Suddenly, his head was bombarded with a slew of notifications. This sensation was strange since it felt as though the information was being delivered straight to his brain.

"Wa…Wait a minute...! Is this one of the systems from the novels? And were those the notifications?"

He was ecstatic; the system seemed extraordinarily powerful, and even if 1% of the novels he read were true, he wouldn't have to be concerned about his safety.

He whispered, "System, Introduce yourself," with some expectations in mind.

[Greetings, Host, and welcome to The Great Dao Collector System. Dao is the beginning and end of everything. The Great Dao binds all living and non-living things in the universe. It is the absolute concept that underpins the universe, incorporating the Yin and Yang principles as well as the Five Elements. There contains a certain law of Dao in everything in this cosmos. You will be able to collect it using this system. You can also transform the collected Dao into Dao Points, which can be used in various ways.]

Liu Feng had a pained expression on his face for the following several seconds. A great deal of knowledge on how to operate the system was pushed immediately into his head.

The system turned out to have several functions, the most important of which was to collect Dao Fragments. He can strengthen himself in a variety of ways by using the Dao Fragments. He had learned from the system introduction that Dao was similar to natural laws. They were divided into several categories by the system.

Inferior Grade Pieces were the lowest grade of Dao fragments. Although they had no practical use, he could convert them into Dao Points. There were also Lesser Grade and Low-Grade fragments after that. This was done after quantifying the Dao purity contained in a given object.

Liu Feng took some time to go over all of the information. He felt he didn't comprehend everything, but he had a general notion. A churning hungry noise from his gut disrupted his complex thoughts.

With all of the adrenaline, he had completely forgotten about his hunger. He quickly went in search of food. He was in the middle of a forest, thus there were plenty of trees. Fruits were even hung from some of them, but the trees were too tall to pick them by hand.

He attempted to hurl some stray branches toward the fruits. He succeeds after several attempts, and a pair of green apple-like fruits fall. He instantly snatched them up and attempted to eat them up after cleaning them with his clothes.

He soon realized that his clothes were equally filthy, with a lot of mud stains on them. As a result, he attempted to find a place to clean them while eating the apples. As he began to look about, he discovered other creatures roaming the area. There were squirrels, bunnies, and a flock of birds among the creatures.

They were similar, but it appears that they had a mutation. The squirrel has two tails, the rabbit has two little blunt horns, and the birds appear to be sparrow-like in appearance but with red crests on their heads.

After wandering about for a while, Liu Feng grabbed a few more fruits and ate them while looking around. Soon after, he came across a tiny pond.

Liu Feng took a few moments to look around before removing his clothing and carefully submerging himself in the pond. The pond was only a few feet deep. He took his clothes out to dry after washing them for a time and then cleaned himself up again.

He realized he had forgotten to check his 'status' while he was thinking of a strategy to move forward. He said, "Status," with certain expectations in his head.

As soon as he uttered those words, a blue transparent screen emerged in front of his eyes, on which he saw many details about himself.

Seeing the Name details empty shocked him, but he reasoned, that because his body was that of a slave, his name had been erased by some methods.

He also thought that because his name might have been displayed as none due to his foreign soul, he swiftly clicked on the panel and changed himself to Liu Feng. He chose to preserve his Earth identity because he couldn't recall the name of this body and it did not seem like Little Xiao that the miner people called him was a real name.

He was surprised to find his age was 17 after carefully observing his body. He had assumed he was no older than 14 or 15 based on his appearance and noodle-like limbs. However, he was mistaken.

After that, he began to examine his body for any kind of mark that might be used to identify him, but he could not locate any.

'I suppose that's the benefit of being this frail,' Liu Feng thought. He recalled some adult slaves laboring in the mine wearing wrist restraints and even collars around their necks.
