Training, Timeskips and going out?

"Haaah, that was good! I got lots of goodies now!"

Is the first thing Merlin said, when he was back at his cave-home, which would normally make someone think, that he came back from a shopping spree, not from rob- *ehem* 'borrowing' all forms of knowledge from different realities, as long as he found them necessary or interesting, for an indefinite amount of time. So now he had a lot of time, to go through all this knowledge, assimilate it and train for the next few years.

'Alright! Let's get this party started! First the knowledge, then magic, then the body! Last check on my status, and then I'll start!'

'And training start!' With those thoughts he then transferred into his dimension and began reading, watching and listening to all the knowledge, trying to learn as fast as possible. This went on for several months, even making him use a few charges to create some abilities, making it easier and faster for him.

--------- A few months after the beginning of Merlins training--------

"Finally! I'm finished with all of this! I got all the knowledge down to start training! I'm already thinking about what I could do, once my training is over!"

And saying something along those lines, Merlin then immersed himself in magical studies, feeling and controling different energies, forming spells, etc. This went on for a bit more than a year, and all he had difficulty with, was the mastery of certain concepts, such as destruction, creation, infinity and dream, basically the strongest conceptual energies in this world. While he did manage to control them completely, he had to basically research everything on this matter himself, as there was close to nothing about it in his hoard of knowledge. He also wrote down all of his new discoveries and such down, or rather, he once again made use of charges for that. He also got way more proficient with the abilities he had reincarnated with, including all five true magics.

-------- two years after the beginning of Merlins training---------

Now, it was finally time for him, to try and train his body. Now for this he had to use a few charges at the very beginning, since his current body already had reached it's current limits, in order for his training to have an effect. He also used a mix of magic and technic to create humanoid and beastly golems, that would train with him whenever he needed them to spar with him. This went on for several years, allowing him to create hi own combat style, incorporating magical and physical abilities into one, while also training in all sorts of weapons.
