The Next Hokage

----Danzo's POV (last night)------

I got off the surgery table Orochimaru set up and looked at my right arm. "So, these sharingan should work right?" Orochimaru nodded his head and said " Kukuku… Yes, if you get a mortal wound you can exchange an sharingan for another shot at it." He laughed and said "You should also be able to counteract the effects of the mangekyo now with Hashirama's cells…" Then there was a loud boom "What happened?" One of my root nin came out of the shadows and said "It seems that Hiruzen Sarutobi, along with a few anbu have come."

I sighed and said "I guess it's time for our fight…" I then turned to Orochimaru and said " You should probably go if you don't want to get spotted." He nodded his head and said " Always a pleasure to work with you." With that Orochimaru disappeared in a poof of smoke. I sat back down to wait for Hiruzen to show up. " I have no choice but to fight, if I win I might be able to use Kotoamatsukami on the elders to become hokage…"

---An hour later---

Hiruzen stood above me in a crater and did a few hand seals. "If I can't kill you then I have no choice but to do this… Reaper death seal!"

-------------Back to Mc (Current time.)------------

I shed a tear after hearing the hokage died and unknown to me my sharingan activated itself and started changing, but it didn't complete. Fawkes thought 'So close…' I then realised I had my sharingan activated and deactivated it. 'I guess there's no point in going to the academy since it's probably closed. Funeral time it is… I wonder who the next hokage will be?'

Elsewhere in the hokage tower a meeting was going on. All of the clan heads were seated at a round table discussing what to do next. Shikaku spoke up and said " Today we have gathered here on this sad day to choose the next hokage… Let's make this quick." Everyone else nodded their heads and Shikaku spoke up and said "The optimal choice would be either Jiraiya, or Tsunade. Does anyone disagree?" There were a few murmurs but no one disagreed, so Shikaku spoke up and said " Then it's decided, in a note the hokage left before he left us he told us how to get in touch with the two of them. We will reconvene when both have come back. Dismissed." With that everyone left to do their own things.

Shikaku stayed in the meeting room, sitting in his clan head spot. ' Being the hokage advisor is troublesome, but someone has to do it.' He sighed and got writing on a letter for both Jiraiya and Tsunade' I have no choice but to pull rank on them, they can't deny coming back during this crucial time, we need a hokage.' Determined, Shikaku wrote the letters and went to the messenger station in Konoha to deliver the letters...
