First day

"Now, it's time for me to find out why my little kitten ran away from home." Rugal looked at Alexander as if he were an alien, this was the first time he heard Alexander speak with such a soft tone.

Rugal cleared his throat and had successfully gotten Alexander's attention. "You started a war with Yorkland." Yorkland was the third most prosperous country, and after repeated provocations from Alexander, they had finally accepted the war. Even though they knew they had no chance of winning, every king has a pride they would die to keep. The king of Yorklad -Yorks for short- thoughtline was 'If I am to die, I should be remembered in history as a brave king'

Alexander stared at Rugal with a dumbfounded expression, and a sudden hate for his love for war was devoloped. His expression turned to a thoughtful and serious one. "Send out a few soldiers to assist in the search, if they do find her, do not inform Astrophel and have her stay here until I am back. I want to hear her side of the story first."

Rugal nodded to his king's request and left to inform the soldiers of their new task. The chosen ones were disappointed that they'll miss the war but when they found out that the princess they were trying to find will be the future queen, the sadness had dissipated.

A loud bell rung throughout the cabin and with Astraea's sensitive ears it was painful so she was up a second later, clutching her ears as if that would get rid of the sound but it was like her hand had made the sound louder and Astraea groaned as she made her way to the study, the room in which Ophelia had decided to use for her theoretical classes and they would use the large backyard for practical classes.

Astraea pushed the door open and saw Ophelia sitting in a chair cross-legged, The blonde woman didn't say anything and waited for Alon to enter the room, covering his ears in the same manner Astraea did. Astraea had still not learned of why Alon was accompanying her in classes and Ophelia had decided to clear up her confusion.

"Do you know what a knight is?" Ophelia knew this question was the easiest for Astraea as she had lived in the palace but it was necesaary to start with this question if she wanted the princess to accept the task Alon would get.

Astraea nodded. "A knight is someone in a higher position than all the other fighters in the castle, The queen usually has two knights while the king only has one."

Ophelia nodded. "I am going to train Alon to be your first knight." As expected Astraea immediately started protesting.

"I cannot allow this, I promised him I'd keep him safe not put him in more danger than before." Ophelia laughed at Astraea's statement.

"He would be much safer living on the streets than staying with you, you if all people should understand." Ophelia's green eyes stared into Astraea's bright blue one and it went on until Astraea finally looked away. "You know that with your fate set in stone, you will one day have to marry the king and become queen. You should know that the council members of Zlork who wanted their daughters to become queen, will not sit still and the best way to get to you would be your knight and personal maid so the knights you have should not come from the palace. We will find a sloution for the maid but you have the oportunity to have a knight you can trust, so take it."

Astraea took in Ophelia's words and looked at Alon as if asking if he was okay with this, and seeing his nod Astraea could only sigh. "What about the other one? they might insist on me having two knights."

"Don't worry about that, I'll find one before the end of your training." Ophelia finally got up from her seating position and walked towards Astraea while Alon moved to take a seat in a chair in the study and waited for Ophelia to get to him.

"I will start with teaching you the concept of turning your vampire hearing on and off."

"When you turned your ear developed an extra muscle and just like babies don't know how to walk even though they have legs, you don't know how to control that muscle. First you should try and feel for that muscle."

Ophelia left Astraea in her focused stance and walked over to Alon. "What kind of weapon do you think suits you?"

Alon thought for a moment "Something light and easy to grab."

Ophelia nodded "an assassin type then." Ophelia glanced at Astraea to see her still focused and her gaze went back to Alon. "I have no experience in using weapon so I'll ask my close friend to teach you, for now, you need to learn how to act like a knight."

On the other hand, Astraea had finally felt the muscle Ophelia was talking about but did not know what to do with it so she practiced feeling for it so it would require much time everytime she needs an extra hearing.

Slowly she was getting better and required less time to find the muscle that before and it had gotten to the point where she didn't need concentration to find it.

Ophelia noticed this and walked over to Astraea. "Now that you have accomplished that, think of that muscle as and extra arm that you use when you feel like and just like picking up and arm it will turn on and release your control on the muscle to turn it off."

Astraea practiced what Ophelia said and their first day went with Astraea practicing her vampire hearing and Along practicing the postures and habits of a knight.

When Astraea went back to her room she saw a crystal ball on top of the closet and suddenly remembered Charlotte, the girl who made everything possible for Astraea and Astraea wasted no time in rushing over to it to talk to Charlotte.
