Chapter 22 : Internships

It has been two days since the festival and everyone was in class including Midoriya which was surprising but the reason for that was quickly answered as Aizawa revealed the amount of internship offers the students had received.

Izuku Midoriya - 5735

Katsuki Bakugou - 4981

Shoto Todoroki - 4539

The stacks of internship offers were given to the class and when it got to Midoriya he was only given a single offer which suprised the class knowing the amount of offers he got. 

The offer was from the rabbit hero Miruko which was just the words "Come Fight Me! in bold red jagged letters. 

'Dammit Nezu. sigh. At least this might be fun' 

"Before I let you all go you'll all have to choose your hero names and choose wisely cause if you don't-" 

Midnight bursts into the room. 

"You'll have hell to pay!" 

"You hero names will be what the public will refer to you all as. Your choice here will effect you for the rest of your hero career." 

"Yeah you don't want to end up like Eraserhead over here."

Aizawa reminisces about the past where Mic gave him his hero name. It was his own mistake for not chossing his own. Every row is passed some small whiteboards and markers. 

"Alright when you have chosen I want you to come up and present it." 

The frenchaboo was the first to present. 

"I'm the Shining Hero: Can Not Stop Twinkling." 

"Hmm shorten the can not to Can't then I'll call that a fine name for a hero." 

This continues for the rest of the class. Bakugou had some trouble as he was still very much in love with the name he chose when he first got his quirk. 

"I'm King Explosion Murder!" 

"No."

He grumbles as he goes back to his seat. Todoroki had gone with Tundra which was accepted. Iida seems to have elected to use his own name. What happened to his brother must have effected him. 

"Tenya Iida intends to face the hero killer."

Fact

'I should keep an eye on him.' 

"The only one who hasn't presented is Midoriya. You can come up whenever you are ready."

Midoriya get up to the podium and turns his board around. 

"I'm the Unstoppable hero : Invincible." 

"Hmm, feels a bit haughty but it's a great hero name you'll have to live up to. Bakugou were you able to come up with something?"

"Great Explosion Murder God: DynaMight. " 

"So just DynaMight." 

"Use my full hero name!" 

"No we're vetoing that your DynaMight."

He grumbles at the response. 

"Alright since everyone has chosen their names I'll leave you all to choose who you'll be interning with. You all have 2 days to decide. After you are done give your choices to Aizawa."

"If you have any changes you want to make to your costume you can go to the support classes to get them done."

The class gathers to dicuss their choices. Midoriya having already been chosen for stayed to listen to the other's discussions and providing input when needed. 

"I'm thinking to accepting Uwabami."

"That's pretty good. I'll assume you are going there to learn more about the publicity side of heroism. Not a bad idea." 

"That's not the whole reason. She is pretty high up in the rankings so she should have some insights that would be worth learning." 

"While taht is true Uwabami isn't the best hero to choose if you want to learn what a hero does to stop villains. Yes she has saved lives but only when the situation demands it. Most of the time she will be focusing on her brand and seeing as you are the only one from class 1 a to get an offer from her. It wouldn't be a streach to think she would be using your looks for promotion. In fact I think she has a new perfume line coming out so she might be too busy to even go on patrols."

"Who do you suggest Midoriya? After hearing what you said I don't think it best I go with her."

"I believe it would be best to go with either Fatgum or Mr. Brave. Fatgum because he could teach you what foods are best injested for best energy efficiency and hand to hand combat while Mr. Brave would teach you what tools would be best used for most situations. Whatever your choice will be you can't go wrong with these two."

Momo's cheeks flushed from the indirect compliment. 

"Thanks for the suggestions Midoriya." 

"No problem." 

"Iida who are you going with?" 

"I'm thinking of accepting Manual's offer. He manages a group of sidekicks and I think I have much to learn from him."

"That's great. Iida can we talk in private."

"Sure Midoriya." 

Iida and Izuku walk out of class and into a quiet corner. 

"Midoriya I know what your trying to do. I need to do this I can't let what he did to my brother stand."

"I know that. I'm still telling you it's a stupid idea. Whether you kill him or he kills you doesn't change what happened to your brother. I'm not stopping you from going but think about what kind of hero you want to be. A hero who seeks retribution for past wrongs or a hero who seeks to protect those they can see. What hero would Ingenium have wanted you to be."

"I can't just leave him to hurt others."

"Then persue him but do it smart. Get permission, have backup. You have the classes numbers in case things go south. Call and the might of class a will come crahing down the those that wish to harm our class rep. Some of us might be near enough to make a difference maybe even capture him." 

Iida remains silent so Midoriya leaves him to stew.

A few more days pass, the class is now waiting at the station for their ride to where they will be interning for the week. It was Iida's turn to leave. 

"Hey, keep what I said in mind."

"... I will Midoriya." 

He leaves with a heavy heart and much to decide on. Izuku train arrives and he sets off with a wave to his class. Izuku now finds himself at the door of an apartment. He knocked and suddenly preemptive warning goes off as he catches a furry foot coming at his face. 

"Hey Miruko." 

Miruko answered with a big smile on her face. 

"Hey kit come on inside and get changed."

Izuku goes inside it was a little messy a few weights on the floor and some cake boxes folded in the trash can. The apartment was modest it only seemed to allow 2 people to comfortably stay in. Izuku was lead into a guest room where he changed into his hero costume. 

"Follow me." 

Miruko lead Midoriya to a clearing in a forest by the mountain side. There were already a few trees that were knocked down surrounding it. 

"I guess this is where you train." 

Miruko was already above him her leg primed and ready for her signature move. 

"Luna Fall!" 

Izuku doesn't move as he takes the hit on his shoulder, his costume ripped and his feet were slightly embedded into the ground. Miruko repositions and throws a kick to his side which was grabbed and he threw her into the treeline. She launches back over with a feral grin. 

"Stop playing defensive and fight back!" 

A flying kick is flying towards his face he dodges to his side allowing he to sail by as he punches down on her ribs sending her into the dirt. Not giving her time to get up he punched her chin sending her back and into a tree destroying it. Midoriya leaps towards her and punches to the side of her head hitting the tree and destroying it along with the trees behind it leaving a clear line to the bottom mountain with a crater in the side. Miruko dodges to the side and tries to kick Midoriya in the head only for it to have no effect other than slightly tilting his head. Seeing this she tried to find a blind spot to attack but was stopped by Midoriya who launched a shockwave to trip Miruko. 

"Yes! MORE!" 

The exchange of blows continues for the next few hours. Midoriya started to use her own moves against her which only got her more excited and by the end of it Miruko was panting and bruised but satisfied. She had never had to try so hard just to get a hit in that effected him and Midoriya was just fine his costume the only casualty thought it was still mending. He looked like he just had a light warm up. 

"That was a nice workout kid. Half an hour rest and we go patrolling."

"Yes ma'am."
