The elders nodded in agreement with a determined expression equally.

Chen Xiangyun continued, his voice carrying a sense of urgency, "Is the preparation for the blood sacrifice formation complete?"

A chorus of responses affirmed his question as one elder continued, "Yes, patriarch, we are ready to deploy the formation any time. Our spies are keeping watch at the designated locations, and we will be notified if anyone suspicious tries to interfere."

"The four of us elders shall start the formation from the outside, while the first and second elders will assist you."

As the patriarch nodded in agreement, "We only have four of the protection pendent, so only four of us can stay inside the barrier."

"Is there any news from our spies?"

"Yes, patriarch. There is no need to worry about Wei Family and Huo Family…but…"

"Our spies informed us that some young girl affiliated with a prestigious family that has connections to the imperial court will be attending the upcoming festival. If everything goes according to our plan the consequences could be catastrophic and chaos will surely ensure."

Turning his attention to matters at hand, the patriarch inquired, "Have we gathered any intelligence about those suspicious individuals that recently arrived in the city?"

"Yes, patriarch," another elder responded. "It appears that Elder Shen from the Flaming Mountain Sect has arrived in the City Lord's residence, accompanied by his disciple. Additionally, there is a mysterious cultivator who is staying there as a guest."

'Ah, Elder Shen,' the patriarch mused. "The Golden Alchemist huh…?'

The elder continued, "Indeed, patriarch. Also, there is news of a minor disagreement that occurred between the mysterious cultivator and Elder Shen's disciple, although it seems to have been quickly resolved."

The patriarch nodded, hearing the information.

The elder went on, "We have finished the matter regarding the bandits. When the two of them came here, to ask for help, we learned that their hideout had been discovered by none other than the mysterious cultivator in the City Lord's house. Furthermore, we learned that the Zhang kid has also gone missing."

Music filled the air as skilled musicians played traditional instruments, their melodies mingled with the laughter and chatter of the crowd. Dancers adorned in flowing garments gracefully moved to the rhythm, captivating all who watched.

A central stage stood proudly in the middle of the city center, showcasing talented people engaging in awe-inspiring displays of skill. Spectators marveled at the scene, their applause ringing through the square.

Amidst the festivities, many couples with their children indulged in local delicacies, savoring the flavors of colorful sweets, spicy street food, and fragrant teas.

Girls explored the crowded stalls, admiring handcrafted jewelry, embroidered garments, and intricately painted artworks.

As twilight descended, the true enchantment of the festival came alive. The corners of the city brimmed to the fullest. Thousands of paper lanterns were lit, casting a warm, ethereal glow all over the city. The sky sparkled with a breathtaking display of fireworks, illuminating the faces of awe-struck onlookers.

Amid this breathtaking spectacle, Liu Feng found himself in a secluded spot in the eastern part of the city accompanied by Li He with a grim expression.

"Senior Liu, not to doubt you, but are you confident that you will be able to handle it?"

Li He inquired, his voice laced with concern. "Elder Shen and his disciple have already departed to survey the city's outskirts."

Liu Feng's gaze remained fixed on the radiant display above with a firm expression.

'I don't really know how to answer that question…let's see what happens and hope for the best', Liu Feng clenched his fist tightly.

"Well, we will see what happens"

He realized that there was no point doubting himself at this moment.

'But this is bad, I guess in the heat of the moment I agreed to fight the Chen family but I am not sure if this is the correct approach. Sigh~'

Liu Feng with the help of Li He, was looking through every suspicious corner of the outskirts of the city.

Even though they spent the entire afternoon, they did not discover anything suspicious.
