New Powers?

The doors to the emergency room of the hospital bursted open, "What do we got?" asked a female doctor as several nurses wheeled Izuku on a stretcher.

"Male, 14 years old, struck by lightning and was thrown into a batch of chemicals." One of the nurses answered. "BP is 80/60, low but stable."

"Come on Midoriya stay strong!" Said Hatsume as she followed behind them.

"This kid is still alive, he's lucky they found him when they did. Alright let's put him on the bed, one two three." With the help of the nurses they managed to put Izuku on a bed. "Alright, kid has some burns and cuts on his body let's get those patched up."

Hatsume stood at the doorway pacing back and forth as they began to work on Izuku.

However, as they were putting some sensors on Izuku his heart rate suddenly skyrocketed. "What the hell? What's going on? He should be fine."

That's when the EKG machine began to flatline. "Starting chest compressions!" One of the nurses then began CPR. That's when another came in with the AED.

Hatsume covered her mouth in pure shock, as Izuku's body began to shake, "M-Midoriya?"

That's when another nurse walked up to her, "Sorry we need the room, you have to leave."

"No, I want to stay! Please let me stay!" Yelled out Hatsume but the nurse simply grabbed her shoulders and pushed her out of the room.

Almost in tears Hatsume looked through the glass panel. "Clear!" A nurse yelled out as the machine shocked Izuku. Suddenly the lights inside the room turned off, "Now a power outage?"

"Come on focus, we need to get this kid back. Chest compressions!" Ordered the doctor.

After 4 minutes of chest compressions the lights finally came back on, that meant that they could use the AED again. Hatsume watched from outside as Izuku's body jerked up from the repeated shock.

A few minutes later Mitsuki and Masaru walked into the waiting room. Sprinting towards the desk Mitsuki demanded to see Izuku. Unfortunately for her they were still working on him and couldn't see him now.

They did however find Hatsume sitting alone in a chair in the lobby. "Hatsume? What are you doing here?" Asked Masaru.

"It's all my fault." Hatsume said much to their confusion. "If only I cleaned up those chemicals, Midoriya wouldn't be here…"

"Hatsume, what happened to Midoriya?" Asked Mitsuki.

Looking up and with tears in her eyes Hatsume responded, "Midoriya got hit by lightning and was thrown into some chemicals. I heard it all on the phone, I got worried so I went to the hut and there I found Midoriya on the floor barely breathing. The last I saw him his heart stopped beating. It's all my fault."

That's when Mitsuki kneeled down and grabbed Hatsume's hand, "This wasn't your fault dear, this was just a series of unfortunate events. Don't blame yourself, besides you of all people should know Izuku won't go down without a fight."

Masaru nodded, "That's right, if anything Midoriya will come out of this running like he always does."

Hatsume nodded, "Maybe you're right."

A few hours had gone by now and still no word on Izuku. That is until a nurse came out from the front and called out Izuku's name. The three of them quickly got up and were escorted to where they were keeping Izuku.

Walking into a room Izuku laid on the bed with his shirt off and several wires attached to him. Standing at the end of the bed was the doctor who treated him, "Izuku here is lucky to be alive. Thanks to being struck by lightning his heart became erratic, he suffered multiple seizures. We have him stabilized for now at least, that could change later."

Mitsuki raised an eyebrow, "You're not telling us something. What happened to him?"

The doctor sighed, "He's in a coma."

Everyone's eyes widened, "What?"

"It seems whatever kind of chemicals fell on him caused it, that or the fact that he got struck by lightning. We don't know when he'll wake up or if he will at all." Explained the doctor.

"N-No…" said Hatsume as an overwhelming sense of guilt fell over her.

"What do we do now?" Asked Masaru.

"We wait, Izuku will stay here in the meantime where we will monitor his vitals and take care of him." Explained the doctor.

Masaru hugged Mitsuki as she stood beside Izuku. "No matter how long it takes, we'll be right here waiting for you kid." said Masaru.

Hatsume sat on a chair beside Izuku, reaching out she grabbed his hand, "I'm sorry Midoriya."

The following days Hatsume would get out of school and head straight to the hospital, usually she would see Mitsuki there sitting by Izuku's side. "Hey Mrs. Bakugo,"

"Ah Hatsume, how are you?" asked Mitsuki.

"I'm good, any changes?" Asked Hatsume.

Mitsuki shook her head, "No, he's still not showing any signs of waking up."

Hatsume frowned, "I see, do you mind if I stay here for a while?"

"Not at all, in fact, I think Izuku would love your company." Said Mitsuki with a smile. "Plus it will give me a chance to stretch my legs, so watch over him will you."

Nodding Hatsume watched as Mitsuki left the room. As she did Mitsuki watched through the glass as Hatsume began to tell Izuku about her day and all the new ideas she had in her head.

Even Bakugo would visit the hospital regularly, he didn't stay for long but he did always ask how he was doing.

Soon days turned to weeks, weeks to months and still Izuku didn't show signs of waking up. Curiously, he would still seize up and flatline but that was impossible. Doctors were baffled by this and couldn't seem to find out why this was happening.
