Chapter 8 - Its cool

As the party got started—

Miya had let the neighbors in, along with the old couple's friends who had come to see a new baby. They had brought gifts just like the old couple had done when they came over.

The gifts included some medicine for Miya and even baby essentials for Xian. The couples had listened to their kids' suggestions and brought things for the new parents they knew were needed.

Miya was so worried why Matthew was taking so long, it's been so long since he left to go get her relatives. Her older brother Micah and older sister Nina came to see her and her baby.

Her parents and her other siblings were still mad at her for eloping.

Miya checked her phone, Matthew finally called back.

"Babe, what's taking so long everyone else is here? How far away are you guys?"- Miya

"Why don't you come outside?"- Matthew

"Huh" Miya was still confused when she came out of the house to meet not just her older siblings but even her aunt and some of her younger siblings.

"Miya, our sweet darling." 

That one sentence started her water works, all of them came together in a hug.

The siblings patted her back and just murmured they missed her. Miya had left only for a year and half, her family felt pain from her sudden leaving. 

Miya asked Matthew to take her aunt in as she catches up to her siblings.

The aunt and siblings had brought gifts for Miya and her baby. They ended up learning about her having a child after the eloping news, they were happy and were able to understand why she left them so quickly. It was better she go, live with her partner then their parents accept them later rather than them stressing her out and having huge family fights.

Miya's sister had brought things like special jewelry, a fancy stroller and makeup for Miya.

The boy's had pitched in and got some land for her in this neighborhood. Her brothers had gotten Xian new toys and even a special vest for Matthew.

"You guys didn't have too!"- Miya 

"We just wanted to get you these things Miya. They're here just in case, we trust Matthew no problem. We wanna make it clear we're here for the three for you even if Mom and Dad are angry. No offense Matthew, we know you're reliable as a strong but as a space soldier is already a dangerous job. Not adding the fact, that the thunder space army is top-notch but we know the risks of that job is."- Zain explains to Miya they're not here to intimidate Miya's in-laws and her husband, but the boys had investigated Matthew. They had found out how he was a special soldier and what real type of missions he had been in charge of just like his brother.

"Zain! Miya we just wanted to give some meaning gifts before our parents."- Nina

"It's okay, you guys are taking safety measures for her." - Matthew

"Leave all these complicated conversations for later, lets see the little sunshine Miya." - Miya's aunt Cheryl.

"Follow me, your just in time. He should be up from his nap." Miya leads them to the living room.

Grandpa Ace goes in Xian's room and brings back a little baby was in a cute red onesie wrapped in a black blanket.

"Oh, look at the little man." - Matthew

 Little twerp (Original xian) - Brother why are you so tired already. 

Big Brother Snake (other xian) - I was just preparing something for your mom.

Little twerp - Our mom Brother

Xian snake - But…

Little twerp - Brother we are in the same thing. You me are her baby. She's your mom too.

Xian snake - But I'm a spirit snake.

 Little twerp - Not anymore my big brother we're Xian.

Xian snake - Whatever you say, little idiot. I'll help "our" mama.

As the family's celebration is going on, the neighbors and Miya's relatives are looking at Xian very closely.

The little baby was babbling to them and was not scared.

"Miya, his eyes?!!" Someone's shouts.

Everyone turned to check the little boy's eyes and noticed they were red.

"His eyes are red?!!"

"The doctor told us, he has a rare color of irises. Red irises are very rare." Matthew informed them as he took the baby from the aunt's arms.

Matthew then asked Miya to take Xian's hat off. Once the hat was taken off Xian's dark black hair that's a little curly.

Matthew puts little Xian on his shoulder to pat him on his back.

Little twerp- What's happening?

Xian snake - Dad's just helping mom and making her happy.

Little twerp - Oh 

~~~ The Xian snake's thoughts:

So, now the banquet has started. Father is making sure no rumors about us and Miya.

But we need the cursed item out, the best way is I make the little twerp cry.

I could use the spell, and get the favorite toy right by the item.

Xian is now waiting for the perfect moment.

The grandparents are watching others fawn over the little baby. They both are happy that the couple, no more fights and just have a happy family.

The guests mingling around are taken to see the baby's nursery. Shortly. after Matthew's older brother was with the rest of his family.

The older uncle Kang brought his wife and son Nathaniel(6).

"Look who's here." - Vivian

"Grandma!" Nathaniel yells as he runs to her arms.

"Father, you're here too!" Kang greets him and hugs his father tightly.

Grandpa Ace did love his family, he came out rarely due to work. His children understood why their father tried so hard. With the duty to keep the respect as the oldest son and now raise his children with his wife the best he could.

Kang remembered listening to his parents about the secret.

22 years ago (flashback)-

Vivian had asked Ace why he kept working as a space soldier.

Even after his first poisoning attempt, Ace went back to his base to work.

"Vivian, you know how this world works. I'm not letting what happened to my aunt, happen to you or my sisters." - Ace

"But, Ace there so many other ways to keep working, you have so many other skills and can make those excellent weapons."- Vivian 

"Even if I change professions, attention will come after us." - Ace 

Ace's thoughts: {Especially with the work I've been tasked within by the captains.}

 "Ace… What about the boys?" - Vivian

"I'll explain it to them myself, don't worry." The secret will continue along with the boys and their children.

The space soldier is not just their job but their protection from others.

I'll have to ask the boys and who's willing to go for duty to keep the legacy going.

Kang and Matthew decided to follow Ace's path working in the space force. Ace who was getting the family base started, and trying to keep it a secret.

Ace was slowly, slowly getting his boys involved with the family secret. The reason he was taking so long in the force now was so the boys wouldn't be targeted like him. The family weapons were to be introduced to them step by step very secretly.

Kang's thoughts :

{I have Nathaniel, and Matthew has his son now. 

We can teach them what Father taught us.}

"What's his name? C'mon share it Matthew, did you or my sister-in-law here decide it?" - Kang

"It's Xian" - Matthew

He turned Xian around, the little baby was waving his hands around and now stared at the new people.

"Wow dad, look my little cousin has red eyes." Nathaniel commented

"They're really rare that Matthew had told us." - Ace

"So cool!" - Nathaniel
