Scarlett part 1

(Authors note: This chapter might be a bit confusing but that doesn't mean you should stop reading, with time you will understand but for now just bear with me.)

Everyone stared at Blake with looks of appreciation in their eyes. It felt like in movies when someone was about to get killed and a hero appears out of nowhere and saves the person. That is how they all felt.

When Fury saw the looks they were giving Blake, he said "This was your plan wasn't it?"

"Yep" revealed Blake truthfully "although I didn't want it to go like this,it still worked out in the end.

I actually wanted more people to die before I showed myself but when I saw that little girl in danger I had no choice but to come out."

"But why did you have to play the role of a hero for these weaklings?"asked Fury still not getting the point.

"Because of the first rule of warriors of various book: always have backup with you. If I just showed up out of nowhere, no one would want to help me but when I appear as someone who saved many lives they would accept me and I would even be able to use the army and others for myself. They think I'm doing it to help them when actually I just want to use them" revealed Blake without any fear or shame.

'This kid really is dangerous' thought Fury to himself.

"All that for killing a level 9 beast?"asked Blake. He then picked up his skill scroll that the beast dropped and then he fastened it into his pocket,he would learn how to use them later.

Blake then looked towards the gates of Lexville and saw the problem the soldiers were having with the monsters and ran over there to assist them but didn't move at his fastest so that others could see him.

The citizens watched the back of their saviour until he disappeared from their sights,at that moment the head of the man who pushed the little girl and ran off suddenly dropped on the ground and the body also collapsed on the ground, those around the man began to panic but the killer was actually Blake who moved so fast that no one saw him.

When Blake got to the gates,a soldier walked up to him and said"Get away from here and get back to the city where you will be safe,we got this under control".

"Oh really" said Blake sarcastically.

Blake then ran passed the soldier directly into the frontline of the squad that were facing the beast's. He then ignored all the yelling that were directed at him and with just one swing of his hand,he was able to cut one of the beasts in half with his Hack Sword,completely leaving the squad of soldiers in complete shock. Although this group of soldiers also saw the system message,they ignored it and used their own method of fighting as the trained soldiers that they were. But now, their methods were completely useless in front of this person who killed a monster with just a swing of a sword which it took the soldiers about 50 bullets to do.

Blake was also a bit surprised at his new found strength but didn't bother to linger as he continued killing monsters at the gates. In about five minutes, half of the monsters have been annihilated.

"Don't just stand there, let's help him!"yelled the squad leader at his troops to help the mysterious young man who is surprisingly saving their lives by taking the beasts out one by one. The troops didn't waste time and began firing their gun and throwing grenades at the beasts.

Another five minutes later,all the beasts were cleared,all the soldiers finally calmed down and began cheering at the victory they had just attained.

"Thank you for helping us,young man" thanked the squad leader at Blake."If not for you,we would have all died".

"It's not over yet"said Blake in a cold voice.

"What do you mean?"asked the leader in a slightly worried tone but Blake could no longer hear what the man was saying as he was distracted looking for the hidden enemy.

In fact,till now dozens of messages were still flashing in his eyes informing him about the monsters he killed but he couldn't care less about them,he managed to see one of the messages telling him that he had levelled up but he didn't pay attention to it either.

"Are you sure that there is still an enemy here?"asked Blake in his mind to Fury. Fury was the one who informed Blake that there was still a beast left.

"Of course, I'm sure. I can still feel the aura of the beast here"said Fury to Blake's question.

"But can't you just tell me where exactly it is?" Asked Blake as he couldn't just figure out why Fury wouldn't just disclose the location of the beast to him.

"Sorry kid,you have to figure that out yourself" said Fury to Blake. "All I can say is watch your steps".

The moment Blake heard those words,he was confused at first but then,realisation strucked him. He then looked at his sword and stabbed it into the ground hoping to find what he was looking for.

When the troops saw the person who had just saved their lives, repeatedly stabbing into the ground, they became on guard. Even the leader also became cautious.

Blake finally hit something but the moment Blake hit it,he felt the object disappear as if it had never been there before. Blake then focused his amplified senses due to his constant levelling up and tried to listen to the ground. He then finally found the beast and looked at the group of soldiers and yelled in a loud voice "Below you!"

Rumble!

The ground shook and the group that Blake had yelled at were sent flying and a four meter long worm came out of the ground where the group of soldiers were standing a minute ago.

The worm then advanced towards Blake at surprising speeds and was about to attack when everyone heard a beautiful voice yell...

"Piercing feathers".
