yakumo, Yuyuko, and her retainer Konpaku.

I quickly controlled the wind around the two parties and had it whisper. "Our little party will take place on the veranda due to the large number of... Extra guests." I said making them all look around to find where my voice came from but I was already in the back of my Cathedral in the veranda to entertain guests in a less formal setting.

"My lord, do you need any help getting stuff settled for the feast? Actually, why don't you have servants to do this kind of thing?" She questioned as I amusedly watched Chen being all nervous at not being able to find me and just being a dick, I had some very cold air blown into her cat ears making her yowl and look around like a scaredy cat before Ran picked up her familiar in her arms, so I didn't bully her anymore.

"Granted for appearances I suppose servants would be good... But when a mere thought can prepare perfect food and likewise teleport it to and from around my Cathedral with no issues, why should I bother with a slow servant who will have little else to do as my Cathedral of all things will not get dusty." I said with disdain clear in my voice at the thought of my pristine Cathedral getting smudges or dirt staining it.

"I accepted Sakuya not only because well... When a mother rips out the heart of a servant and gives them a new one that ties them to myself, I didn't have too much of a choice. But Sakuya is a bit of an exception as she is capable of stepping out of the timeline so any chores, I have for her are no different from doing them myself." I explained.

Me and Tenma then talked about some other lighter topics which included the Tengu's settling into their newer homes and one of the White Wolf-Tengu, the Tengu's with dog ears and a tail taking a strong focus in almost religiously patrolling the golden road from my Cathedral to the end of my consciousness range.

"Any particular reason she is so fixated on it?" I asked in curiosity as I looked over there and look and behold there was the somewhat busty form of Inubashiri Momiji slowly flying alongside the road made out of solid gold.

"Ah, that's for a good reason Lord Moria." Tenma smiled as she took a sip out of the light Sake I poured for us to inhibit while we waited the few minutes it would take for the other parties to reach here.

"Lord Moria as you know all too well how the Youkai here in Gensokyo are more of a spiritual entity and as most of them are of species or Yokai types that feed off of humanity in one way or another whether it be their actual flesh or merely their fear. The Tengu that came to Gensokyo is also more of a spiritual nature compared to the lesser Tengu clans that serve Lady Yasaka in the outside world." Tenma said which explained why the Tengu's here in Gensokyo were so much stronger on the whole in comparison to the trash mobs of Tengu in DXD.

"But Tengu do not feed off of humanity as we are closer to a Zashiki Warashi or house spirit that ties themselves to an area to feed off it. Tengu in particular are bound in 'protection' of an area and the more important the area, people, and such that we take on to protect the stronger power we are fed."

Tenma then smiled wryly as she brushed her hands through her auburn hair as threw me a look. "If I wasn't your priestess, I would have fought little Momiji for that very right to be the one with the patrol rights to that golden road... As it's such an obvious target and of such importance to your land it's feeding her quite a good deal of power." She said before she went to wet her mouth with more Sake.

As the Scarlet Devil Mansion landed with Sakuya and Ran leading her own party consisting of her family and the ghost faction of troublemakers I made the platters of food I made teleport onto the large table I had set up for us to eat at.

"Oooh I was already missing you my best buddy!" Yuyuko cried out happily as she walked past Ran and the others to give me a tight stone-breaking hug literally picking up my heavy body like it was nothing with our bodies practically melded together before she instantly let go of me and, quickly pulled out a chair before I could adjust from being dropped back to the ground from her abrupt greeting allowing her to bury herself into the feast I had prepared.

"Lord Moria. I apologize for my lady's uncouth actions." Youmu Konpaku came up to me bowing contritely as she blushed as Yuyuko loudly broke the thick bone ribs of a cow's side with her teeth she even ate the bones and ligaments with seemingly no shame at all.

"Your mistress is the very embodiment of a hungry ghost. Do not worry little Konpaku I understood that I needed to measure Yuyuko's eating habits in the weight of the filled plates rather than serving size!" I joked making the half-ghost retainer relax at my easy-going manner.

While I meanwhile turned to go sit at the head of the table while Ran and Sakuya sat on my immediate left and right I snapped my fingers and atop the empty space on the table where the vampire sisters were sitting the enchanted chalices I prepared were teleported in front of them.

"These chalices are enchanted to keep blood fresh as though straight out of a body and at that same temperature," I explained as Remilia gently picked up the chalice and swirled the chalice around that was filled with blood, I had collected from the constant skirmishes atop my mountain between Yokai though I made sure to filter the blood, so she wasn't drinking a hodgepodge of different blood types.

Then before Flandre could carelessly chug the drink Remillia stopped treating the blood like some kind of wine that needed to be 'aired' out or whatever and she sipped it before lightly smacking her lips and gave me a respectful smile in appreciation. "Thank you for preparing blood for us... It's also of high quality and from a virgin?" She questioned and I couldn't help but chuckle at how nonchalantly she asked, as though it was like asking if the wine, I was serving at the party was stored in an oak or cedar barrel.

"Perhaps... Anyway, I welcome you all to my Cathedral!" I spoke to all the people attending my little get-together and now finally I focused on Yukari who... Was not happy I was greeting her last of all people basically.
