Ch 15; The runaway Luna

" You didn't tell me the Dante who you all were talking about is Viktor's father, He is the one who wants you dead, the one who started the war "

" You didn't ask, and I thought you would know, you have met him a couple of times in the past, even though they were not so relevant, he is also a Beta," He said firmly, talking as if he was not bothered by it one bit. As if he was not hurt that his former friend's father was after his life and title.

She stopped herself from thinking that far in, she stopped herself from trying to understand him.

Kyra never really asked a question, there was no one to even ask since she had left all that behind her three years ago, so she had thought, but now she was there again, about to live through it all again, It pained her to see that he had no choice but to be in a constant fight with a friend, she looked at him, although he tried not to show as much emotion as possible, his face grim, she just walked silently beside him.

When Kyra was mated to Conri, they had just made love everywhere in the first month, that was the only activity they were both interested in, their wolves went crazy about finally being mated and crazy about the mate chosen for them. Before Kyra even found out that they were going to be mated to each other, she had only seen him a couple of times, they had not been able to talk to each other at all, they only saw each other from a distance, but the sparks going around them was too crazy they could not hide it, so it only made sense that they were meant for each other.

Kyra and her sisters were the only ones left in her family, she had tried to hide them inside as much as possible, making them stay indoors, not participating much, and showing up only when it was mandatory, they were only out on important pack events and meetings.

So it could have been understandable that they didn't know some of the wolfs that attacked the pack the pack, Kyra had told him that they didn't come out of their home at all when their parents were still alive, their parents had made sure that they only came out of rare occasions and when their father wanted Kyra and Lola to practice their defense.

They said it was something along the lines of protecting them from what was unforeseen, they loved them and provided them with everything they needed, they didn't really need any reason to be outside, only those times when they would go out when all the pack members where back in their rooms to practice.

They entered into the room that was always used for their meetings, the council members were present, including whom she now recognizes as Dante , he was sitting comfortably on the chair that was meant for the Alpha and nobody had thought to question him. Immediately Kyra and Conri got inside , they all said their greetings , but Kyra felt that there was tension , her powers were nothing like reading wolfs' minds , but she knew something was off, she looked at Conri beside her , he was not feeling or looking like he noticed anything like she did , so the feelings were probably just in her head , since it's been so long she had stepped inside the pack house. Maybe what she gets for coming back after three long years were just strange feelings. She was thankful they seemed to pay no mind to her at all.

"Welcome " Dante stood up from where he was sitting on the chair that was meant for the Alpha , he was surprised , like he didn't know Conri was going to come back so early.

"You could not wait for me to die, you just had to occupy my space "

" You say that as if I have ever wished death upon you. . . I am just warming the chair up for you " He said as if that justified his action. The rest of the council were murmuring, not sure what they were murmuring about.

" GET OFF MY SPACE ! ! ! " He growled That was the first time Kyra had heard Conri use his Alpha voice, it was unexpected and the whole place shook. " HOW DARE YOU DEFILE ME THIS WAY? " He added, making everywhere shake again, Dante could not help but obey, he was shaking, and it would only cause him pain if he disobeyed the voice.

Conri looked at him, his eyes turning into red , and it was as if he was almost shifting into his wolf. Kyra noticed it fast enough , her first thought was to reach out to him, maybe she would be able to stop him. She touched him , and he stopped.

"You sent an omega after the Luna of this pack! You sent someone to kill her " He confronted him

" I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, " Dante said , his face unrevealing.

" Oh, I know you do ! And I am sure you have received news of the severed head of your minion. I am going to kill as how many you have sent after me, I will kill anyone that just as much as put their tip of a finger on her to hurt her, I will kill them. . . tear them to pieces and watch their blood drain away from them " That scared Kyra , but she understood that he was only saying that to secure her pride.

Dante completely ignored that the minion he mention " And who is the Luna of this pack , you have refused to claim anyone " he asked

Kyra just stood there looking at what transpires in front of her , she didn't say anything , even though she would wish more than anything to get out of the room at that moment. She was looking at the floor with her two hands tangled in front of her. She felt Conri 's hand seeks hers , finally getting to hold it. But it had happened so fast that she had not been able to retreat her hands, she had no idea what, what he was about to do was going to affect her life , but she would have trusted him, for that moment , she would not want to disgrace him in front of all the committee members.

" She ! Kyra Kessler of safe moon pack ! From today I claim her as Luna and mate of the safe moon pack "

Immediately those words were spoken , Kyra paused , thought about the words again in her head, and she had just heard him right. She looked up at him , meeting his eyes , he was giving her a reassuring smile , telling her that everything was okay.

Kyra regretted trusting him at all, she does not need his reassuring smile now , how dare he just pull her into their problems.

" You are the Alpha ! what you say should be put into consideration, she is your mate after all " One of the council members spoke , she recognized him as she turned to reply Conri, it was Rob Ezra, she had seen him with her father a couple of times before.

" There is no need for any of my words to be put into consideration, I have said what I want to say. Just carry it out, prepare for the ceremony " He paused to look at the faces of the council members and then asked "Does any of you have anything to say about what I have just declared? " He paused for a few minutes waiting for someone who would say otherwise. Kyra looked up into Dante's face, he was fuming but he dared not say anything.

" Good! The official ceremony will be in two days. Prepare for whatever is needed " He said as he went out of the room, still holding unto her hands.

He didn't leave her until they had walked into his bedroom, and she didn't even bother to try to fight it. Eyes were looking, she had found herself worrying about how her outburst could tarnish his image. Even despite everything she still cared for him. She wondered how Dante would be feeling now, completely humiliated.

" Are you crazy? Why would you say something like that in the face of all those people? " She finally could say, she felt like she would burst into plenty of emotions all at once.

" What are you angry about Kyra? " He asked, but not feeling a bit remorseful.

"Are you going to play as if you don't know what I am talking about or you don't remember what you have spoken right from your mouth like five minutes ago? "

" I am not playing dumb Kyra, I really do not know what you are talking about that could make you so angry, " the facial expression on his face says he was genuine, but how could he forget?

" Don't freaking play with me, you just claimed me as your Luna in front of them, how can you do that? I never agreed to any of that. I have to find my sisters and leave this place "

" You are not leaving anywhere," He said firmly, then continued " Is that why you are acting so furious? Because you will be the Luna of this pack! That should not come as a surprise to you, you have always been one. You were just away for a long time, the runaway Luna! My found Mate " He laughed heartily carrying his head up like he was enjoying himself.

" You must think this is a joke , I am not going to do this for you, if this is your way to bring me close to you,l refuse. I have not forgiven you yet "

" Sshhh Don't say that. It's not only for me, it's for the people of the pack, have you not seen how disorganized the whole place has been without its Luna " He moved closer to her pushing into her until her back was against the wall. The caress of his breath circulated all over her body, his lips barely an inch away from hers. And she wanted it, she found herself almost telling him to kiss her right there.

" Damn you! Conri " She said pushing him aside so she could catch her breath.
