Chapter 31: Early Morning III

Sitting at his desk, Peter couldn't help but feel a bit more relaxed now.

Today had been going great so far.

He got on a first-name basis with Nejire, had some incredible pancakes, hung out with his friends a bit before they had to make their way to school, and even found the yen equivalent to about 20 bucks.

It just felt like he couldn't lose today, like he was finally catching a break free from his problems.

At least for today.

Even if it was a half-day today, cause Japan was weird like that.

Seriously, who approved having school on Saturdays?

Ha-Nejire Was bouncing up and down talking to Amajiki about something, whIle Peter was having a conversation with Togata.

Talking to him about a very important subject.

"Are you sure you guys aren't a thing?"

Togata's cheeks grew a bit redder, with the boy waving his hands in defense.

"No! Me and Tamaki aren't like that!"

"Dude, you were cuddling, at a sleepover . With two other people sleeping next to you."

You know, Peter didn't even know why he cared.

Guess it was either out of pure boredom or frustration of neither of the two actually making a move.

Maybe a little bit of both.

"I moved in my sleep! We aren't like that!"

The brunette was about to say something before an idea hit him.

An explanation.

"… are you scared to tell him?" He asked, unconsciously tracing the scars on his forearm.

The blond was about to protest before pausing and hanging his head in defeat.

"Absolutely terrified."

Ah, there we go.

All Peter could do was give him a sympathetic pat on the shoulder before changing the subject.

Maybe he'd help him out if they took too long to get together.

Yeah, that might be entertaining.

Peter pulled out his phone, seeing how they still had about a minute before class.

Scrolling down a news app he used to use to find crimes he could see that All Might had caught that sludge villain that held that middle schooler hostage earlier in the morning.

At the end of the article, Peter's eyes widened at the name of the hostage the villain had taken that day.

A head of spiky ash-blond hair, angry crimson eyes along with what seemed like a permanent scowl that portrayed nothing but annoyance and hatred.

Katsuki Bakugo.

It was that 2nd year with the explosion quirk back at Aldera! The one that went around school like he owned it and was a total jerk all the time!

Man, either way, Peter couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for him.

Even if he was a… horrible person and just sucked to be around, no one deserved to be held hostage by a villain like that.

Not even him.

Quickly, Peter turned off his cracked phone and placed it back into his pocket just as the back of his head tingled slightly to signal the giant door opening.

"Morning." Aizawa greeted, hands in his pockets as he walked up to the podium. "I have a few announcements to make."

Oh, that wasn't ominous at all.

20 bucks that he makes some merchandise and starts giving out autographs.

"First off, good job at the USJ yesterday; it was by design that you got thrown into the exercise without actually being told how to conduct rescues to see how you guys did, not bad."

Peter had to resist the urge of calling Aizawa a proud mom right then and there.

He'll probably do it when he gets him that 'World's Best Mom' mug.

Crap, he's gonna need to save up for that joke.

Eh, it'll be worth it.

"Second, we'll be having another field trip next week." Aizawa started, the brunette only raised an eyebrow and leaned forward in his seat. "Nezu wants to try and have more educational heroics classes so he's set up for the hero course to go to the Musutafu Museum of International Heroics. Class B will go on Tuesday and we'll go on Wednesday."

You know what? That sounded kinda cool! Peter hadn't been too much of a museum guy but he's heard that the Musutafu Museum of International Heroics was probably one of the best museums in the world.

Now, he wasn't too knowledgeable on what exactly was there, but he's heard they even had some exhibits on some X-Men things.

Might be cool to see stuff about American heroes.

Wait! Maybe he could take some pictures there to sell to the Bugle!

"And lastly, the UA sports festival is coming up in two weeks." Their teacher announced, with everyone but Peter voicing their excitement.

Even Amajiki seemed pumped!

Thing was, Peter wasn't entirely too sure about what the sports festival even was.

Given how he had been pretty preoccupied for the last year, spider powers and all, he hasn't had a chance to actually tune into the event.

From what he understood, it was some sort of massive event that UA hosted every year and broadcasted to the entire country for students to show off.

"Given how this is on-par with the Olympics back in the 21st century, there will be a lot of eyes on it. It will be the prime opportunity for you four to show off your abilities and get noticed by agencies for internships and work studies.

Not only that, but as there are currently 16 open spots in this class, general education students will be aiming to show that they belong in this course."

Noticed by agencies? Peter was pretty confident on the idea of not being affiliated with an agency when he actually gets a license since that just wasn't his style, but he guessed it'd be good experience right now.

I mean, Mirko made it to Japan's top 10 without an agency or sidekicks, why couldn't he?

Wait, could he get an internship with Mirko? That'd be sick!

Too bad she didn't take sidekicks.

"Now, I kept you four in this class because I can see potential, and I expect for you to show everyone that same potential and do your best, plus ultra," Aizawa said, running a hand through his hair before pulling out his yellow sleeping bag from… somewhere and went to sleep right then and there.

Huh, that was probably his version of a pep talk.

it wasn't even that bad of a speech!

Nejire went back to talking to Amajiki about whatever as Peter rolled his shoulder.

He wasn't the competitive type, but he wanted to do good at that festival.

Not too sure about trying to win the whole thing, but he was gonna try his best.

To show the world that he deserved to be where he was now.

To show himself.

To show May and Ben.

He'd be spectacular out there.

Just for them
