Summer's POV

"Shien!" I heard some girls from our group calling his name when we reached the village. We arrived almost past the afternoon since we woke up late. Many people attended to him as if he was the only one who got lost for a night. From then on, Shien plastered that fake smile and acted accomodating to them as well. He seemed to forget that I am with him. I shooked my head in disbelief and left them.

I sat down on one of the small benches in front of a local's house and sighed. Everything's normal now. We came back safe and sound. But why do I feel empty?

"Hey," I heard Gio said as he walks towards me with his hands on his pocket. He still looked cool and fresh despite our mishap last night. "You okay?"

I nodded at him. "I'm sorry for all the trouble. I almost got everyone in danger of being reckless."

He sat beside me and caressed my hair with his hand. "Yeah, you are one crazy girl. But, you kept everyone safe in the best way you can. You're forgiven."

"Thanks," I smiled at him and fixed my hair. "Did the dean knew what happened?"

He sighed and gave me a fake smile. "Yeah. But it's okay. I've handled it already. Good thing nothing happened to the both of you. That's all I wanted."

"Will the students will continue to stay here in Isla Minerva?" I asked. I know for sure that some parents might pull out their children if they knew what happened.

"Some will come back to Manila and just make some activity to fulfill their requirements. Nothing to worry about." He said and got his phone in his pocket. "I'll just take this. Yes sir?"

Then, he left me alone for a few minutes. When he came back he had this serious face and gestured me to take the call.

"It's Sir Vero," he said and left me.

I feel like my stomach will burst because of fear and tension. I hope he will not take my scholarship away. "This is Summer, Gio told me that you wanted to talk to me."

"Yes, Miss Cortez. You clearly knew what happened. Now, the name of the school was almost tarnished because of your reckless move! You could have let the officials of that place took over, instead of you deciding on your own!" I can feel his anger and frustration to me. I can't say anything though. And even I know that what I did was good, I know that it was still wrong.

"I am sorry Sir. I will not do it again." I sincerely said to him. I repeatedly apologize for some more before he talked again.

"You better do that Miss Cortez because the next time you made a mistake like that again, we might pull you out from our scholarship program. That's it, goodbye." That's all he said and hanged up on me.

I suddenly felt the urge to cry. I sat and hugged my knees and let my tears fall. All I wanted was to study and do what I want. But why does it feel like even dreaming was wrong? I just felt so alone and tired. I missed my family and I don't have anyone to turn to know. Even Shien, who was back to his reality, and suddenly forget about me.

I just want to go home.

I stayed there for some time and was about to get up when I felt someone put a blanket on me. There I saw the kid who went lost last night. "Roel! Oh, thank's for this."

He smiled at me and tried to brush my tears away using his little hand. I grabbed it and asked him, "Are you okay?"

He just nodded at me and left. Then, I stand up and hugged myself using the blanket he gave. Then I saw embroidered letters in the blanket. "SAO?" I said to myself. What does that mean?

I was into deep thinking when I heard a loud and irritating voice. "Where's my boyfriend?! Shien, where are you?" Then, I saw Sass coming towards Shien and gave him a warm hug. I suddenly wanted to give them a round of applause. Shien looked happy when he saw Sass. He assured her that he was fine and nothing happened.

"Let's go?" I heard Gio asking me from my side and looking at Sass and Shien at the same time. I nodded because I felt tired as well. We bid goodbye and gratitude to some of the locals and left.

We rode the jeepney owned by the Isla Minerva. No one was talking to us. I guess we were both exhausted from all the chaos that happened last night. And for a moment, I suddenly prayed that the remaining thirty-six days can be a lot better than today.

The entire week happened like expected except for the fact that Sass came with us the whole time. Because of that, I distanced myself to Shien the whole week. I think he was starting to notice it but he never talked to me about it. Or maybe, it was just all in my head?

It was Sunday today and it's free time for everyone. We can do whatever we want as long as we are staying within the resort's vicinity. Many decided to stay outside the beach to play and swim. Some took some pictures and talk to their friends. And since, I don't have those, I decided to sleep and study all day. I don't want to see Shien today. I am feeling jealous every time I see him with her.

When it was lunch, I decided to do not to go to the cafeteria for the same reason. I have food in here from the gifts of the locals. I decided to eat those and continue my mini relaxation in my room. After that, I slept again.

Then, I was awakened by a loud banging on my door. I don't want to get out of my bunked bed so I acted like I'm hearing nothing. I thought after some minutes, my weird visitor will left. But, I was wrong.

"Just, wait a minute!" I shouted in frustration. Probably it's one of my roommates who forgot their room key again.

I went down from my bunk bed and fixed my hair. Then, when I opened my door, there I saw Shien holding his guitar. "Hi!" He said and smiled. I immediately decided to close my door but he put his arm on it. Then he shouted in pain because of what he did.

"What the hell?" I said to him and opened the door. Then, I went to the fridge to get some ice to put on his hand. "What were you thinking?!" I asked in frustration.

He looked at me intently and say, "You. Why are you avoiding me, Summer?"
