MMORPG: Rebirth Of The Strongest Mage

Everdawn. It was a game that was released to the public in 2025. What made it a hit was that it was the first-ever V.R.M.M.O.R.P.G released to the public. In no time it became the best game in the world. Soon people started to create things called “guilds”. These guilds were like the teams in E-Sports. However, they were more like companies. This was thanks to the game's “money” feature where you could trade in-game money for IRL cash. Elias Thorne was one of the greatest players in Everdawn. With his skills, he was able to be a part of the Valhalla guild however, fearing his power the guild kicked him out but not before stealing his account. However, out of pettiness, they gave him a small item that he had received from one of his first quests. But the next thing he knew he was back in time 14 years before Everdawn was released. With his newfound knowledge of the future, he was going to rise to the top and get revenge on those who betrayed him.

Grinding (2)

I ran through the trees as I tried to find some monsters. While I could've bought the [Magic Sense] skill the place where I went didn't have it meaning I'd probably have to go to the second town.

While I did have the thought of running to the other town and back I decided to just wait until I completed the quest. This was mainly because the monsters up ahead wouldn't just fall for a simple [Dash] trick.

'If only I could level this thing up'

As I internally grumbled I stopped as I saw a bunch of goblins or well three of them.

[Forest Goblin Level 13]

[Forest Goblin Level 12]

[Forest Goblin Level 11]

Forest Goblins aren't exactly superstrong but they are still stronger than a regular goblin due to their ability to use the forest to their advantage.

'Hm'

However, there was something that not many people knew yet.

And that was that Forest Goblins are never alone. To be more specific a forest goblin is always in a "tribe" where there is a lot of loot and a lot of goblins.

My eyes twinkled

'What a lucky day!'

However, just as I thought that a shadow cast over me causing me to turn and see a giant bear.

'Of course'

Immediately I jumped out of the way using [Dash] avoiding a giant claw.

[Tasmanian Bear Lvl 14]

I observed the bear.

The thing resembled a polar bear, well if a polar bear had brown stripes all over it and a giant horn.

"Raaa,"

The bear charged toward me however, I simply raised my staff and used [Fire Blast].

*BOOM*

[You've Killed [Tasmanian Bear Lvl 14]!]

[+538 EXP]

Looking toward the goblins I saw that they were running away which caused me to let out a sigh before I started to chase them. The goblins were fast however, I used [Dash] to keep up.

Soon I saw the goblins let out a breath as they were panting. After they stopped they got their daggers ready as they waited.

Suddenly a rabbited hopped out of the bushes causing the goblins to run and quickly kill it. Small animals like birds, rabbits, and turtles did exist in the game however, you couldn't do much until the third update.

That's where the cooking feature was added allowing players to cook for experience and eat their creations to gain health and mana.

'Wonder if the cooking glitch would work'

But if this glitch is patched then they'd probably be able to find the other glitch right?

With a sigh, I simply waited for them to go to their layer. After they started to walk I started to follow them and I then made it to a giant area that seemed that have some fortresses in the trees. However, around the fortress was a fence made of wood.

'Jackpot'

I then quickly activated [Fire Blast] causing a giant explosion at the entrance of the fortress.

[You've Killed [Forest Goblin Lvl 11]!]

[You've Killed [Forest Goblin Lvl 12]!]

[+328 EXP]

[You've Killed [Forest Goblin Lvl 13]!]

[+361 EXP]

[You've Killed [Goblin Scout Lvl 11]!]

[+373 EXP]

I then entered through the smoke as a message appeared in front of me.

[You've Entered [Goblin Fortress]!]

Grinning small orbs of light hovered over my hands "Let's have some fun,"

*BOOOM*

*BOOOM*

Explosions happened all around me however, to my disappointment, there weren't any death notifications. I then quickly put up a magic barrier stopping a bunch of arrows that were aimed at me. I looked up to see the structures filled with goblin archers in the trees.

Looking ahead of me I noticed that many of the goblins were injured but not dead which was thanks to their wooden shields that were destroyed.

"Ugh should've put more power in them,"

With a sigh, I activated [Flameforge] causing flames to spew out of my staff before it condensed and formed a blade.

Charging toward the group of goblins I quickly activated [Dash] appearing in front of the group of goblins. Swinging my staff I was able to kill the 2 of them.

[You've Killed [Goblin Warrior lvl 12]!]

[+300 EXP]

[You've Killed [Goblin Warrior lvl 13]!]

[+364 EXP]

Using dash again I appeared behind a different group of goblins and killed all three of them.

[+366 EXP]

[You've Killed [Goblin Warrior lvl 12]!]

[+324 EXP]

[You've Killed [Goblin Warrior lvl 13]!]

[+357 EXP]

I quickly activated [Magic Barrier] blocking the arrows that were shot at me again. With an annoyed click of my tongue, I simply snapped my fingers causing small orbs of light to appear around the small platforms that were in the trees.

This caused many of the goblins to fall from the platforms however, only 1 actually died but I didn't get any EXP from it which I found bullshit.

'Now that I think about most of this early game stuff was bullshit'

With a sigh, I quickly killed all of the other 8 goblin archers who were rolling in agony on the floor.

[You've Killed [Goblin Archer lvl 12]!]

"Well, I guess that just leaves…"

I then turned toward a hut and after a few moments, the entire front was blown open revealing a pretty big goblin.

[Hobgoblin Lvl 14]

"GRAAAA!"

I then cast [Fireblast]

*BOOM*

[You've Killed [Hobgoblin Lvl 14]!]

[+459 EXP]

"Ok well…that was easy…"

[You Cleared a [Goblin Fortress]!]

[+500 EXP]

I grinned at the sky.

Considering that Everdawn was new not many people knew how most of the classes worked. Take my magician class for example, most newbies just chanted the spell causing the game to automatically generate the spell.

However, there was in fact a certain formula that all mages used in the future.

This formula negated the chant as it was a form of silent spell casting. Of course, it was pretty hard to do but with enough practice, you'd be able to do it. Thankfully I didn't need to do much but now that I think about it I started to wonder.

'Did the creator know what I was doing'

I hadn't checked the forms yet so I'd probably be in the clear from the players but the dungeon clear achievement must've caught their eye no?

I shook my head.

'Useless thoughts'

What I needed to do right now was level up so I could prepare for the boss.

Entering the hut I couldn't help but let out a sigh.

Three pieces of Evergold, an axe, a rusty sword, and that was about it.

'They never keep the good stuff in their hut'

I decided to take the axe as I thought it would catch a pretty nice price. Afterward, I went toward one of the trees. I used a small fireblast to damage it causing a small hole to appear. Looking inside my eyes sparkled.

[+4,500 Evergold]

[Gemstone x5]

[Mana Crystal x1]

'Not bad'

Hobgoblins and forest goblins tended to keep most of their stuff in trees rather than caves.

Exiting the fortress I then decided to hunt some more monsters. However, sadly I wasn't able to find any monster which was kinda of a bummer.

However, then an announcement appeared above me which made the situation around me make a lot more sense.

[World Announcement!]

[The Player [Lumina] is the first player to reach level 18]!]

"Oh, that explains it,"

Honestly, I felt like I should've been less surprised.

In my previous life? Timeline? I'm not sure about the term but previously Lumina was one of those rich people who were good at everything they did, from the rumors and later his opening his guild where only the "strong" could join, I learned that his parents owned a multi-million dollar company.

'Right he should also be in university if I'm not mistaken'

But that thought didn't really fill me with joy. I had met him in the past however, that was in a guild war where my guild the Valhalla guild, and his guild "The Ascended" fought. The bastard killed me so many times.

Safe to say we lost.

'God imagining his annoying face saying "pathetic" is still fucking cringeworthy'

With a sigh, I got up "Guess I'll have to go wait near the dungeon,"

If he was here most of the monsters would probably gone meaning I'd have to wait a bit more for them to respawn.

"Damn he's such a pain no matter what time he is in," I cursed

A corpse started its process of pixelation as a man sat on a rock with a casual expression as he checked his status screen.
