Eight

"Don't you remember anything?" asked Naoki.

In my head everything is blurred and I really feel like I have changed physically. I feel much heavier. They all look at me astonished but I don't understand what's going on.

I get up from the bed, walk to a mirror and I'm really surprised when I see my reflection. I even wonder if it's really me.

My hair, which was as black as night, had a purple sheen. And that was not all, now I had one red eye and the other one was purple. It's strange but I love this change, I had little horns on my head.

I ran my hand through my hair and looked at myself, I had changed since I came here. I turn to the others who are still shocked.

"What exactly happened, answer me?" I said in a firmer tone. I would like to know what happened.

"Well, after I got shot, you got angry. A huge amount of magic came out of your body. It was purple flames and then in an instant you killed the two men."

What I killed them. I don't think I'll ever be able to do that. Killing someone means taking their life and I had not killed one person but two. I felt a little bit bad about it.

"You brought me here and then you asked them to take care of me. Then you took the katana that was in your bag before you passed out." She sighs before sitting down on the bed.

If I understood everything correctly, I lost control of my magic and then killed two men. It reminds me of the day I beat up Chloe's mates. I still slept for a week, which is way too long.

"Ava, I don't want to disappoint you, but we're going to have to get back. We're leaving here tomorrow morning." I was expecting it, school's only a week away.

I nod. Before going to the room where I slept for the past few days. I throw myself into my bed. I am not exhausted and I am not necessarily hungry.

This holiday has gone by far too quickly for my taste. The return to school will be complicated, after what happened last time Chloe's group will probably be scared of my presence. I can't help but smile at that thought.

It's already dark, I think I should probably sleep but I can't. Why not go outside for a bit. It's my last night here after all.

I get out of bed and walk out the window, the forest is much better at night. All the animals are almost all sleeping. It's quiet, everything I like.

I take a night walk and then easily find the doe I had been nursing. She had already found her family. To think that I had taken care of him. I stay there watching the nature and the animals until I feel someone next to me.

"We'll see each other again, Ava." It was Naoki, she must have followed me. We sit there staring at the void for an hour.

I come back at about one o'clock in the morning and find Louise already asleep. I join her and fall asleep.

The next day I am awakened by the sunlight on my body, I feel movement, someone is carrying me.

"You woke up Ava, I thought you were still sleeping." It was Louise, I look around we were on a train.

"We're going home." she added.

The journey is really long. I must admit I missed Rose and Cookies too. I can't wait to get home and I'm not afraid of school at all. It is already dark when we get home.

I open the door and see Rose and Cookies waiting for us in the living room. I go and give Rose a hug and then take Cookies in my arms.

"Welcome home you two." Rose says before we get rid of our things.

"The food is ready for you to eat and then go to sleep." I really missed Rose's food.

I rush off to eat. Today we finally get a real meal after all this time. Rose cooking is the best.

I take the time to enjoy my meal and then compliment Rose on her food. When I finish I put my plate in the sink and go upstairs to my room.

Still as empty as ever. I thought as I looked around my room. My phone was on the table, I hadn't taken it with me on the trip.

I walked over to the table and picked up my phone, turned it on and noticed I had a message. I unlock my phone and see that it's a message from Ayumi.

From Ayumi to me: Have a great first day ^^

I really don't know why she sent me this after all the things she had done to me. It's been 3 days since this message was sent. I wonder what she's thinking about when she sends me this or even what she's doing right now.

Pov Ayumi

The holidays went by at an incredible speed. There are only 6 days left before we go back. I don't really want to go.

I'm in my room lying in bed waiting for Ava to answer my message. I know I'm really stupid after what I did to her, it's for sure she won't want to hear from me again.

But I don't despair. I know she's always been in love with me. I really don't understand what she found in me that made her fall in love.

I wanted to be one of the popular girls and in our school, only Chloe's group was. I wanted to know what it was like but their only condition was that I not be friends with Ava anymore.

During this holiday I let my hair grow out and I also learned to wear make-up. Once during the holidays I went to Ava's house, I wanted to apologize but she wasn't there.

My mother opened the door of my room and came to sit next to me. She strokes my hair and looks at me tenderly. She knows when I am not well.

"You're still worried about Ava aren't you?" I didn't have to answer her question, she knew exactly what my answer was.

"It'll get better, don't worry." Mum holds me in her arms.

Five days later

Pov Ava

Tomorrow I'm going back to school. Today has been a really busy day with Rose going to get my unniform and Louise looking for a hairdresser all day.

Rose came into my room with the school uniform and put it on my bed. The uniform consists of a black shirt with a red tie and black trousser.

Rose knew exactly what I wanted and that's what I always like the most, despite my physical change she didn't make any remarks, which I really appreciate.

Rose comes out of my room and then Louise comes in, she looks a bit down and it really makes me want to laugh. She looks at me a bit annoyed that I'm making fun of her.

"I haven't got anyone to do your hair Ava." My hair isn't really a problem and I know what to do.

"You could do my hair yourself Louise, please I want you to cut it short enough that's all."

Louise doesn't look confident at first but eventually she goes and gets a pair of scissors , we sit in front of the mirror and she cuts my hair. When she's done I'm happy with the result, it's exactly what I wanted.

"Thank you Louise." I think that's the first time I've ever thanked her. Louise smiles before leaving my room.

I go to my bag, then take out the katana I'll bring back from our trip. I then put it back in my bag. I have a goal now and it is to take revenge on every people that has hurt me.
