U.A. Entrance Exam

[U.A High School]

"Well damn, as expected of U.A." yeah, that's the first thing comes out of Kurayami's mouth when he saw the U.A. front gate.

Everything about the school screams "elite", "prestigious", and "shit ton of money". That's Kurayami first impression after seeing the school layout and environment.

Before coming here, Kurayami had already done a bit research about this school's history, everything about it's past and the present time. Even though he's already watched the anime, that doesn't mean he remembers every details like this.

From what he had gathered so far, the U.A. High School is considered as the top Hero Academy in Japan.

According to the official website, there are approximately 220 students each year will have the opportunity to study at this school. All the 220 students will be divided into 11 classes and each class will have 20 students.

Every year, there are hundreds of students from various places in Japan who will come here to participate in the entrance exam. This is because everybody knows U.A is a top tier school that has produced many popular high ranking Pro Heroes of today such as All Might, Endeavor and many others. They all come here hoping to have the same experience as these heroes and of course, the training facilities that provided by the school can also be a good reason too.

Everyone also knows that out of all those who participate in this test, only 40 of them have the opportunity to enter the Hero Department which is divided into 2 classes namely Class A and Class B. While the rest will go to the General Department, Support Department and so on. These 40 students of the Hero Department in each class will have the chance to graduate and become Pro Heroes who have to face the public and embrace the responsibility as heroes in the future.

To sum it up, all the students who have successfully entered U.A High are all usually exceptional and talented in all kind of aspects. As long as they're not slacking off and worked hard consistently, their journey to become a hero will definitely be smooth and becoming a Pro Hero is guaranteed.

-Back to Kurayami-

He glance at the crowd and have to admit, quirks are very interesting. He saw many different kind of quirks on the way here.

'Yeah, just as I thought, this world is very interesting.' Kurayami nodded silently as he continued to observe the crowd while walking calmly towards the hall with the other students.

'Hmmm... it seems the exam pattern is the same as the anime mentioned. The first part of the exam is a written test. After a 30 minutes break(Note: I made it up), they will conduct the last part of the exam which is the practical test and between the two tests, the practical test is much more important than the written test.' thought Kurayami as he expertly twirled his pen while waiting for the test to begin.

He looked at the blank test paper on the table in front of him and he had to admit it was a bit thicker than he expected.

'Well, this is U.A after all, everything must be Plus Ultra, I guess?' Kurayami thought confusedly but still maintained confidence that he could pass the written exam.

'If that that perverted Mineta can pass this exam, I should be able to pass the test too.' he thought.

"Well, everyone should already have their own test paper right? If there's anything else you want to ask, please ask me now." a teacher asked the students, after seeing that no one has any questions he continued "Alright, you have 3 hours to finish the written test. The written test start now!"

'and....done.' Kurayami thought as he finished checking his answers. Kurayami had already finished the test earlier than he expected so he decided to go over all the answers he had written, making a few corrections here and there.

There were like several hundred of participants in this exam so they decided to divide the participants into several groups and place us in different classrooms so it would be easy to monitor us during the test. Since Kurayami had nothing to do now, he decided to observe the other participants who were placed in the same classroom as him.

'Hmmm... Oh, isn't that the guy who can merge with dark things? Heh, very interesting, if I'm not wrong, the way he travels through the shadows is very similar to mine, his quirk is basically a downgraded version of mine. Let's see who else... This vine-like green hair, reminds me of that Charlotte Roselei's Briar Magic. If this girl can copy some of Charlotte's fighting style, she will be a formidable opponent.' He thought as he looked at two particular people in this class. He then continued observe the other participants too.

After he finished observing and analyzing the other contestants' quirks as much as he possibly could, he closed his eyes and decided to meditate while waiting for the test to end.

*RRRRINGGGGG!!!*

Kurayami calmly opened his eyes after hearing the sound of the bell signaling the end of the writing test.

"Alright, the written test is now officially over. Everyone, please leave your test papers on the table. After the 30 minute break, you have to go to the auditorium where the briefing for the practical test will be held. I wish you the best of luck." said a teacher with a smile.

Everyone left the class as told, leaving Kurayami for last. He suddenly turned his head towards an unsuspecting poster featuring All Might in the corner of the classroom and stared at it with a sharp gaze for a few seconds before his face returned to normal with amused smile on his face. Then, he left the classroom like the other participants.

'Heh, as expected from U.A, the written test is also not as simple as I thought. They are always watching, monitoring and evaluating their prospective students through the hidden cameras. So that's why I felt like there's something wrong when I entered the classroom.' He smiled a little as he left the classroom and went to the cafeteria to eat something.

[Observation Room]

-Teachers P.O.V-

"Did that young man just..." All Might said in surprise looking at Kurayami's action through the hidden camera inside the classroom.

"Yeah, looks like he noticed the hidden camera. What a strong sense of perceptions." said Midnight, nodding while praising Kurayami.

"Looks like this year's students is the strongest batch we've ever had. Endeavor's son, the young lady of the Yaoyorozu family, Ingenium's younger brother and then we have this guy here. What is his name?" Snipe said calmly while looking at Kurayami.

"Hmmm...where is it... ah, here it is!" Principal Nezu immediately type something on his keyboard and after a while, a profile picture along with the information about Kurayami appears on the main screen for everyone to see.

"Kurayami Kaito, 15 years. Quirk, Shadow Devil. From what the quirks specialists said here, he can basically manipulate shadows and use them as his weapon." said Principal Nezu.

"Shadows huh, these kind of quirks are very rare and they are usually much stronger than the average quirks. I guess we will have to wait and see him in action first." All Might added his opinion.

"Alright then, keep an eye on him during the practical test as well. I will do some background check-up on this student." Nezu immediately ordered the others to monitor his movements during practical test.

[Auditorium]

"For all you examinee listeners tuning in... Welcome to my show today! Everybody say "hey"!!! " Present Mic exclaimed in excitement.

Undeterred by the reaction of the students he continued to explain the rules for the practical test.

'Now I know why Eraserhead doesn't like being around this guy that much.' Kurayami deadpan at Present Mic when he tries to hype the crowd from time to time.

'Sigh... and this guy too...' Kurayami thought as he looked at protagonist who's in the middle of the crowd, fanboying Present Mic and started to mumble all kind of information about Present Mic that he knew.

'He already deep inside his own world.' Kurayami thought helplessly as he checked his examination ticket and the little pamphlet or 'guide' for the practical test.

'Hmmm.... it seems I'm not in the same group as the protagonist... Well, I don't really care which group I'm in to begin with though.' Kurayami thought as he watched the little drama that Tenya Ida started.

'10 minutes. 'Kill' the 1 point robots, 2 points robots or 3 points robots to get points. There's also an 'arena trap' or some kind of 'final boss' that gives out zero points. Well, the test is basically the same as in the anime.' Kurayami came to a conclusion as he heard the contestants around him whispering to each other about the test's theme being the same like games or something.

"That's all from me. Finally, I'll give you listeners a present-- our school motto! The hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said 'A true hero is someone who overcomes life's misfortunes.' Go Beyond! Plus Ultraaa!!!" Present Mic concluded his explanation with a big shout at the end.

[Battle Center E]

'This school is really something else huh..' Kurayami thought as he looked at the big gate and the fake city beyond it.

"Now the question is... Should I go all out, or should I tone it down a bit..." Kurayami muttered as he stretched his body.

"Alright, start!!" Present Mic's voice suddenly echoes throughout the fake cities.

"Well, here we go..." Kurayami slowly slipped into his shadow.
