Chapter 8: Sports Festival Part 1

- In Class 1-A Waiting Room -

"EVERYONE! ARE ALL YOUR PREPARATIONS COMPLETE!? WE'RE SET TO BEGIN IN NO TIME" Iida asked, full of energy.

Unfortunately for him, no one acknowledged his question as they were doing their own things.

"Does my uniform make me look fat?" A girl asked

"I was hoping we could wear our costumes" Many agreed.

"Hey, Midoriya" Todoroki approached him.

"Yeah? What's up, Todoroki?" Midoriya was quite shocked Todoroki spoke to him, it was pretty much the first time they've ever spoken.

"On an objective basis, I'm stronger than you" Todoroki stated, surprising the class at his bluntness.

"However, All Might appears to have his eyes set on you. I have no need to pry on that, but...

I'll beat you"

"Oho? What's this, a declaration of war from one of the strongest in the class!?" Kaminari commentated.

"Woah, Todoroki, chill. Don't spring all this on him right before-" Kirishima put his hand on Todoroki's shoulder

"I'm not here to play nice and make friends" Todoroki swatted Kirishima's hand away and began to walk out the changing room.

"I don't know what you're hoping to get out of saying that... And everyone here knows that you're definitely stronger than me..." Midoriya replied with low-self esteem.

"Hey, Midoriya! Don't be so negative, c'mon!..." Kirishima said, but Midoriya then raised his voice confidently

"Even so!..." He clutched his fist, "Everyone from the other classes are aiming for the top with all their might! So not even I can fall behind them...

So I'm gonna go for it with all my might, too!" He stared at Todoroki, full of conviction.

"Woah, Midoriya, of all people, just stood up to Todoroki like that!?" A few people thought, but only Kaminari actually said it out loud.

"It's the freshmen now!! And they're all making their way out now!! To start off...

CLASS 1-A!!" Midnight, the rated-R female hero, announced as she was the micperson for the sports festival.

"Woah~ So many people..." Midoriya muttered in fear at the overwhelming amount of people.

"Damn, this is kinda intimidating" Ryoichi commented.

"Now we have the other classes!" Midnight announced, as the students from the other classes walked behind 1-A.

"Tch, they're just treating us like fodder..." Shinso kissed his teeth in annoyance.

"Alright, alright, settle down!" Midnight commanded the students that stood in front of her, waiting for her to say the next instructions.

"Now, the student representative: Ryoichi Cheney, please come to the stage" Midnight said, to which Ryoichi walked up with a questioning look.

"Now, will the student representative say his speech he has for the rest of the students"

"Wait, what-" Ryoichi muttered at the sudden news.

"Come on, we don't have all day hotshot!" Midnight urged, putting him on the spot.

"Ehem!" He cleared his throat and began to speak into the microphone, "I wish every student here good luck for the event, and I hope can make the event entertaining enough for the audience, thank you" He finished with a bow and walked off the stage back to the class. The audience clapped at his speech.

"That shit was boring" Bakugo stated when Ryoichi stood with 1-A, "You shoulda said something more fun and cool"

"Ignore him, Ryoichi, that speech has definitely given you a good first impression towards the heroes!" Iida said.

"Alright, with that speech out of the way, we can now move directly on to our first event!" Midnight announced, exciting everybody.

"We'll start off with the 'preliminaries', and the event for this round isss..." A wheel from the screen behind Midnight spun and landed on

"This...! The obstacle course race!!" She then went on to explain how it was a race between all the classes that spanned over 4km around the stadium, and that the students were free to do anything in order to win.

"Now, on your marks... get set..." The students were waiting for the sign to start racing, determined to come out on top.

'This is just unfair for everyone but me... but I ain't complaining' Ryoichi thought.

"GO!" Present Mic, one of the two announcers (The other being Aizawa), shouted in excitement.

With the race having began, there was no hesitation in any of the students as they ran as fast as they could.

"My, my, my! Would you look at that. In first place, we have Ryoichi Cheney, who used his quirk to create a portal and travel to 'THE FALLLL'" Present Mic announced.

As he said, Ryoichi had created a portal instantly and teleported to his max range (1km) , which ended up being the next obstacle.

Little did he know, "Look at that! Right beside him are most of 1-A!!" Present Mic announced.

Next to Ryoichi were: Kirishima, Kaminari, Iida, Juvia, Bakugo, Todoroki, Midoriya and Uraraka.

"Huh, why are you guys here?" Ryoichi asked, to which Kirishima was the first to reply with a laugh.

"Come on, it was obvious you were gonna create a portal, so I jumped straight at you as soon as 'Go' was said. Who woulda thought the other guys woulda had the same idea as me, hahaha!"

"Damn, I didn't think you guys actually had it in you to think of that... shame it ends here though" Ryoichi then used his quirk to increase the gravity of the others and make them fall onto the ground.

"See you guys at the finish line, Ciao~" He waved and then created a portal and teleported all the way to the finish line instantly.

"AND WE HAVE OUR WINNER AFTER AN ANTICLIMACTIC TURN OF EVENTS! Present Mic announced.

Minutes later, the race was finished.

"And so, it's over! Now everyone, here are the results!:" The screen revealed the places everyone got in the obstacle course.

1. Ryoichi Cheney

2. Izuku Midoriya

3. Juvia Lockser

4. Shoto Todoroki

5. Katsuki Bakugo

6. Tenya Iida

7. Eijiro Kirishima

8. Ochaco Uraraka

9. Denki Kaminari

Then the rest included: Everyone from 1-A and 1-B, Shinso, and Mei Hatsume. All these students made up the top 42. (A/N: I could not be asked to name everyone)

"Now that the preliminaries are done, it's time to move on to the main events!!" Midnight began, "As the first main event..." The wheel span

"Human cavalry battle!"

The rules were the explained once again: Teams made up of 2-4 had to be created. Teams would have to steal the points off the other teams headband.

"Everyone will receive points based off their performance from the last event! Feel free to take a look!" The screen changed again, "As you can see, the first place person is worth...

TEN MILLION POINTS!"

Next parts might be written next week, since my schedule at this point is pretty much 1-2 (3 at best) chapters a week.
