------------------------------

The heroes outside of the barrier were caught in a stupor.

This kid, who turned out to be the infamous villain who knew almost every weakness to their quirk, was dancing around the boy who had been smoking the competition since the start of the festival.

And if the images of the papers on screen were in any way true, then he was doing so...without a quirk!

"What are you all doing down there?!"

The heroes surrounding the ring turned back to Midnight, who looked as serious as she could be, with her hand to her headset microphone.

"Snap out of it and break down that barrier! We have to stop that child before he does any more harm!"

It took a moment for the heroes to register her words, until they got ahold of themselves, and set back to work on getting through to the inside of the ring.

The caped crusaders through punches, kicks, and hit the invisible blockade with their quirks at full blast, but everything they did only bounced back off again.

Nezumi noticed how some of the heroes didn't seem to be trying at all.

As if putting on the appearance of trying to save Bakugo just to save face.

The rated-R heroine grimaced at the reaction. She shook herself out of it as she placed her hand on her headset once more.

"All members of the audience, please evacuate the stadium. Heroes and staff members will guide you to the closest exit!"

The crowd started to disperse, but not completely.

Some were too engrossed in the spectacle taking place, and it made Midnight curse under her breath.

The Rabbit... or Izuku now... had succeeded in doing what he intended from that start; to turn the world against his former abuser, and expose him of his cruelty in the past.

And if she were being honest...his plan had worked a little on her as well.

------------------------------

La Brava watched frantically as Deku dealt blow after vicious blow to the one who hurt him in such an inhuman fashion.

The girl would admit, the exploding boy had a lot coming to him for what he did.

But this was still hard to watch for the timid little hacker.

La Brava heard her beloved grunt and turned toward him.

She saw him showing signs of distress and exhaustion on his moustached face. "Gentle, what's wrong?!"

"I'm trying to hold the barrier and trap together from here!" The flamboyant thief forced out as he held his hands together.

"The time limit for their effect has long since passed, but I'm putting everything I've got into keeping those heroes at bay!"

La Brava was stunned to hear this. She felt so helpless in this situation.

Her part of the plan was practically over, but now that she knew what the plan was, it struck her deep on what was going on.

Everything that Deku planned was to hurt the one who hurt him. She could understand his feelings all too well.

But the way he was doing it...the way he was fighting...it was insane...cruel...scary...

"Deku...!" The pig-tailed girl whimpered for the green-haired boy who she'd grown close to, wishing that there was something she could do.

------------------------------

Inko couldn't watch this any longer.

The distraught mother leapt out of her seat and shoved past a still bewildered Mitsuki and Masaru, running down the stairs as fast as her small legs could carry her.

Mitsuki watched her go until she snapped out of her shock and got up to go after her. "Inko! Inko, wait!"

The green-haired mother couldn't hear her over the frantic crowd, and most likely wouldn't heed her words, as she panted frantically as she descended the stretching staircase, heading straight for the ring, and her son.

------------------------------

Toshinori had saved many lives as the Symbol of Peace.

He saved thousands of workers from a burning factory. Helped a jumbo jet land safely without a loss.

Rescued civilians who were taken hostage by vicious criminals on multiple occasions, and brought a smile to each and everyone he had helped over his long and rewarding career as a hero.

... Except one.

Nezu managed to tear his eyes away from the ongoing assault in the centre of the ring to turn to his old friend frantically.

"Toshinori! We need All Might! Now!"

"It's my fault..."

The sentient animal grew confused to the withered number one hero's words.

"What?!"

"I couldn't save him...no, I refused to save him..." The spindly man muttered, watching the boy who was worthy of his power, pummel the one who beat and scorned him for who knows how long, before the entire nation.

As he watched, the words the green-haired boy he met last year rung through his mind.

"Can I be a hero...even without a quirk?"

Toshinori fell to his knees, his head hanging low as he stared at the ground, shock overcoming him as his barely fitting suit felt heavier than before.

It was a horrifying revelation that the Symbol of Peace didn't want to accept, but refused to leave him be.

A small bot that needed his help reached out to him...and he turned away.

He failed to help someone.

All Might failed.

"...What have I done...?"

------------------------------

Katsuki's reality was falling apart.

Deku was back, but he wasn't the Deku he knew, the Deku he created.

This couldn't be the same Quirkless loser he put down for being weak, because this Deku wasn't weak at all!

He was strong...really strong! Strong enough to take a full-frontal blast and stay on his feet.

But Deku wasn't supposed to do that! He was supposed to go down!

"WHY WON'T YOU GO DOWN?!" Bakugo demanded as he chased after Deku while launching a tirade of explosions at him.

But the Quirkless child outmanoeuvred him each time he fired off his power, hopping out of range of the flames, as well as the shockwaves of his bursts.

Bakugo's short fuse had completely burned out, and his temper was as flared up as it has ever been.

But no matter how much he wanted to, no matter how many times he threw his quirk at the Deku, he just couldn't hit him.

Not only that, but the crowd had long since stopped cheering for him.

Now all he was getting from them was judgement.

He could feel them now, glaring at him, hating him for his actions up on the screen.

WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON?!

Deku had been dreaming of this moment for so long.

Back when Izuku was scared and helpless, Bakugo tortured him for simply existing.

There were rare moments when the timid boy would try to stand up for himself, but the domineering emanation that Bakugo protruded would smother him before he could say a single word.

And even when Bakugo would treat him like dirt underneath his shoe, Izuku still admired him.

...What a fool.

After taking his abuse for so long, Deku had more than enough research on how to handle him and his quirk.

And now that the villain was putting that information to use, Izuku would be able to see how feeble and pathetic the show-boating brat was.

But it wasn't enough. Deku had to make the mad bomber hurt.

He had to suffer for what he'd done, for who he was.

Just like he did to him for all those years Time to make the bombastic blonde wish he was never born.

Time for Operation: Swan Dive's final step.

Bakugo roared as he launched the biggest blast yet.

An attack that Deku was hoping for.

With strength and skill unseen by the like of him before, the young villain leapt over the oncoming explosion, somersaulting in the air and placing a hand on Bakugo's shoulder.

Time seemed to slow as Katsuki looked up into the face of his former prey, who was no doubt smiling cockily at him behind his mask.

Deku landed back on his feet behind the explosion boy, who turned to face him as quick as he could. "H-How did you do that?"

Deku's eye merely glowed with sadistic mirth over his fastened mouthpiece.

"How are you doing any of this?!" Bakugo demanded, his temper overcoming him as he started to sweat buckets.

The childish laughter of Izuku when he was small on the screen caused the blonde to point up to the screen. "Where did you get that footage?!"

Deku continued to say nothing, enjoying the sight of Bakugo losing his composure, showing the world who he was without knowing it.

"You're not supposed to do this! You're not supposed to be this strong!" Bakugo reprimanded, his uniform damp with exhausted and nervous sweat.

"You're supposed to be weak! And helpless! And stupid, and...and...!"

"Is that how a hero should treat his friends, Kaachan?" Deku inquired, his voice coming out distorted through his mask.
